Half man, half amazing! Don't you think you are rather over stating the acheivements of loserbitch? He's never won a slam, never won a MS title, has only 2 very minor career titles. There is nothing amazing about those results.

Ljubicic won this match because he was more steady and consistent. Fernando was serving well but his inconsistency crept in, he missed too many sitters and Ljubicic was the stronger player in the third.

*one was an ISG = just under the tms events
it's a title, not a very minor title
his title in metz was a minor title, in lyon, he beat world number 1 kuerten, and also safin
so, 2 titles, one minor title
very minor titles are challengers :p

Impressive, I witnessed the pleasure of being able to watch Ivan play for the first time in 2003 against Andy Roddick at USO in a night match (a match that was stolen from him) anyway, his game has improved even since then and he seems to be playing even higher percentage tennis. Smart move ...

This guy would have probably won 5 events this year, but Fedex was standing in his way ... let's remember that ... but he was able to push Roger to 3 sets in one of their featured matches ... so ... nice job ... it'd be wonderful if Ivan decided to show up for a slam one of these days.

He's stolen my heart this week, as I actually went to 3 of his matches, and he really tries on court, he's really good-natured too. Also, you can't see on TV the amount of his body weight (all of it) and effort (100%) that he puts into his serves and shots. Well actually, I suppose you can, but it's just more apparent.

Good run, Feña :yeah:

evanzo needs to learn that sometimes developing later is better, but then again he doesn't understand most things about tennis, so that's nothing to worry about.

Congrats Ivan! Sad for Fernando but I don't think that Ivan will be denied en route to the final.

Yes -I imagine having to flee his war-torn county when he was 13 was rather tough.

I think Ginepri could take Nadal in the semis, the way he's been performing.

Well- I am hoping for Rafa to win it all- hence my choice of words. ;) Although Nadal has a tough road ahead with Radek and then Robby "Mr. Mensa" Ginepri. (Sorry Robby fans- just teasing.)

Well, I was in a meeting so I only saw from the second set when Gonzo was up a break. My heart dropped when I saw the score. But, YAY!, to Ljubicic for pulling this out of the hole. Fantastic match and both players are to be commended.

You were very noisy the first few months of the season, then you went quiet for a while, now you are noisy again in the last few weeks. It'll also be humiliating if Ivan lost on an indoor court against someone that can only play on clay.

This was a very good match and Gonzo apart from a very sloppy tiebreaker, didn't just bash for the sake of it with no thought processes and played quite well, yet he lost the match. Ljubo just has so much confidence at the moment and he moved to the net more and stopped making the plethora of errors on his forehand.

Congrats to both guys on this enjoyable match.
