Its official... The FFT has just announced it. I think it's a wise decision but it will hurt not to be able to see him play for 3 months.

Good decision. This will give him time to work on his fitness, and he'll be all the fresher for 2006. Allez, Richie! :)

Richard had a great year, in a sense it is sad that he gets this injury at the time he could enter top 10. He should get well, work on his fitness and he will make top 10 for sure in 2006.

It is sad, obviously the elbow was bothering him a lot at the USO though, and better that he rest up for the Aussie season, and come back strong next year. He won't have any points to defend until the clay season, so he can still definitely make top 10 next year.

It's sad, but probably for the best. I think he'll have enough time not only to heal his injury properly but also to work on his fitness and possibly mental issues, hope he takes it seriously and comes back in 2006 kicking major ass (Fed not included) :)

All my favorite one-handers are out of the indoor season (actually, all my favorites) as Fed, Gasquet and Justine aren't playing, injured. Shit. =/

Same here. His elbow injury seems serious therefore i think he made the right decision.

What do you think will be his yearend ranking if he will not play anymore tournament this season??

I just hope that his elbow will be completely healed this time and that he will take advantage of this time off to work on his fitness.

It's wise to have listened to your daddy and the docs Richard.
Smart decision. :yeah:
Those three months will be hard though.
And the 0 point at the two last MS will hurt his ranking...

Kick ass in 2006, Richard! :bounce:

Well, think of it this way. He will have some breathing space when it comes to the indoor season next year. ;)

It's a good decision I reckon, I'd like to have seen him at Bercy yet. :(

A very good year for Richie, I didn't expect that much at the beginning of it. Too bad he missed the beginning of it because of chicken pox and that the end of it was disturbed by his elbow. A real full year hopefully and better physical condition should put him on another level in 2006. That's the plan!

I'm so glad I'm not going to Madrid or Paris, now. Richard would have been one of the main arttractions for me.

Good decision Richard, will miss watching you, but rest up well and get ready for a new onslaught in 2006! :yeah:

Im kind of glad sort of not. I mean im sad to not be able to watch him at madrid. But Id rather him rest his elbow and be a 100% for next year. The season is almost over anyway, so its not like were missing that much.

Good luck Richie! sad to see he's not playing due to an injury, but its all good that he's resting his arm and working on his fitness. Want him to make a fighting comeback next year and create a huge dent in the rankings :D lol

Done the right thing here and needs to build himself up after he has recovered from the injury. Had a fine 2005, but the long-term gain is more important than the short term.
