Who will win AMS Paris?

Now that the draw has been released, what does everyone think?

I've read that Roddick might not even play in Paris depending on his result in Lyon.
In case he does pull out, I vote for Ljubicic.

Jimnik
10-29-2005, 01:45 PM
I heard that too - very strange. Maybe he's taking a stand against the ATP schedule.

I can't think of a good reason for him to pull out of Paris.

I like Ivan's chances :)

I voted for Gonzalez, but don't think he'll win, but he'll go far, as he's in a good shape at the moment.

the question is who is even still playing paris? :(

Ferrero

My god :banghead: and I jump in the Seine river

If the withdrawals continue, he could win

Loremaster

Andy Roddick will win this it's his only chance and he is 3rd player so it would be logical if he wins this TMS.
Ljubicic now way in my opinion he will be out in second round - he propably will be playing with James Blake :) so goodbye Ljubo :)

Gah, Thomas Johansson will win.

djokovic
I saw him school Haehnel in his first qualifying match. He could go far. His leg doesn't seem to bother him anymore to say the least.

If Andy plays, then him. If he doesn't then Ljubicic. Can those other guys beat Ljubicic indoors? I don't think so.

We've pretty much seen that Feña is not gonna beat Ljubicic indoors this year.

I voted Gonzo :yeah:

Jimnik

He's on the opposite side of the draw to Ljubicic so, if someone else knocks him out, Gonzo has a good chance.

Gonzalez still has a very reasonable chance of qualifying for Shanghai.

I think we're forgetting that Ljuby has to get past James first
Although JB has to get past Olivier, who beat him last week, first.

what? Didn't he just have a rather long break between the US Open and Madrid (except for the Dc weekend)? He played 1 match in Madrid and 5 in Lyon. Now he demands another break for himself?

Maybe it's a protest against the ATP calendar.

Who I think will win- Ivan, Andy or Fena-

Who I want to win- Ivan, Andy, Fena or Nalby.

If Fena wins is there any way he will make Shanghai?

Sparko1030
10-31-2005, 09:13 PM
I voted for Fena-partially because he's my fav in the running and partially because I think he really has a chance. Hope he's not too tired after his single and doubles wins last week though. Vamos Fernando!!!

Is this not a slow type of indoor court?

i think its really fast. just the way Ljubo likes it.

ah okay, i was just wondering cos Tim won on this 2 years ago and i didn't think he knew how to win on a fast court!

Having watched some of today's matches, I don't think the court's that fast........

Duncan

yeah i didnt think it looked fast either

If the court aint fast then a big server probably wont win here

Favorites are Roddick, Ljubicic, Nalbandian and Gonzalez, it would be great if they all could reach semifinale!

Jimnik
10-31-2005, 10:13 PM
I'm afraid ARod and Nalba can't both reach the semis.

Ideal semi-final line-up would be:

Roddick v Ljubicic
Gonzalez v Ferrero :bigclap:

tennismaster882001
10-31-2005, 10:21 PM
Nalbandian could upset Roddick, he returns well. He beat another big server Karlovic two times in two weeks easily!

Jimnik
10-31-2005, 10:29 PM
No doubt that Nalba can beat ARod. But we already saw him play Ljubo in Madrid so I'd prefer to see Andy reach the semis.

Blake, Djokovic or Ancic?

None of these guys have even reached the QF of a Masters Series event. Why do people think they will suddenly win an AMS Shield?

Why does no-one think Stepanek can win? He reached the final last year, losing to Marat who isn't even in the draw. He also has a 2-0 h2h lead over Ljubicic.

reaching the final last year is irrelevant to this year. although i think it's hightime he breaksthrough and wins a masters

Yeah, but Sexy Radek isn't exactly playing the sexiest of tennis now, is he?

note: Before anybody gets all agitated, I am aware that he won today, let's just see how much further he goes.
