NHL YTD: 3-5 (-3.4 units)
Well not the start I wanted. Flames and the Flyers dissapointed me yesterday. Tonight's a new night and hopefully will get some back. Thinking about the Kings/Coyotes Over but waiting for the 5.5 line to come out at 5Dimes.
1* Detroit Red Wings (-170) Over St. Louis Blues
The Red Wings win is to win in regulation, OT and shootout. The main reasoning for this pick is not the fact that Detroit beat STL at home last night 5-1 although it does have something to do with it, but it was the way the Red Wings shut them down. The Blues only managed 14 shots the entire game including just 3 in the 3rd period. That shot total is just not acceptable in the new NHL. The Red Wings did a solid job shutting down the attack of the Blues not allowing them to gain the blue line. Blues are looking at a down year this season and I don't expect things to get much better from last night even though there at home. I think the Red Wings do the job again at St. Louis.
