NHL Saturday

NHL YTD: 4-8 (-6.5 units)

Rough start. Hopefully will bounce back here.

5* Florida Panthers/Tampa Bay Lightning Under 6.5 (-135)

Should be a tight game here. I just don't see these two teams scoring many goals in this one especially with the red hot Luoungo in net. Last night's game finished 2-0 between these two teams. You might see 2 or 3 more goals but I don't think it'll break the 6 mark. I'm pretty sure Burke will be starting for the Lightning and from what I've read it looks like Luongo will be starting for the Panthers. Took the 6.5 for insurance.

1* New York Islanders (-123) Over Carolina Hurricanes

The Islanders win is to win in regulation. The Isles have always been a very good home team. Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum will be packed tonight and the players will feed off of that. The Isles performance wasn't terrible in the first game but they'll need to improve. One thing is for sure the Isles will be able to score this season. Carolina played an OT game yesterday so they aren't the freshest of teams. Cam Ward will be starting in net for them again and he was extremely impressive in his first start. The Islanders are traditionally a strong home team and I don't think that will change this season. -200 is ridiculous for the home win but -123 in regulation is quite reasonable.

1* New Jersey Devils (-175) Over New York Rangers

The Devils win is to win in regulation, OT or shootout. Devils have traditiionally played really well versus the Rangers. In preseason these two teams split there two meetings. Rangers played two very good games to start the season as I believe teams have underestimated them a bit. The Devils will be looking to bounce back after blowing a 2 goal lead last night the Flyers. Line is a bit higher then I like here but I think the Devils will shut down the Rangers here.

1* Ottawa Senators (-1) (-167) Over Buffalo Sabres

The Goaline here is to win in regulation, OT or shootout. Ottawa managed to sneak past Toronto in the opener in the first ever shootout. Ottawa played solid D and got there two goals from star Daniel Alfredsson. Spezza and Heatley both also played well along with goalie Dominik Hasek. So far through two games the Sabres have been excellent. They've outscored the Islanders and Bruins 10-5 and goaltender Ryan Miller has been superb. Buffalo is playing for the 2nd night in a row now on the road. I look for them to come down a bit from there first two games. Ottawa is solid enough here to win in there home opener.

Good Luck to All!!!!
