You heard it here first!

The only team who would stop them is spain and possible Argentina on clay (whose turn is it to play at home, Spain, Argentina or Switzerland?). Federer will win all matches he will play next year in davis cup, Wawrinka will have a good chanse against anyone specialy playing in Switzerland and in doubles Federer has trained alot with Alegro and won a couple of double tournaments with him the latest year, I bet they could win against even the best doubles specialists if it they had to!

Who else belives in Switzerland as 2006 davis cup champions?

Ofcourse Spain would be the big favorite if they faced each other, I would like that as a final. Imagine: Federer beating the whole spanish armanda with fanatic supporters on clay! Federer beating Ferrero in the 1st match, then the swiss doubles team beating the spanish (which really ís not that good even on clay) and then in the decisive 5th game Federer beating Nadal in a classic 5 set match with fanatic spanish supporters booing every step Federer takes on the pitch. Maybe I am dreaming, but that would be the most exciting tennis moment in my life, dont you agree?

Anyway, Switzerland must be the favorite to win davis cup 2006 if Federer plays all their matches.

I will however not promise to never visit this board if this wont be the case, however I would never make a prediction again in these boards if I once again do a terrible prediction!

Swiss still needs to win the tie against Great Britain ;)

But with a good draw they can win the DC for sure :)

The greatest differense between Switzerland today and 2 years ago is that before they had 2 matches for free and 2 matches they would surely lose and the doubles meant everything facing anyone. Now they have a top 50 player who can play pretty good on both clay and hardcourt. Also Federer and Alegro is alot better doubles team than they were 2 years ago.

Switzerland will beat Australia 4-1 on clau

Later they will beat Spain 3-2 on grass

Only to win Croatia home/away, 2-3 or 5-0 (depending if they face at home or away).

Finaly they will face France away on clay and beat them 2-3.

They'd play this one at home ? Difficult surface choice, we know grass would bother Nadal, but also Wawrinka... plus I don't know a grass court has aleready been done in Switzerland for DC, but why not ? This one will be tricky for sure, and let's not forget they have to beat Australia first...

Dont think about Wawrinka, he can even rest his matches as he has 0 chanse against ferrero or Lopez. Federer would win his 2 matches, no question about it and in the doubles he and Allegro are really good on grass and they won Halle this year while Spain's doubles team is even bad on clay!

It cant end anything else than 3-2, if we dont see a miracle performance from someone in either team.

I don't like a negaive talk but... don't you think your prediction goes too much?

Yes, Roger can beat anyone in the world on any surface(even Nadal on clay if he is on, I believe) so we can say that Swiss team guarantee 2 single wins. But a problem is that Switzerland has no reliable and consistent 2nd single player. Of course Wawrinka has showed a lot of advance this year but he beats the Spaniards or the Argentines on clay(or even on HC)? Hmmm... Then the key match will be a doubles rubber, which is almost like a lottery or russian roullete unless you don't have 2 double specialists in your team. Unfortunately Roger is not a specialist and Allegro himself can't guarantee a win, though they are good together. My point is, if Wawrinka can't win any singles, Roger and Yves must win the match, which however is unsure.

I think it's 50-50. Only if they have Roger AND are lucky, Switzerland has a chance to win DC.

It is not really a rusian roulete. Neither Argentina or Spain have any good doubles team, while Federer and Allegro really are a quite good team together. I dont think Nadal and Lopez would have much chanse against Federer and Allegro even on clay, neither would Argentina. On grass/indoor Allegro and Federer will surely win, infront of the home crowd and everything.

The most difficult game will be France away in the final if it happens, ofcourse it could be the USA (easier) or something else. France has doubles specialists so it would be really difficult for Federer/Allegro to beat them. But I think Wawrinka (dont forget this guy is young and could get in the top 30 or 25 next year as he is still improving) could win a singles match against atleast one frenchman anyway. I still would bet on the swiss.

France and Switz are always rivals in Davis Cup and always produce a good match, but France will probably get knocked out earlier next year, as they have a very tough draw. So next year would be a good opportunity if Roger committed himself.

When is Roger deciding on Davis Cup 06 Participation??

Where in Switzerland will the Australia tie be held??
He said he would decide by the Basel tournament.

The place is still unknown, but it will be probably held in the German speaking part of Switzerland.

If Roger is health , he will,

But if he want to win RG very much, I think he don't :p

He doesnt need to miss out on Davis cup to win RG lol... He will win all 4 grandslams next year and all of his davis cup matches, the only reason he wont play davis cup will be if he gets sick of playing and wants a break
