Guga-Nestor was an amazing match; one of the best I've seen all year. The quality of play was inredible... Guga played poorly in the third apparently (I missed the 3rd due to roommates wanting to watch something), but either than that it was classic. I believe Guga was the more fatigued of the two in the end, and that is what made the difference. But Guga did anything but give it away... he hung in till the bitter end, fighting off fatigue and injury as long as possible. It was admirable, even if he didn't win the match.

Kuerten beats Larose 7-6(4), 7-6(4), 3-6, 7-6(10)

Now Daniel will win this for the maple leaf!

On that note, I'm going to go downstairs and watch Dancevic and Saretta... I'll try not to chew all my fingernailes off, but no promises :)

Why Frank? He is good but I don't think it's the right pick! No experience at all and he has allllll the pressure on his shoulders! Dan would have won it in 3!

You all know that Canada is the real axis of evil, don't you? don't you?

Daniel played the last two days, and is 31. he just didn't have another day in him. That's why they picked Frank. Besides... as Daniel said earlier this week, Frank is their best singles player. He is inexperienced, yes, but what better way to get experience than to just throw him out there?

He won the first set 6-3. Saretta hasn't really stepped up yet.

Frank is a very good all round player, I might add. He's very solid in all areas. I hope he can keep this level up, and meet the challenger if Saretta gets hot.

That's really something though... not a player in the top 200 and Canada is in the World Group! Hopefully they get a home tie and play in Ontario ;)

I hope they get a home tie and play in Nova Scotia but chances of that happening are pretty slim :o

He does, yes. Going by the rankings though, this was a brilliant brilliant upset. Of course, DC doesn't go by the rankings ;)

Frank was top 200 not long ago, but has slipped back about ten spots. I have a feeling he'll get up there against sooner or later ;)

Oh of course it was an upset... Saretta is still top 50, Frank is nowhere near that atm but I'm sure he will be someday, hopefully soon :D

He almost beat Davydenko this year in Montreal... inexperience cost him the match. So he can certainly play with those guys :)

Why change a winning combination! If they get to play in Canada, I hope they'll play in Calgary again! They've won something like 13 matches and lost 2(to Brasil) there.
