:woohoo: Beat both Rochus brothers, funny he should have played Malisse in the QFs, then it would have been a real Belgian massacre :tape:.

Rochus was interviewed in the latest edition of Tennis Magazine (French Version). He was highly critical of players who take steroids and other illegal drugs to boost their performance and confirmed that he and his brother had a feeling that Canas was taking steroids because everytime he played against him, Canas was never tired after playing long rallies. Rochus says that he suspects that other players who play lously on the tour but who have extra energy at the French Open also take steroids. He did not give names but it looks like he was talking about Puerta.

Excellent match for James. Just the sort of match he used to lose, losing it would have been a real momentum-squasher.

Hopefully he can win the tournament and get into the Madrid draw (one more wd I think is what he needs) and keep winning.

James can't get into Madrid now. Now that Qualifying has started, I guess any withdrawals from this point on are filled with lucky losers. That's what I've read a couple places.

But he's going and playing doubles with Andy and stuff so that's good for him. This is better for him than playing Madrid anyway, I think:)

YAY James :) Now win the final :D:D

Blake's obvious talent should make his trips into SF's and F's seem routine. I hope he can continue this next year.

Yeah, got up at 6 am to watch it. The match was of extremely high quality with incredible exchanges. Rochus tried to break down Blake's backhand, so the trademark of the match was long backhand rallies of a very high tempo. The rhythm they got going was some of the fastest I have ever seen. Blake was serving very very well, and I'm not sure he would have won with an average serve. Rochus played extremely well, and very smart to keep the ball away from Blake's forehand, cause once Blake could set up his forehand...Rochus could think about the next point right away. Compared to the second semi between Sanguinetti and Srichaphan, this was light years better, and if Blake keeps this level for tomorrow I guarantee you we will win. As he was playing today, only Federer would have a chance against him.

Glad to hear that it was a high quality match.

If James wins the final I think he would have just nailed down being named the ATP Comeback Player of the Year. Heck- who am I kidding- you have to think that he already has that award sewn up.

;) :p

but seriously, I can't think of anyone else who was injured/out/whatever for a large portion of last year and has done good stuff this year. Considering 6 months ago almost exactly James was out of the top 200 and he'll likely end the year in the top 30..... yea. :p
