Thread for Murray haters to make their apologies

Here is a thread for Murray haters to apologise for bashing him.

Just about every player has haters here. It happens. No one needs to apologise for anything.

I'm not sure the thread starter is a Murray fan or hater. Starting a thread like this will only make posters stereotyping Murray fans as immature or worse, stupid.

I don't really think Murray will be top ten, maybe right outside the top ten, but not much higher IMO

Why should I apologise  Yes - of course it's a good achievement to get into the Top 100 (even though today's win was over a man just coming back from injuries and with a fair amount of personal stuff going on to worry him and distract him at the moment) - but beating Soderling still doesn't mean I have to like Murray, nor suddenly see him as the next World Number 1

Well every player has their haters.

This isn't shutting Andy's haters up as their dislike of him has nothing to do with his talent, more they think he is arrogant and they make up 'facts', 'oh he said Nalbandian is shit', 'Wawrinka's backhand is better than his forehand' must be arrogant then, yawn yawn yawn...

MURRAY MISSES OUT ON WILD CARD

Tournament organisers have confirmed Andy Murray will have to qualify for the Madrid Masters in October.

Rising star Murray, the runner-up to Roger Federer in the Thailand Open in Bangkok last week - an achievement which saw him leap to 72 in the rankings - will not be granted one of the three wild cards.

They have been allocated to Spaniards Albert Costa and Fernando Verdasco with the third being selected by the readers of sports daily Marca, who must decide between Alberto Martin, Nicolas Massu and James Blake.

The main draw gets under way on October 17 with qualification set to start two days earlier.

Tournament organisers have confirmed Andy Murray will have to qualify for the Madrid Masters in October.

Maybe it's just a matter of writing, but it's quite surprising this sentence " Tournament organisers have confirmed Andy Murray .....".

Tournament organisers have confirmed the 2-3 WC's, but they haven't ruled out expressly Murray...,they haven't said anything about Murray . They have just ruled out Murray indirectly , the same case like hundred of players in ATP ( All the players without ranking enough to qualify have been ruled out indirectly)

Maybe it's just a matter of interpretation but reading that sentence i understand that the journalist meant that tournament organisers had been thinking in Murray till the last moment and finally they decided Murray didn't deserve this WC and even the organisers have talked about Murray in a press conference

Nowadays Murray isn't so important inside the ATP to believe that a Master series ( with 48 players of draw size ) tournament organisers were thinking in Murray to give him a WC..
Andy has a very good future, but nowadays he isn't so important...

According to my opinion , Murray would derserve more to be in that poll than players like Massu and Monfils watching the lastest results , and i also think that he deserves a WC to play the qualifying .

ClaycourtaZzZz.

 Who got a WC into Cincinnati?!

Where Murray was born ??? , I meant , a not Anglo-Saxon Masters Series ...Do you think Murray had got a WC in Cincy being bulgarian ??

By the way, i have just made a correction in my previous message clarifying i was talking about Masters series with a draw size of 48 player, not about masters series like Miami or Indian Wells

R.Federer

Yes it is true he does not need one, but it surely would have helped him if he were to get one. Then he is less tired by the time he reaches main draw, and can do better (like in Thailand, no evidence of fatigue at all).

But I also agree that there should be some system for WC - nationality of the player and where the tournament is, is defacto one consideration. After that, maybe players who did well there previously

skel1983
10-05-2005, 03:49 PM
The Article is a NON story

If they had bothered doing research they would have found out
that Murray has been entered into a Challenger in Kolding
in the same week

Under ATP rules he cant pull out of Challenger and then enter Madrid instead.

I believe Sky TV will be using their influence to give him a wildcard into Paris

Is that right???

That's quite funny if thts's true, because Mark Petchey was quoted in one of the English Tabloids, saying Andy will be now looking to Madrid and Paris for the remainder of the year.

Galaxystorm

I believe Sky TV will be using their influence to give him a wildcard into Paris

Murray also receives the help of a TV to get WC's ????

If this fact was true it will be very sad for tennis spirit ....I still remember when Nadal being the" 48th " in the entry ranking when he was just 17 in 2003 didn't receive WC's to play in Canada or Cincy

It seems Murray is a Golden boy and maybe the next new will be " Blair helps Murray ..."

Sky TV pay alot of money (not sure on the figure) to cover the Masters Series events. Naturally they want some return on the money they're paying. That means higher ratings. At the moment Murray is the focus of British tennis, and a guaranteed ratings winner. That's why Sky will continue to use their influence with regard to Murray as often as possible.
