Nadal 6-4 6-4

This is tough. Here's my assessment:

Nadal
+Forehand
+Speed
+Endurance
+Topspin with angles

Ginepri
+Power
+Backhand
+Serve
+Topspin with penetration

If Nadal is on his game it will be Nadal with a score of somthing like 6-7 6-3 6-4, if Nadal gives Ginepri even a little bit of breathing room, it will be Robby 6-4 7-5.

although nadal is not playing his best tennis these days, i just cant see him loosing to ginepri... the only guy left that may beat him in this tournment, i think, is ljubicic,
who will be tired if he gets into the final

anyway, i guess nadal in straight sets, but not easy..

Ginepri has had a great run but I don't how he will be able to beat Nadal. You need to be able to blast away from the beginning to beat Nadal like Blake did and Robby just doesn't have the firepower.

I think that for Ginepri to have any chance he has to take the first set. Nadal in three, two close sets and a blowout in the third

Robby, I hope. But the crowd will play a factor I think. Since Roger and Rafa have won all the TMS events so far this year (but really because Roger isn't playing :o) it would be nice for someone else to win one.

Nadal in two without no tie break..

Ginepri will have to honour of tasting Nadal's topspin by first time tomorrow..

This will be a walk in the park for Nadal.

How come Blake had no problem with it?

Nadal was playing horribly in Flushing meadows without aggressiveness playing very short and it was logical that Blake defeated Nadal watching as Rafa played against Reynolds and Jenkins and watching as Blake was playing since New Haven.

There are some matches when the opponent is able to handle Nadal's topspin, but these matches are the exception , because in the 90% of matches played on clay and hardcourts this topspin is a destructive weapon and the opponent has nigthmares with this crazy spin..( Check for example Federer's press conference the day before Miami final )

By the way, the boy who is in your avatar has still nightmares with Nadal's topspin..

Good night

I just don't think Nadal is in good physical shape right now. I hope I'm wrong because I admire his courageous game and think him a big hope for the future.

Good night :zzz:At one time "my boy" had troubles with Hewitt and Nalbandian too. Of course he doesn't anymore. That may or may not happen with Rafa. Only time will tell.

I don't object to the bit about nightmares, but I do object to the "boy" description of Federer. I mean, if he's a boy, what does that make Nadal? :p

I agree Nadal isn't in the greatest physical shape during this tournament, nevertheless, ginepri doesn't possess any skills that can hurt Nadal tomorrow.

One of the things I admire most about Roger is that he does his homework. It is but a matter of time before Nadal becomes putty on Roger's racquet. Roger will figure out a way to beat Nadal as he has done with every other player.

I really don't see Nadal losing this match unless if his knee starts to bother him. He should be able to fight his way to the finals on Sunday.

The difference is that when your " man " had problems with Lleyton and Nalbandian it was when Federer wasn't the nº1 yet , and above all Federer had still mental up and downs.

The only player who has been able to defeat Roger two times being nº1 has been Nadal .

Federer's head to heads before 2004 aren't too much significant, and you know it perfectly ( hewitt, nalbandian, henman were able to beat the former Fed, but the curret is almost unbeatable by these players )

Ginepri has been more impressive than Nadal throughout the tournament so far but of course we're talking about a semi-final and he may not be able to handle the pressure. Nadal is of course much stronger mentally, not to mention the home ground advantage. Nonetheless, I still think that like Blake, Ginepri has the weapons to defeat Nadal.
