Olivas loses for the 49th time in his last 50 matches, this time to Cristian Villagran of Argentina. The good news is that Josh gets an ATP singles point for playing in the maindraw of the challenger and we can be sure of seeing him in the quallies of ATP and challenger events for at least another year. Josh and another American guy by the name of Carleton Florentino prevailed upon the tournament director in Quito to give them main draw wildcards, not the first time Olivas has had a WC at an Ecuadorean event.

And the Association of Tennis Professionals is infinitely better because of this.

Poor guy...maybe he needs to have "bye" across the net from him so that he can gain a few more points.

Hey, don't just print the bad news. Do the guy justice. He got to a tiebreak in the first round of doubles, before going down 6-7,0-6.
He played with Masishka Washington. Wonder how he gets people to agree to play with him? So that some of the charisma will rub off I suppose.

I've been lucky enough to see Mashiska Washington play twice now, he is a force. Let us hope that this mentor/protegee relationship between these two works out.
