Love the title!!! :woohoo:

Would love to give our Nico sweetie a big kiss...French or otherwise....

He made the direct entry though Alonso!!! All those guys dropped out. At first I was happy, then I was like wait he needs game time, but then thought wait if he loses in qualifying he'll be bummed. So back to glad he made the direct entry.

Alonso after Paris our angelito  comes home to Chile...you all have to take good care of him....he's had such a hard year. Give him a lot of  from us!!!

So happy that Nico made it into the main draw, you're right NicoFan, he'd be devasted if he lose in the qualies so thank God for all those withdrawls lol!

Well like Alonso said, just one more Nico! just one more!! then this shitty year will be ended and it'll be the time to reagroup and take some rest.

We'll support you forever Nico and I wish I could go to Paris to scream for him too NicoFan!!

Love ya Nico!! Hang in there! just one more!!

Good luck to Nico in Paris. I see that playing the qualies could be good for him for a couple of reasons but since a spot opened up may as well enjoy the good luck, so I'm very happy for him on that account. But you're right Alonso, he's GOT to get a win in before the season is over!

Have a great time Sue-looks like you'll have to be cheering for all us here! And hope you're able to make it even if only for a few days Rosie. And Nicofan sorry you aren't able to go. It will be good for Nico's crappy year to end but its a long stretch for us fans with no tennis lol!

Absolutely. If money was no object and I didn't work, then I would go to everything :p - but the point is there are lots of tournaments within a convenient distance from my home (especially in the Spring and early Summer) - so why spend a week of my holidays in November when I could have a week in the Austrian mountains in July or Monte Carlo in April?

Definitely! lol!

I would love to go to the Austrian mountains in July - Nico always does well in Kitz.

And Monte Carlo is one of my dream tournaments. It just looks beautiful there. Though I was a little bummed because I thought it was still very elegant and sophisticated like in Cary Grant movie ;) with the casinos but I heard that it isn't like that anymore. Oh well...still would like to go.

I wish money wasn't an object either - that I was independently wealthy and didn't have to work because yup - I'd be at every tournament!!! Gonna have to win the lottery though for that to happen...lol! ;)

I know, but 5 straight losses in the row and then getting Max.

Nico will feel like he's a goalkeep rather than a tennis player.

And its not for me that I want him to go home. I hate thinking of him suffering so much. My sweet chico...

Well the draw sucks like all of this season, so what it would be different from the other shitty draws that he got the entire season??? so the only thing that we could hope is that Nico fights like he did against Acasuso, if he can fights and plays like that time maybe he could get at least a win, but I think that we have to be possitives and support him, so let's gonna hope the best for Paris and the greatest come back for the next year! :yeah:

About the line, well I think that all of us could wait a little while for the chilean french kiss right?? besides I have the best solution for all of us ('cause I believe that most of us are the opposite to the type of Nico's women) , I can assure you that after a few drinks from a good tequila he won't see the difference between his models and us LOL!! sorry it's more than midnight and I'm beign silly like I normally am :silly:

But the simple thought of the french kiss is enough for us, at least for the weekend ha!

Well - what more can I say that hasn't been said here already? This draw sucks - big time  I hope Nico can surprise us - but frankly I think he might have been better following the lead of the other South American players like Calleri, Monaco and Chela, who passed up their opportunities in Paris (they would all have got into the draw with all the withdrawals), and just packed up after last week's matches and went home for an extra weeks' holiday in the sun with their familes.

Still - he might surprise us all - good luck Nico - miracles CAN happen :)

I definitely agree.

As you said before, it can't be good for our chico to keep losing in the first round like this. Go home, have a nice relaxing vacation, and start up again (his dad said that in the first week of December that he'll go to Argentina to start training for 2006).

Or if Nico wanted play time or points, he could have gone to a challenger, and ended the year with some points and on a winning note - even if it was a challenger.

It may have been a good idea for him to skip Paris but maybe he's just not the type to skip even if he is in a slump. Just gotta hope for the best I guess...

And about the line-well, I am tall-and that's about it. Never any doubt here that the attraction would not be mutual lol! Maybe we could share a blonde wig-just pass it on to the next fan in line. Can't do much for the 'model' part... ;)

Today, I made a tour at the players hotel and at the stadium. We saw Nico at 6pm, after his practrice, before coming back home. Nico was very sad, he was eating a sandwich. One person asked him for a picture and he accepted :) Personally, I decided to not ask anything because I fell him very sad, i wanted to let him alone. He put his bag in the car and left.

I hope he'll feel better soon, was sad to see.

Nico went down to #59 in the rankings this week...

I've watched this kid since the 2002 USO. After that things were rough then too - injuries, went from like 60 something down to 100 something in the rankings. But Nico came back in 2003, and went up to #12.

Hopefully he can do the same in 2006. Way too talented to be at #59 (and probably lower after this week).

He's just has to do what he did in 2003 - keep working hard, he had Gaby as a coach then too, play a couple of challengers and/or play the qualifiers in the bigger tournaments. But this time...listen to Gaby. He admitted he didn't listen back then, but this time he has to.

