Does anyone know the record? How bout the most this year? Maybe Arthurs?

Arthurs with 111 straight holds is the record. He almost broke it this year when he got to 109 but was broken by the master of returning, Mr Agassi.

The last guy was Monfils who broke him to start the match at Metz finals.

I remember that Mardy Fish went on a serving tear in 03', right up until the u.s. open. I think it was in the 70s but that was a while ago, i may be wrong. Anyway, Ljub's stat is a very impressive one :worship:

Federer also had a lot of serve games won in a row in 2004 from Halle (108 I think) and Wimbledon and again this year from the TMC, Doha and early AO.

At the US open, he didn't lose a single point during his service games around 80 times in a row if I remember correctly. I think it was the match before Gasquet.
That was impressive as well.

It makes 20 love games in a row. Is it for real ?

Said like this I realize that I have exagerated a bit. I was more 2 sets in a row, one with a tie break.

Jerry, that steak is getting a bit overdone with the number of times you bring it up.

Come on, the steak was mentioned countless times over in the thread about Ljubo winning Vienna. And you were the one who put it on the menu first, I was quite willing to discuss streaks (e.g. of bacon) instead.

Ah, but that's the service steak - I'm talking about his winning steak, the one that you mentioned often in the other thread, and which seems to have brought him culinary plaudits the world over.

why are you talking about that in this thread. and after another win, it needs to be noted that the winning steak has be extended

Sjengster

Because whatever word you attach to it at the beginning, a steak is a steak is a steak, and its meaty contents seem to be leaking into every thread on this board. And don't worry Jerry, even the most vengeful and jealous restaurateur will be unable to halt this winning steak, it seems.

If you could care less, then you obviously care more than you intended to suggest.

Serving steak at 81, there's a packed dining room tonight for sure.

I hope so, and I want the winner to do what he failed to do last year in the final. Anybody from the bottom half would do, besides the Weasel of course. Radek aside, the top half is a Who's Who of insomnia-curing players.
