I have no idea, I just read the score on atptennis. Puerta is having an amazing year, I like his style alot so, I am happy to see him kick ass. It's just weird he would beat a great indoor player like Max.

Puerta has got the "huevos", that's for sure. Maybe he can grab a place at the Masters Cup.

If doping case is incorrect, he deserves a "good tournament". Perhaps, semi-finals?? I hope

No surprise for me at all. I always believe in Mariano. Remember he hits the ball very hard and has a good serve, really his game is suited for hard courts. The problem with many people is that if they see a player is from Latin America or Spain he is automatically labeled as a no hoper on hard and fast courts, but that is absolute rubbish. The truth is that people who grow up on clay have a better game than people who learn on hard courts. Generally, the hard court specialists cannot play on clay but for clay court players they do play well on hard courts.
For me Mariano is a phenomenal player.

Yea but Puerta had a terrible record on everything that wasn't clay until this year!

He has never won an official singles match in grass by now.

It was because he didn't play much on other surfaces except clay. in one of his interviews this year he said he will enter more non clay tournaments.

Nice stuff from Mariano, he has worked his socks off since the clay season ended and deserves a TMC place. Keep it up dude :yeah:

So then obviously the doping stuff is bogus, eh? Otherwise they surely wouldn't be letting him play.

A shocker for sure. I watched Puerta in a hopeless match against Nadal on hardcourts in Canada and he couldn't return Rafa's serve as he was trying to take the serve earlier but didn't really know how. It's amazing that he won this one but good for him.

Absolutely :) It was a fantastic win for Mariano - and just proves what a fighter he is. Beating Max on a hard court is never easy - and being able to focus and concentrate enough to do so with all these allegations flying around shows great strength of character. Well done Mariano - you're a star :worship:

Puerta did well to shrug off these allegations at least for one match. Considering Puerta isn't much of a hardcourter, a win over myrni is no small feat.
