If Nico doesn't win in Basel and Paris, he will drop down to 75/80 in the world.

I re-watched the match again. It wasn't that he was disinterested. Its that he just seemed so demoralized by the entire situation that he had no fire.

No pumping himself up. No vamosing. Not even much yelling except once.

Nico has got to dig deep and get that fire.

The time has come.

The time is now!!!

BTW - still want him to play some challengers after Paris. I know it won't happen, but he has to do something. Does he want to go into 2006 with a 75/80 ranking???? If he doesn't do it now - he's going to have to do it in 2006.

I hate being hard on him...look at that cute face ;) , who wants to be hard on him?...and unfortunately it doesn't do any good for any of us to be hard on him - someone close to him has to just lay it on the line to him.

Nico really played awful in Madrid, his backhand was the worst shot! ... I want to see him fighting again

The challerges is a good option but I'm not sure if Nico wants play there again

Nico's timing is way off because he hasn't played much. And the surface in Madrid has a weird bounce to it. But yes, he played very very very poorly. And what was worse for me was that he had absolutely no spark or fight. I can accept losing...but want him to fight at least.

And its a shame to see him lose to the likes of Chela and Calleri lately. No excuse really.

Doesn't matter if he wants to play challengers or not...when you're ranked 75/80, you don't get into tournaments. So in 2006, he can either sit out the weeks he can't get into tournaments because of his low ranking...or just do it, play a challenger, and get some points so he'll move back up.

And sooner is better than later.

Hey Fergie - just realized he only has to defend 110 points here in Basel. And 75 in Paris. If he loses at both, he'll go down to about 63/64 in the rankings. Latercera is saying 58 but don't understand how they are getting that. Maybe they know something we don't...lol!

58/63 - at this point, he needs to win, and get that ranking up back to the top 40 so he doesn't have to qualify for master series events.

I got the wrong info from Canal 13 :p ... But well at least from here to the end season will be 185 pts

I love that picture too!

This ranking system is so confusing no wonder there is wrong information! lol!

Let's just hope he wins...then it won't be a problem.

VAMOS NICO!!

YOU CAN DO IT!!

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! And get the FIRE back!

I guess that nobody except the ATP would ever know the exact information about the stupid points lol! but like you said, meanwhile we find how many points he has to defend, he needs to get some wins!!

VAMOS NICO VAMOOS!!! BRING THE FIGHTER BACK!!! :fiery:

btw I just did the same with Feña's pic lol!

VAMOS NICOLAS

I wouldn't mind if Nicolás draws Feña.. I don't want to be mean/cruel but I prefer to see Nico losing to Feña and no against anybody under his rank ;)

NicoFan
10-24-2005, 12:35 AM
I just want to see Nico win one too Alonso. I think that he'll be devastated if he goes winless in the Fall - 5 straight tournaments.

I'm watching the Rafa match now for the 3rd time (taping it for people who don't get The Tennis Channel)...and I know Nico doesn't have the talent that Rafa has (but most players don't so I don't care if he wins as much as Rafa) but he used to have that fight like Rafa did today that when he was down, he would try to fight his way back in.

I know that he's demoralized from all the sh*t from this year...and I feel bad for him. But he got to get that spark and fire back.

And I don't want him to pull Fernando - I think that it would be even more devastating for him to lose to Fernando. It would be horrid for him. And I like Fernando - don't want to have to hate him as the person who destroyed Nico's hopes yet again. ;) And they are competitive on court. (Fernando was so sweet on his interview on TTC - he said that on court that he and Nico are competitive, but off court, you have to be a good friend... so sweet )

You're right sparko, no more "good luck" no no, just wake up Nico!!!! Vamos you can do this, get that fiery back for the love of God :fiery: I'm just asking a couple of matches please please please!!! You need it!!! Vamos sweetie you can do it!!! :rocker2:

And no, please not Feña in his draw, I passed for that phase and I'm happy loving instead of hating Feña right now

btw NicoFan, 2 additions to your signature huh?? the spanish and the chile guys will kill you, you know that right?? just kidding ha ha!

