With the greatest respect Jerry, I have a feeling Fat Dave is about to increase his girth by feasting on Ljubo's winning steak.

My prediction: 6-4 6-4 to Big D-an identical score to last year's match.

For those who are not fans of Ljubo or David, I really recommend watching this match and enjoy it.

For the fans, well, it will be a nightmare.

no, Ljubo is much better player then he was, 27-3 indoors.

Aaargh- I want them both to win. Can't they just call it a draw and skip around the court holding hands?

Regardless, I think this is very real important test for both of them. Ivan has the consistant form coming in- and I actually think losing the first set to Gonzo helped him more than hurt him in regards to his ability to battle.

That stated, I think that David will pull it off. I am believing that his f***-up chip has been removed from his brain and he will play to his best tomorrow. We all have to have our little dreams, don't we?

I am a fan of both, so will have no problem watching and enjoying the match. :)

My nightmare will come the day after, when the winner gets squashed in the final by everyone's favourite teen wunderkind.

To be honest, Gonzo coughed up that match.

Sjengster
10-21-2005, 10:32 PM
Yep, but he's going to be tested from the baseline in a way he hasn't been so far. Nalbandian is easily the best returner Ljubo has faced since... well, since Davydenko, but this isn't DC. He'll get a lot of serves back into play, Ivan won't be able to hit as many easy winners, and Big Dave won't make the kind of meathead errors that Gonzalez tends to at important moments. He'll save those for the final instead.

What if, instead, we get the all-time meathead final-Nalby vs. Ginepri?

No break is BS, in my opinion-bad line calls notwithstanding (if this is why you're calling the break BS). In any case, Gonzo didn't finish off this match. He was 6-4 and up a break in the second-and he failed to capitalize? Shame on him...in any case, I still see some chinks in Ljubo's armor.

Very interesting tactical encounter, since they're quite evenly matched from the baseline and both win with angles, consistency and smart play rather than power. I've no doubt we will have to put up with Nadal's best kangaroo impression instead, however.

To be honest, Gonzo coughed up that match.
I saw the match and Feña & Ljubo played great!! Feña never gave up in the match and after the 6-4 2-0 lead Ljubo realized he can't keep playing like that and he started the run!
Actually Feña played great doing backhand passing shots and great rallies!

I think if Ljubicic plays like he did in the 2nd (from 3-3) and 3rd set against Feña He is going to win tomorrow!

+alonso
10-21-2005, 11:33 PM
It's true Feña couldn't capitalize in moments but come one! He was down 15-40 serving twice and then won the game.. only his serve!
