Why isn't there a pre-defined image of Robby for an avatar?

You can have my shirtless practice forehand avatar if you like. I don't think I'll be using it again once I get my USO photos developed. On the other hand, Eowyn is one of those graphic people and has the talent to make you just about anything you want.

Welcome to the board Mae.

mae would you like a young robby? a now robby? or a shirtless robby?

Thanks for the welcome fee. And I think I would like a now Robby, however, if you can find a shirtless now Robby that would be even better. Aren't I awful  but the first thing I noticed about Robby was his muscles ;) I kind of started looking at his shoes and worked my way up--what a body :worship: See I told you I could get carried away :D

Oh trust me, I have to restrain myself every time I'm near him. I just use the excuse that I'm massaging his shoulders  And now that he's even stronger and fitter, he looks even better. If he would just do something about that hair...

Here's my Av if you want to use it

That's a good question, Mae...perhaps not enough board support yet??

16681

So how do we get board support? I think each player that has a site here on the board should have an avatar. Or would that just be too many players?

Éowyn
10-05-2005, 12:24 AM
no point really theres too many boards and they haven't updated those avs in ages plus there are plenty of people willing them to make them for you! i have the avs r us thread (linke din my sig) and lots of other people have similar things

go to your user control panel and select edit avatar!

where it says edit avatar url simply copy and paste the url of the avvy you want to use

that woudl be http://www.gineprifans.com/media/icons/140x140/3.jpg for the top one

or http://www.gineprifans.com/media/icons/140x140/4.jpg for the 2nd one

At least if Robby loses his match tomorrow it will be against a top 10 player and not a player like Murray or Phau... :o it's times like those where I can't figure him out...but I really hope Robby just sends Nikolay packing! :D

andy is suffering from a severe post wimbledon hangover, as i predicted he would when he lost the final and was blatantly ignored and insulted for bmaking such predictions (however truthful) he'll come back from it but he needs to have the time to get his head together. since wimbly he's had pretty much the 2 decent runs and thats it! he needs to get his head sorted and he'll come back! the fans are harsh on him! the trolls are well just pathetic and everyones treating him like he killed someone but he'll come through it in the end

LOL Andy didn't really believe he was going to beat Roger at Wimbledon, did he? As you know by now I'm not a fan either! I don't think he "killed someone" , but I personally think he got a big head after winning the U.S. Open and then Roger came up with his big game and now Andy is left behind and I don't think he can deal with it. Aren't I awful  But I love wobby ;) And I have to find the time to try to learn more about Mario. The last time I looked I found only old information, but he did interest me. And then I never got the chance to go to your site. But I think my heart will always belong to wobby ;)

see i love andy, always have always will in fact i started supporting robby and andy the same day over 5 years ago now :)

but having watched him all that time i have got to the point of reading what he does and whats he's going to do pretty well and it was just obvious watching him he was gonna suffer after wimbledon, he had the mini decent run off course as he always will do on a hardcourt but was obviosuly stil suffering.

he'll get over it though just so long as he doesn't end up like my dear paulo, poor baby took ages to recover from the davis cup loss then finally starts to pull himself together and it happens again

Andy's fans (well at least a lot of them), are definitely harsh on him and even sadistic at times because they say the most horrible things about him when he loses, even though they are simultaneously obsessed with him...I say this because if I were Andy and I came on this board to read what my "fans" were saying, I wouldn't want to see, "Look what you did you little @#%&, why are you doing this to me???, your such a little !@$% sometimes...get your !@%%* act together" In fact, for Andy's sake, I hope he never comes to these forums...it's best he not have even MORE to get depressed about...

that would be one of the main reasons i don't go to the andy forum (or mardys for that matter) anymore i'm fed up of it! and when it is the forum moderater who is doing it more than anyone! yes debs i do mean you deal with it! i just find it sad and i think andy deserves better. I mean andy was mean to me but i'll still supporting to the end of the earth and i think he deserves alot more than the so called support he gets!

it's partly what worries me about robby! so many new fans suddenly appearing i wonder if they will still be around if his form drops again! robby deserves the support

i think the defination of a fan is not the same as it used to be anymore unfortunately it now apparently means "suporting player when winning but slagging off when losing"

I'm behind Robby 100%. But I think part of the trouble with Andy and his fans
was he didn't used to get beat by players that he really should beat, but now he does that a lot anymore. I know in a given Tournament you are going to have upsets from time to time. After all that is why the word upset is around. It's just that Andy seems to be making a habit of being on the wrong end of the score board right now. And I hope Robby is getting the habit of being on the right end of the scoreboard now ;)

Éowyn
10-20-2005, 03:20 PM
all players do that robby does it all the time! he often beats he players he shouldn't and then loses to players he should destroying! he's not the only one believe me! god knows mario does it ALOT.
and i half worry that robby is going to pick up the andy deserters and i don't want that!

I support people through the good times and the bad...I mean obviously, if someone I supported literally quit playing or something, I would have to move on, but as long as Robby is still playing tennis, I will support him through good times and bad times... :) I still do the same for Andy whenever he plays, I am rooting for him all the way, and I think I handle his losses with maturity...unlike a lot of his "fans"...

16681
10-20-2005, 05:34 PM
I guess with the "fans" Andy has I will just shut up about
him because with "fans" like he has he doesn't need any
"non-fan" to give him a hard time.

lol, nothing! I just mean, for me, there won't be anything to support as a spectator of their tennis once they quit playing...Sure, I'll support his achievements and his future life outside of tennis, but I would move on to give my 'spectator' support to someone who is still playing tennis... :yeah:

Well Pete still has a site on this Forum. But I agree with you again idolwatcher1. Unless you just stop watching tennis when someone you support stops playing there
wouldn't be any point in just following the sport without someone to support at least IMO. I know I wouldn't enjoy that, but to each his/her own ;) And I don't think we have to worry about not having someone to support for a long time. Robby should be around for some time :D

Considering that it is one of the most popular forums on this board, I don't have a problem with it. Seems the people in there like to keep in touch with each other and Pete still generates news from time to time. I think we can spare a little bit of room for the greatest tennis player so far (or one of the greatest).