Sorry to ramble but I just adore Nico. And I've never seen a player which such sh*tty luck in my life. Madrid 2003 and the Olympics are the only really good things that has happened to him in his career.

NicoFan
10-31-2005, 03:11 PM
Well I have to amend that - not only Madrid and Olympics - he did have a great 2003 and a very good 2004 even outside of the Olympics.

I'm just sad that he's had such a hard 2005. He didn't deserve it.

And sorry to ramble again...

 to Nico and Nicofan! Even though this has been a crappy year for Nico we have seen signs of hope occasionally. Beat Andy, some semi and quarterfinals and a good showing at the USO. He does need a fresh start though and hopefully that's what he will get in 2006.

Annoys me too - I hate that serve only game. But don't get me started on the virtues of a clay court player's strategy game of angles and setting up the play vs. the hardcourt player's strategy just of hit the ball as hard as you can... ;)

Thanks for posting the order of play, I can't get it.
I've just came back from the stadium.
We saw our both chileans. I wrote my report about Fernando in his forum.
We saw Nicolas this morning twice (before and after his practrice), he maybe practriced 30 minutes. Well, still very sad. When he arrived, he accepted one pic, especially because he had no choice lol people were standing close to him, well, french people are stupid sometimes (see my report about Fernando :banghead:). Then, he came back, and refused to sign or take pictures, he was deeply sad and not in a bad mood. Someone said : "he's not nice or something like that". Well, the guy doesn't follow his carreer, and doesn't know that he has a lack of confidence at the moment. With my friend, we thought "the player is sad, and doesn't seem to be in a great mood, they can leave him alone, just respect the man, who is human and want to stay lonely". So, i really hope that tomorrow, he'll play well vs Myrni, I'll try to go and see the match. Tomorrow morning, I go to the hotel, cause I really want my pic with Fernando, the pic I couldn't have today.

Sorry to give bad news each time, but I think it's interesting to have a point of view from someone who is on spot. I could keep that for me, but as you are all his fans, I thought you'd be interested.

I really hope that he'll win tomorrow :)

Oh, don't think I didn't want your report because its sad news-I really appreciate it-good or bad news its great to know what going on with my favs.

I didn't mean that :) No problem :) but I would have liked to give better news. Maybe, with the arrival of Fernando, the mood will be better !!

Hey Enqvistfan - thanks so much for the report ...even though Nico is sad, I'm glad you're reporting on it.

I read the Fernando one too.

Its not just the French fans - I saw the same thing this summer here in the States - I went to 4 tournaments, and thought the fans behavior was horrid.

They don't know the players, and they don't understand what they are going through.

I feel so sorry for him right now. :-(

(My smilies aren't working - put in a HUG here for you Enqvistfan for understanding what Nico is going through! And hopefully you'll see a good match tomorrow.)

Hey thank you so much for the report, I agree with Sparko, we always like to have some news and to know what's going on with our boy. I really want that this overs for him, he needs to be at home with his family and friends, like you said, maybe now that Fernando is there he'll make Nico laugh like he always does.

About the "fans" we all know that there're any type of fans, and this ones don't realize that this guys are real humans, so no matter what would happen tomorrow, Nico will support you forever

Just do the best you can sweetie, you'll be at home soon, hopefully with some great news .

We love ya Nico

I'm back from Bercy, we have spent all the day on court n°1, the matches were very tough and we finished with Nico's match. Sad that he lost :( But Max played very well, he was solid on his serve, wasn't the case for Nico. I think he paid his lack of confidence. It was sad for him, even his circle was sad. When he left the court, with my friend, we started to applaud him. I really hope that 2006 will be different for him !!

I enclosed a few pics in the pics thread :)

Val - thanks so much for the report and the pictures, and supporting Nico at his match. So sad...

I know that he'll be back....he's just got to start at square one again and get his confidence back.

He's a good boy with a good heart, and I know what you mean about how seeing him so sad touches you.

My poor Nico - I'm going to be hoping, wishing, and praying for him all offseason.

Nico was drunk but he was funny. I didn't expect he could be a skirt chaser
like that  It seems he didn't want to spend the end of the night alone ;)
But i'm sorry Nico you're not my kind of man
Anyway, it's a bit umbelievable to have an olympic champion who's knocking and scratching on your door... Nico: "Oyé Oyé! Alorrrrrrrrrrs les filles!" :haha: Sorry Massu fans, but Nico is just... a man ;)

No need to apologize Elea. I never thought Nico was an angel. As far as twentysomething men and alcohol and the pursuit of women are concerned I don't have high expectations. I'm a Nico fan because of his style of play and spirit on the court (and yeah his good looks) but I do wish he'd mature in some areas a bit. You two seem to have delt with the experience with good humor but he should have known better. That said I'm still a Nico fan-one who is glad he is back home with family and friends right now. I still think from other reports that he was sad and in a mood while in Paris so I assume that's what led to the drinking.
