I vote for Murray

I wanna vote for Murray too, but Berdych may over power him. Nevertheless, Berdych has still to learn how to play a consistent agressive game.

Tomas.

Berdych better vary his serving and not just belt big ones, use big kickers and change ups, if he does that then he can win, if not Murray will get enough balls in court and frustrate the Berdman, but go the Berdman.

Come on, Tomas!

I have no doubt that if Tomas had a better head on his shoulders he would be top 5. The kid just exudes talent.

Can't see Murray winning this one if Berdman is on-form. He will be overpowered, he is probably a little tired from yesterday, he has to come down from his "dream" perch after taking out his idol, and his hamstring is still a problem. But hey...I hope Andy wins!!! :yeah:

Murray is a good competitor already, though lacking in fitness and he definitely has a chance in this match, as for his hamstring it's http://forums.macmerc.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/whine.gif, cause of an injury and not being outplayed.

Berdych has the better artillery, particularly the forehand wing..he *should* win, but you never know when such young guns meet each other.

Match depends on which Berdych will show up today. If today is a day where he can serve well and his bh works, Murray has little chance. If those things don´t work Murray should be too solid. I trust on Tomas, anyway

In my opinion it's going to be Murray. Without even a slightly doubt.
 :p

Berdych's progression seems to be at a standstill since a year ago , and Murray is a rising player, everyday improving.

I would say Murray is the fave, but in tennis everything can happen.

Let's hope they play high quality tennis. I'm not invested in either player yet so that is my wish.

You mean beaten Federer when he was ill at the Olympics, not sure it counts for much. I'll go with the guy who has never dropped a set to Bastl.

I hope Berdych wins. His current ranking is way too low for his talent.

:haha:

Well a win is a win no matter what the circumstances -- you take your opportunities when you can. ;)

It honestly depends on Berdych, but my head says Andy, he is more solid of the two at the moment, now to loose the first set against a player of Bastl quality cannot be good signs, i feel the match will be down to Berdych getting frustrated with murray's dogid play, which will wear down Berdych to make unforced errors,

My prediction is

Murray 3-6 6-4 7-5.

I voted for Murray. I think he's more consistent than Berdych, who seems to have a knack for scalping top players and then falling flat afterwards.

it depends which berdych shows up.

If Murray is on his A game and Berdych is on his A game then Murray will win. So we'll see

but i hope Andy wins

I'd like Murray to win but I think Berdych, if he's not slinging errors left and right, will take this one. I won't be betting on it though :p

Berdych at his best is able to beat Nadal and Federer, so I would not feel that confident event if Murray brings his A game.

An ill Federer and a tired Nadal. Don't kid yourself he would stand a chance in normal circumstances.

Discounting Berdych's inconsistency, he should win the match. But like many other posters here, you just couldn't depend on him so my pick is Murray.

I was a bit surprised that Murray was a slight favorite but maybe that was to be expected with his good results of late. This kid is more than the country where he comes from, wildcards and hype. Congrats to him.