Well isn't it nice that we all don't think alike this world would be a very dull place, if we did. But I think there are other places that his group could gather if they want to keep in touch. I think once a player has retired from tennis he should be retired from a Forum for active tennis players. But that is just IMO, so if others don't agree that is fine with me

There are all kinds of places for groups on the internet.
Yahoo has groups, MSN has groups just to name a couple.
I just think when a player has formally retired from tennis that they no longer belong in a Tennis Forum like this one
no matter how well they played tennis. And again this is just IMO.

Fee
10-22-2005, 05:22 AM
Right, but groups are annoying and it can be very hard to follow a variety of topics in a group. Almost every tennis related Yahoo group I belong to has died in favor of boards and forums, including this one. Having space here allows the Sampras fans to discuss an assortment of topics related to Pete, and for people who don't have an email address, the board is much more convenient than a Yahoo or MSN group.

Yes, but you would think that people would be alittle more careful in what they say. I mean once you become a member of the MTF you can go anywhere in the Forum. So it's not like our GF site which is by itself and closed off to other people. I mean you can go anywhere and read any place you want here. Well I know yet another place that I'm staying out of. So I think I'm just going to stay only in here ;)

lmao mae it's our GF now is it :) glad i'm not the only person who refers to it in plural lmao! i always post updates as we.

andywhobies i feel i must comment on the whole other places to post thing! basically msn groups in general suck! with the exception of villa moya i have not seen a decent one!

and yahoo groups ! well i used to run one for orlando that ran alongside my site for him and it was just a dman nightmare trying to keep up! yahoo has no proper spam protection if you go to the robby yahoo group you will see it is all spam for "get proper credit" and "get a better erection" (maybe they know something about robby we don't :tape: ) but generally they suck! forums are much more easier to keep up with and mtf is nice that you can have them all in the one place! and i disagree that when someone retires we should stop talking about them. i often like to look back at what goran has done in the past and remember things well and keep track of him on the seniors tour! and as one of the few people who loves anna kournikova i also like discussing her on wtaworld if you go by what you are saying it would suggest that i could not do either and that would be sad for me :awww:

16681
10-23-2005, 04:29 AM
Well as I said I'm glad everyone in this world doesn't think alike or it would be a boring world and who would want that :p But on the whole I just obviously view things differently than some of the rest of you do. I don't hold on
to people and maybe that is wrong of me, but once someone has retired even if I really was a fan of that person I move on. I think maybe it has to do alot with America being team oriented. And players in other sports move around all the time from team to team. So you stay loyal to the team, but the team is not always made up of the same people. So I apply that to tennis and I say loyal to tennis and to the players that are playing at the time, but once they are retired that is that. Gee that sounds kind of cold, but that is the way I feel. That is not to say that I don't remember what they did, but I wouldn't be in a site talking about a retired player myself. So I'm glad Robby is young, healthy, and I hope he has a very long career ;)

Sorry I didn't mean that to be offense, but I think since you have been a member of this Forum much longer than I have you probably already know which player's area I was in especially since I said an active American player.

I'm unsure of the thread title and besides titles get changed in that area. I will give you a P.M.

he's been friends with mario since he was 10 (that is mario was 10 not goran obviously :p) and is kind ofa surrogate brother as mario called him!

he is one of the only players i will refer to as a legend! he's probably my all time fave! and one of the reasons ifirst staretd watching mario is coz when i saw him play the wimbledon juniors is coz he reminded me so mcuh of goran

American that I am I hadn't noticed the letter "U" being a problem. But I know in my area of the country leaving off a
"g" is very common. Instead of saying leaving like I posted it when it is spoken it comes out leavin.

Éowyn
11-05-2005, 02:39 AM
thats done everywhere though! but the taking of u out words is very common with you guys!

colour, harbour, honour, etc etc!

plus they decide to take a sport commonly known as rugby, put funny suits on and call it american football and as such have to then rename what is known as football all around the world to soccer for no apparent reason  silly people! and yet still most of my fave players come from there :p

LOL I'm sorry, but now whenever I don't understand a post or someone doesn't understand a post I wrote I keep thinking about how we must use proper English and make our posts clear :p I thought when you posted about "U" that you were meaning when we talked, but you meant when we spelled! And I don't know how that came about?
And you know sometimes I will spell words the way they are spelled in England. And people around me here in the U.S. don't understand that! And you also have me on why American football is called football and we call what everyone else in the world calls "football" soccer! It makes no sense to me  But I love England always have even if I haven't been there! That is where my families roots come from so I guess I still feel that bond ;) And what is that quote that "America and Great Britain are two great nations separated by a common language"! I don't know where that quote comes from, but we can indeed be separated by a "common language"

lol my friend in america got failed in her english class for spelling things the english wasy LMAO! she blamed me coz she speaks to me on aim so much she started typing the wnglish spellings. but funny you can fail for spelling something correctly haha! depste what microsoft would you have believe there is no such thing as american-english

16681
11-05-2005, 03:14 AM
Sorry about your friend, but that still is funny! I think my spelling started because I would read books about English people written by English writers so the words would be spelled as they are in England. So I picked up the English spelling and when you add that to the fact that I'm a very poor speller anyway I have confused more than my fair share of people
