Another why Federer is so damn good thread.

What makes Federer so damn good ?

Well, the fact that obviously has one hell of a work ethic. I don't think he's been blessed with the most athletic genes, look at his father, not a very tall or muscular man at all. He appears to be about 5'6" and yet, Roger has made his way nearly to 6'2, also Roger grew up idolizing the likes of Edberg and Becker. Real tennis players, with a strategy, let's not forget that he idolizes Laver's career accomplishments to this day.

Roger is quite ordinary and practical when it comes to his classically remodeled strokes, his beautiful footwork, that has only been mimicked by one as graceful as Suzanne Lenglen, the first real champion in Women's Tennis of the 1920. He is not the quickest of foot, but it is not speed that matters as much as agility, anticipation and ball placement. Roger has impeccable control, he simply is playing the game with:

A). The movement of Suzanne Lenglen.
B). The accuracy/efficiency of a assassin, ready to strike at all times from anywhere on the court.
C). Classic strokes, ready to pick you apart, with his superior technical skill.

In an age when ball bashing has become the norm, Roger Federer will not give in, he refuses to play a game for the simple of mind & foot. He is the intellect's tennis player. It's like having a player from 1930 possessing all the brilliant characteristics of old timers like Bill Tilden and throwing him into a pit full of hungry lions with no clue how to play tennis ... but plenty of clue how to hit the ball ... um ... really hard. Yeah. Great. (Hi Roddick, Hi Matheiu, any other ball-bashers I forgot?)

Federer will never be caught or exposed, barring some serious illness or health ailment I challenge anyone to pose even a slight threat to the great Swiss Champion. It's important that even during a time of absence, people still acknowledge: King Federer reigns supreme. :)

The bottom line is that Federer doesn't take anything for granted. He doesn't rely on his serve or his volley game. He works on all of it. He works hard. He doesn't believe any one thing is a gimme because of any other part of his game. He is a complete player and that is the way it should be. Look at all the greats. None of them relied on any one thing. It was a totality of their game that won them the greatest matches.

Roger makes tennis fun to watch again, the same way Hingis did on the Women's side, before her unfortunate retirement.

That is true. Whether you love him or hate him, if you're a true tennis fan, you HAVE to watch him because he is so exciting to watch. I like to watch Roddick because of his service game, I like many other players because of certain aspects of their game but Federer, I love to watch him because if his opponent does NOTHING to actually BEAT him, Federer will win. Federer has that ability to bring out the best in other players and if they don't bring out their best, then they go home quickly.

He has about 7,100 posts more than I... Although I have been a member here for only a week or two.

Is no one inspired by Agassi? I love to watch him go out there and bring his best... Well, I watched Lendl, King, Navratilova, Courier, Graff, Becker, Sampras, Connors, McEnroe, Borg, etc all my life so in every aspect of tennis, there is inspiration. Always the older ones trying to beat the younger ones, the best trying for one more win, etc.. It's all a struggle whether you are up and coming or on your way out... It's about the fight.. The one thing that seperates you from the others... The struggle.. There are always fans, always inspiration and you can only appreciate that if you've played the game. :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

It's easy to have 7,000 + posts, when you troll the board and give silly responses making goofy faces that shouldn't even count as anything other than a waste of space on the board ...

Talking about trolling around, you probably are the most trolling person on this board.

What exactly do you know about tennis ? If you knew anything about tennis, then you'd realize: Nothing regarding my initial post was bullshit. That was all facts, 77 - 3 record proves it. 2 Grand Slams proves it.

I mean, kiddo, give me a break. Your nickname even proves it, now all of a sudden you've been converted and Federer is the anti-christ that is "too perfect" to have any supporters.

You contribute bullshit to this thread, go back into one of your little vanity threads and post mindless babble there. You've yet to contribute anything beneficial or with regard to anything significant here.

Why is anything I've said bullshit, explanation ? Put up or shut up.

Molto grazie.

Not stupid at all, you've yet to state one fact.

You came to this thread with a bullshit sign, acting like it actually has some basis in reality and then when asked to back it up, give me some bogus response with absolute non-sense like "you worship him" ... your existence on this board I find irritating and you're a slight nuisance. I just find you to be the biggest blithering bafoon here. Federer_Express, yet you're Anti-Federer, can you for once conjure up a post that has some basis in reality ? Your specialty seems to be anything NOT involving significant or current events in the tennis world. I find your agenda both lame and atypical of cyberspace trolls.

He can play a combination of offense and defense better than any great player before him. He's also the smartest player on tour in my opinion and that is rare for someone who can rely on so much natural ability.

See, I was right.

You call me a troll? I do post shit overall?

Sorry mate, you're talking about yourself.

No, there's a difference. People don't like what I post, so I get labeled a troll.

Let's see, what's the most outrageous thing I've said ? Andy Murray's game is too conservative at times and he's overhyped ? Rafael Nadal won't survive the 1st week of the Open? Federer has much more variety in his game ?

Stop me anytime, I'm just curious. I don't sugar code anything, facts are facts. It's not bothersome to me that I'm being labeled a troll by people with Nadal as an avatar, they've probably read what I've said in relation to him before and disagree. So what ?

I'm not bias, show me where it says that ... I just live in reality and I'm not that nice about it, so I suppose those are grounds for a troll.

Good Day, Mate. Bloody hell, I guess I must be a troll!
