Live coverage of Shanghai on ABC for Australians!...

When was the last time this happened

Sure, it'll be on ABC at 10pm (plus token highlights on Fox Sports) but for those of us with Foxtel, especially those who, like me, only have it for the tennis (well, I'm ditching it next year ) it sucks. I loved the coverage the last 2 years. And now that it's in Shanghai, with only a 3 hour time difference it seems a shame to have it tape-delayed.

I looked at the Masters Cup website and it says that the singles matches start at 7:00p.m so if it is a 3 hour difference as you say, that would be live, wouldn't it?

Anyway, it's good news for me. I'm so excited! After the hurrendous coverage we've had this year on free-to-air (apart from the Aussie Open), it'll be great to see something unexpected.

I have lost faith in free-to-air TV stations. No French Open, only the second week of the USO. I'd be happy if we can still watch the final, live or recorded, since Hewitt is likely to withdraw.

krystlel, I agree. Nearly all sports coverage this year is awful, maybe except SBS's Ashes series (I hate cricket, but I watched :)). :(

I just checked on the World Time Server website and Shanghai is 3 hours behind the Eastern seaboard in time.

So as they will have 2 matches on in the evening, it is more than likely to be live as was explained earlier.

Its about time. January is about the only good time for tennis on free to air here.
I hate how we don't get all the overseas tournaments. Oh well! We have this now so it all okie :)
