I thought you were mad when you put Champions League Thursday, but I guess it is for you over at the other side of the world ;)

Remember, Inter v Rangers is being played in front of an empty stadium, Inter aren't allowed fans after what happened last season.

I'll let you know my plays later.

BG is a die hard aussie born indian KOP :p wait it doesnt sound rite

if u ask me about this match... this is how i put it... liverpool has a past history and chelsea has unlimited money so this match is going to be history vs unlimited money and my pick is going to be on unlimited money... and this match can either be a 0 - 0 match or it might be a 1 - 2 match so i dont think under 2.5 has any value in it... over 2.5 is a good small bet...

AC milan under looks good but these 2 teams have never played each other before

1Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho has urged football's authorities to introduce goalline technology as soon as possible after admitting he will never forget how Liverpool's controversial winner robbed his side of a place in the Champions League final last season.

Liverpool beat Chelsea in the semi-final, second leg on Merseyside with a disputed winner from Luis Garcia but the Portuguese coach will never accept the ball crossed the line.

Mourinho's view that Garcia's goal should not have stood was later supported by the use of missile technology and the fact that it gave Liverpool a 1-0 aggregate victory still rankles with the Chelsea coach.

The two sides meet once more in the Champions League at Anfield tonight with Mourinho believing that goalline technology is a must to prevent such mistakes in future.

Fifa have been experimenting with a micro-chipped adidas ball at the Under-17 World Championships and the manufacturers claim it will resolve any disputes.

"Using simple technology we could put a stop to wrong decisions," said Mourinho. "The use of chip technology in the ball - which works through the transmission of a sound signal - would confirm if the ball crossed the line or not.

"It is so simple to resolve and yet these errors keep happening. It is not a case of blaming referees, it's not about demanding 20/20 vision or supersonic reactions from the referees' assistants.

"But in this multi-million pound business it is imperative that pivotal decisions stand up to scrutiny."

Mourinho has learned to live with the fact that Garcia's goal meant his side stayed at home while Liverpool went on to beat AC Milan in a memorable final.

He added: "Liverpool didn't score in the semi-final against us but I accept they beat us. They played in the final and we stayed at home, so of course I accept it.

"I was upset at that time but not any more. They beat us but they didn't score. I will say that for all my life but it doesn't mean I am sad.

"There are certain highlights in your career that you never forget and I won't forget the goal nobody saw.

"In five matches, we have beaten them three times, they beat us once and we drew once. The game in Anfield where everybody says they beat us was, I think, a zero-zero draw.

"It was a great atmosphere last season but it was the same in the Premiership at Anfield and we beat them. The person who was maybe more influenced by the atmosphere was the linesman, not the players."

Mourinho's dig at Roman Slysko, the assistant referee who indicated Garcia's clipped shot had cleared the line at Anfield, stands by his decision.

He said: "I did not enjoy being the centre of attention. I never spoke to Mourinho or anyone from Chelsea about the goal, but I do not expect to do any of their games in Europe this season.

"I don't think the Uefa referees committee would send us. It could be taken as a provocation and too controversial."

Slysko added that he would have liked goalline technology at Anfield that night, if only to prove to Mourinho that he made the right decision.

"It would have saved a lot of arguments," he said. "But for me the decision I made was and still is correct. I am not sorry about it."

José Mourinho told a press conference at John Lennon Airport this afternoon, Tuesday, that Asier del Horno will play 45 minutes for the reserves tomorrow evening.

The reserves are at home to Norwich while Chelsea are at Liverpool.

José laid out his thinking for Matchday Two of the Champions League. “Our objective is to qualify for the next round. We had a very good example last season, to be first or second doesn’t matter. We were first, thought we could get an easy draw for the first round, and we got Barcelona, for sure one of the best teams in Europe.

“Imagine in this Group if you have to play the first or second of Juventus or Bayern Munich. It doesn’t matter. To come first or second is all that matters.

“Tomorrow is a game where you play to win, you play to get three points, but if you get one it’s not a bad result, and if you lose it is not a drama because you still have three points. The motivation is to get nine points.”

Earlier Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez had held his press conference at Anfield and judged the differences between Chelsea and Liverpool, especially last season.

“Normally it is the squad, when you have on the bench Wright-Phillips, Cole or Crespo or Drogba. Now this year we have a better squad and we can manage the games in a better way.

“They have a very, very good squad, a very good team, and they are at the same level as most clubs in Europe for sure. They can win a lot of games, I hope not the next two, but they can beat anyone.”