NicoFan
10-24-2005, 12:12 PM
Lol! They will kill me.

Well I wanted to add Rafa and have my 4 favorites, but then thought - I can't forget Feli! lol!!!!!!!!!

So there they are with of course Nico leading the way. Who btw is really the only one who really really really counts! (angel) - btw I hate my work internet - half the time none of these smilies work here, and live tickers... (mad).

Fergie
10-24-2005, 12:18 PM
When the main draw will be available???

Fergie
10-24-2005, 12:22 PM
1st round: Nico vs Chucho Acasuso ... Why???

Main Draw: http://www.davidoffswissindoors.ch/out/tef05.htm

NicoFan
10-24-2005, 12:40 PM
Could be worse Fergie - could have gotten a seeded player.

And Nico at his best is far better than Chucho at his best - unfortunately Nico isn't at his best.

VAMOS NICO! A little fire here and you should be able to win this!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is the entire draw:

Guillermo Coria (1) vs Alberto Martin
Kristof Vliegen vs Stanislas Wawrinka
Agustin Calleri vs Razvan Sabau
Juan Ignacio Chela vs Dominik Hrbaty (5)
=================

Filippo Volandri vs Juan Carlos Ferrero (3)

NicoFan
10-24-2005, 12:41 PM
Here's the doubles draw - this one does suck big time.

(1) Bob Bryan / Mike Bryan vs (WC) Yes Allegro / Ivo Heuberger

Jose Acasuso / Guillermo Coria vs David Nalbandian / Sebastian Prieto

(3) Leander Paes / Nenad Zimonjic vs Juan Ignacio Chela / Nicolas Massu

Alex Lopez Moron / Razvan Sabau vs Domink Hrbaty / Jaroslav Levinski

Marcos Baghdatis / Paradorn Srichaphan vs (4) Stephen Huss / Wesley Moodie

Tomas Berdych / Jiri Novak vs (WC) Marc Rosset / Stanislav Wawrinka

Christophe Rochus / Tomas Zib vs (2) Wayne Black / Daniel Nestor

NicoFan
10-24-2005, 12:42 PM
And I'm just looking for him to win the first round. Don't care about the second round - he's got to get there first.

Just one win here Nico - that's all we're asking for.

You're 10 times better than Chela, and you basically handed him the win.

Don't do the same against Acasuso!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And about why aren't playing doubles together, I have no idea, and you both are right, it's kind of sad

Anyway VAMOS NICO!!! Vamos! :bounce:

Yeah, I like all of you I want to know too! What the deal?

Also like everyone else I just want to see Nico get past the first round. Get you fight back dammit Nico! I don't care if you lose, just don't give up! You're one of the best-you didn't make to #9 for no reason. You're talented and a hard worker but none of that does you any good without your fighting spirit. PLEASE return to our warrior!

(and Nicofan-my smilies aren't working either-grrrr!)

The OOP is out for Wednesday.

He's 4th up on court 2 - approximately 5:00 p.m. Basel time which will be 10:00 a.m. Mexico/CST and 11:00 a.m. NY time.

Don't know what that is Chile time because Chile's time has changed and isn't the same as NY anymore. Is it noon Chile time?

NICO won the first set 6-4!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bounce:

And on serve in the 2nd 2-2.

Most importantly, it looks like he's fighting hard. Almost broke Acasuso a 2nd time in the 1st. And got tight to serve out the match, but hung in there.

Very proud of him.

Keep it up NICO.

Poor Nico.

He fought hard though - so happy to see our fighter back - that was something I never had to think about before so it was rough seeing him play like he did in Madrid - but here, he was fighting every game. So very proud of him on that.

One more week to suffer through.

And then he can start all over again.

Now I'm going to go cry. :bigcry: :bigcry: :bigcry:

Well, it was so close this time, the good thing, like Sparko said, it's that he gots his fiery back, I know that he'd loved to win this but I'm very proud of the way he played today, he's on his way. I read that he was playing very well so hopefully he'll take the good things from today's match.

Love ya Nico very much!!! and we'll support you 'till the end of time!!
