:yippee: :woohoo: It is settled, I am going to France next year in May! :bounce: :bigclap: I can't wait. I have never been to France before (what a shame) actually it's the first time I go somewhere out of the country that is not my and my parent's hometown, but I am very excited. right now I am reading a book about France. It is really interesting. oh I can't wait. I am also going to Spain, but this is a frenchman's forum, so I am going to keep it French. Anyway, so do you guys have any advice (or feel like junping with me) since some of you reside in France. For those of you that reside in France, how is an everyday life to you? I am sure it some what different than people from my hometown or Americans. Please respond

But more in the south (Marseille, u should go there, its sooooo so so so beautiful there) then in Paris.. And little things like pain and baguettes make me very happy :p

i am envioussssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But Congrats~~~ Hope you have a great life there (you will be I am sure ;) )

In fact I should be having a chance to spend a year in France but my school did not allow me to apply to the scholarship. They told me, "You are a 2nd year here and the scholarships will be given to Year 1 students!" However other universities give it to year 2 students, I lost my chance to Sorbonne :(:(:(

In fact my school organize some exchange programme as well, but they send only Business students to France... what the hell!?!?!?!?

Now I am looking for some 1 year French language programme, but things in France are very very very expensive... Hmmmmmmmm  I checked out some schools in Provence... but I can't understand much of the websites... :awww:

FRANCE...........................Arrgrgrggrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

well i went with a goup from my school during my last year of high school. we went for the first term so it was about 3 and half months long. the school we went to was in Grenoble, and basically we each lived with a host family whose kids went to school at the same school we were visiting. we had most of our classes with them, completely in french, except for a few classes that we did with a teacher who came with us from our school, these classes were for special requirements that our school had since it was a private school, but those classes were also all in french. once a week we'd go on trips to see important sights in and around the Grenoble area, to learn the history of the place etc. i was pretty nervous about going at first, but i really ended up loving my host family. at first it was tough getting used to speaking only french, because no matter how many classes you've taken it's so different getting used the pace and slang of natural speakers. other than that i don't really know what to tell you, it was fun. make sure wherever you go and whatever you do to take LOTS of pictures, and try to experience anything you can about the culture etc. :)

I've only been through a little bit of France, but I can tell you that Nice is a really fun, lovely city to visit if you are going to be in the south of France. The restaurants have good food and there are a lot of young people on the Promenade des Anglais (sp?) at nights, also there are plently of nice places to stay for not much money.

Where do you go, french guru ? Paris ? The south ?
I hope u'll enjoy your french trip. Sprry but I can't give you advices, I'm not objective because I don't have the same image of my country, I'm french... I just hope you won't be too disapointed by french people, I know it's sometimes the case, you know, we're not known for being very welcoming with foreigners. :awww: (maybe the barrier of language).
If you have questions about Paris (what to visit) etc...you can PM me. :)

don't worry I think understand. I am learning French, though. I am going in a group and we will certainly go to Paris and Marseille. we are also going to eat at restaraunts, cafes, etc. After that most of us are going on our own. well thanks for helpfulness :) the reason I am excited is because I am able to go somewhere away from the routine of this place (U.S) I like to places I have never gone and experience many cool things. I have loved the traveling I have done. anyways. talk to you later. :) :wavey:

No i am not going there as an exchange student, I am going on behalf of a club (French club or/and Spanish club). For those who want to go have to pay money (of course we aren't going for free). I am learning French right now, but the lady in charge of the French club is going to help those who are not familiear weith French. but I think it is best if I learn French before I get there. anyways, thanks for asking. :)

Merci Marine (hmmmm i have forgotten 80% of French lately... after a long long vacation  )
And French guru I agree with you. If you go to a place without understanding what their people talking about, you will be confused~ it's a good idea to know some French before going. ;)
Anyway, BON VOYAGE!!! :wavey:

yea during July and Aug I spent 3 weeks in New Zealand. The place was really great... really beautiful and it's a country that you can try out different things- skydive, bungy jump, skiing etc. I really love the skiing idea but I didn't have time to do that :(
ok a pic to share~