Mourinho refused to talk about revenge following the Champions League semi-final defeat and described the difference of the teams.

“Every game was very close, the result was always a minimum difference, but it is 3-1. In five matches we beat them three times they beat us once and we draw once.

“The games are very, very close all the time. They defend well, we defend well. They start with Crouch or they start with Crouch on the bench, it depends the style they use. But we are a team without secrets. We play 4-3-3 all the time. I confirm tomorrow the same, Lampard, Makelele, Essien in midfield.

“I think tomorrow again the game will be a small distance in the result. I think tomorrow no-one wins 3 or 4-0 because (we have) two good teams. Unless something extraordinary happens, like for example Lyon-Real Madrid.”

Benitez had been saying something similar. “They don’t change a lot of things. They change players but their style’s similar. We need to analyse them, but I think it will be similar.

“I think they have a lot of respect for us. Maybe they think they can beat anyone, but that is the same as us.

“It is a new season, new players, a different moment. We have a better team, but they are in a good moment. We have our confidence and our supporters and we know how important it is.

“We work as a team, that is the most important thing, and it is the same for them. The difference is they have more money for good players. If you have a star, this player can change games, but we try and do the same thing.”

Mourinho was full of respect for Benitez. “I like him very much as a colleague, as a person. I’m happy with his success if his success doesn’t interfere with my success. I did UEFA Cup and Champions League in two consecutive years and he did the same.”

He even said Benitez could also be called the Special One. “I think so, he had success in Valencia, he had success in Liverpool with trophies, I think so.”

Mourinho also praised the Liverpool supporters. But he had a dig for one person at Anfield last season. “It was a great atmosphere, I respect a lot Liverpool fans, but to be fair last season in the Premiership the atmosphere was the same and we beat them. And the person who showed more influence in the Champions League was the linesman.”

Neither Mourinho nor Michael Essien, who was the Chelsea player at the press conference, had watched last season’s Champions League Final. José had seen only the end of it. “I was travelling. I listen on the radio, and I watch the last ten minutes of extra-time and penalties.”

Sami Hyypia was the Liverpool player. He insisted it would make no difference whether he was facing Didier Drogba, who played and scored in the Carling Cup Final, or Hernán Crespo, who played and scored in the Champions League Final.

“I think they are quite similar. Of course Crespo scored a few goals against us in the Final, but we just have to make sure that doesn’t happen again if he’s playing. For me it’s quite the same, it’s going to be a hell of a fight. We just have to prepare as well as we can and try not to let them score.”

For José there will not only be a difference to Liverpool depending on whether or not Crouch plays, but he has to consider extreme initiatives against him. “I think I’m going to put a small guy to mark him in the air because a big guy will lose. John Terry cannot beat him. It is better that I put Maka, and John Terry can mark someone else.”

He went on to respond to something else about the Liverpool centre-forward and ex-Chelsea season ticket holder. “I read Peter Crouch say it was England against Chelsea. I think it is the world against Chelsea. Apart from the Fulham Road, and my place which is just 50,000 (Setúbal), it is the world. When Manchester United dominate the Premiership it was not boring, when Arsenal dominate the Premiership it was not boring, and we win just seven matches and it is boring!!!”

It was inevitable that Sunday’s League game also came up. José said: “The difference between the two matches is tomorrow we are both in a good situation. On Sunday we are in a good situation and they are not. So tomorrow if someone lose it is not a drama. If they lose on Sunday, it is finished for them.”

Benitez said: “I will try and use my best team and on Sunday I will try and do the same.” Hyypia thought there would be differences. “It’s not going to be an English referee, that might have an influence, but it doesn’t matter whether it’s English or European style.”

Benitez concluded by saying Chelsea have weaknesses but refused to discuss what they were: “We have an idea, for sure. I will say to you maybe at the end of the season. They have a good manager, maybe if I tell you he will work to find solutions. I prefer they keep them to the end of the season.”

Mourinho concluded by saying: “We want two things for this season, be English champions and now go to the next phase.”

these are the 2 interviews by the chelsea manager... and it looks to me that he wants to take revenge but does not want to say that openly because if the match goes on a draw then he will have to look like an ass again

I'm Chelsea fan, so maybe a bit biased. However I feel that the value is on the low scores, with Chelsea clean sheets.

Plays:

Chelsea 1-0, 2-0, 0-0, 1-1
