So strange, Davide seems to continue his outstanding season. I saw that the vienna points are not yet comming of this week so this is his chance to go the top 40 for the first time in his career!! is he the only veteran to achieve this in his career??

Great comeback from Davide - I became a fan after seeing some incredible scenes in his match against Paradorn at the US Open. No doubting that he has a will to win above many other players.
As to your question, I don't know exactly what you mean
If you mean, and it is more likely, that he is the first veteran to reach a career high ranking at his age, probably not...although a name doesn't spring to my mind at the moment. Pozzi was better at about 33-34. But yeah, as a rule most players are declining at his age.

Hey its not like Bastl is a tennis god or something :) It's already awsome, that he made it to a third set against someone like Sanguinetti. Congrats to the winner.

yeah but pozzi was not in ranked around 40 i think. and sanguinetti was there already 2 times earlier. but now at 33 he is reaching a real peak again. that is the thing i mean.

Well he has reached a peak at a lower level...look at Agassi...his ranking may not be going up (large points differences in top 10) but he is still able to reach GS finals.

but agassi was always good already!! i find it so strange that a player of his age (sanguinetti's) is reaching maybe his all time best ranking at this stage of his career. when will it be over???

Well done davide. He's starting to reach his peak by the looks of things. May the good form carry on!
