Deivid said recently that ATP Vienna no longer exists for him because of its most recent champion. I respectfully submit a similar motion in light of Lisnard making the quarters this year.

Well, it could be worse, imagine that Lisnard defeated Schalken, then Sjeng would no longer exist for you

Austrian players = :haha:

Lisnard isn't capable of playing a great match. Or even a greaattt match.

Both were as bad as each other.

Nah, Schalken's doing a very good job of disappearing by himself without any help from another player.

I remember vividly Lisnard's match against Federer at the 2003 US Open, where he was drubbed 1, 2 and 0 in about an hour. OK, you might say it was just an unfair contest where a little guy got completely overpowered, but he made something like 40% of first serves for the whole match and served an astounding 4 double faults in one game. Clement has unbelievable speed and a great backhand, Rochus has both of those plus superb touch... what on earth does Lisnard have that's keeping him in the Top 100?

This is a true sign that the end of men's tennis is near. :help:

Melzer :o Proves winning his singles rubbers at DC playoffs was a fluke. Definitely a Top 5 headcase. Won't win a title unless he can turn things around (like hire a sports psychologist).

 Not sure which is more surprising, Lisnard or Schuettler making the QFs this week.

Haha, Melzer's talent is nowhere around top five, even at his absolute best. He's top 20 playing his best.

The credibility of the ATP Tour has been lessened.

it was 7-6(4), BTW ;)

Yeah, bad result for Melzer of course. But anybody who saw the match will have noticed that Lisnard didn't play soooo bad and that he isn't so bad like many of you want to see him if playing like that and getting an opponent who has some presents for him. I don't know why some of you here think it's the end of the world when Lisnard wins a match, makes a quarterfinal  Maybe it would be if the great and untouchable Roger Federer himself had lost :o but not with Melzer ;)

Melzer is still lots of very up and down and despite not playing well for the 2nd match in a row he tried to do what he was able to do on this bad day with this performance, unfortunately couldn't finish the match earlier with the match point. Another final set tiebreak, this time he lost the roll of dice.

Even Muster, with his advanced age and incredibily comical hairline, could beat Lisnard, not sure what Melzer was thinking out there....

That is just fucking awful. Lisnard's game is a complete joke. Mind you Melzer is irritating as well he takes great players out in the early rounds and then weakens the tournament by playing like shite in the next round to a journeyman.
