Apologies... Papakori 09-18-2005, 02:43 PM aww Igor :crying2: But well done Florent! Action Jackson 09-18-2005, 02:44 PM It's good to see a surprise winner and he is a very well spoken guy and I am listening to his interview after his Pavel match and said about the final. "I have to enjoy and give the best of me and tomorrow it will be OK." Well he was right. silverwhite 09-18-2005, 03:00 PM Well done, Florent! :yeah: You have redeemed yourself for thrashing Paulo. AgassiFan 09-18-2005, 03:09 PM Andreev a poor man's Kafelnikov? Action Jackson 09-18-2005, 03:12 PM Andreev a poor man's Kafelnikov? Wrong that's Davydenko. RogiFan88 09-18-2005, 03:19 PM Felicitations, Florent! Nice for him to win his first title. ;) Saw a little of him vs. Hewitt so he's playing well. buddyholly 09-18-2005, 03:21 PM Que Serra Serra! AgassiFan 09-18-2005, 03:36 PM Wrong that's Davydenko. Mine was a question not a statement. Anyway, how does Andreev compare to Kafel, Davidenko and Safin? Bonus question: how the fuck did Voltchkov go so deep in a Wimbledon? Action Jackson 09-18-2005, 03:38 PM Mine was a question not a statement. Anyway, how does Andreev compare to Kafel, Davidenko and Safin. Davydenko is known as the PMK the Poor Mans Kafelnikov and has for a while. Andreev well he has talent, but not much court sense and doesn't use his weapons as effectively as he could. Papakori 09-18-2005, 03:41 PM are there any pictures of Florent and the trophy? BlackSilver 09-18-2005, 03:41 PM Some caring soul watched the final to make an analyse of it now? Action Jackson 09-18-2005, 03:43 PM are there any pictures of Florent and the trophy? Still waiting shouldn't be too far away. AgassiFan 09-18-2005, 03:45 PM Andreev well he has talent, but not much court sense and doesn't use his weapons as effectively as he could. Lol, makes his country proud! GOD..i've not written such a stupid post like this in a long time..or have i? Still, a curious and interesting post, especially the part where everything was flying Action Jackson 09-18-2005, 04:17 PM I love Serra! Yay! You have so many loves it's dangerous. Chloe le Bopper 09-18-2005, 04:18 PM Well, some are to greater degrees than others. Choupi 09-18-2005, 04:20 PM I love Serra! Yay! You need to have them all? After Mathieu and Mahut, now, it's Serra! Come on, leave some for others! ;) delsa 09-18-2005, 04:21 PM At least you didn't beat Paulo for nothing. Well done. ;) Too bad for Andreev. I must admit i'm surprised by the score. Fee 09-18-2005, 04:33 PM Impressive list of wins on the way there. Good for him. Is this a mickey mouse tournament? Action Jackson 09-18-2005, 04:35 PM Impressive list of wins on the way there. Good for him. Is this a mickey mouse tournament? No tournament that Joan Balcells has won is a Mickey Mouse tournament. Chloe le Bopper 09-18-2005, 04:35 PM Impressive list of wins on the way there. Good for him. Is this a mickey mouse tournament? Seeing as he's played like, 6 ATP level tournaments this year, what the Hell does it matter if it is? Go over to the China thread and crack the joke, as it actually applies there. Fee 09-18-2005, 04:37 PM It wasn't a joke. I'm still trying to figure out the rules for which tournaments are mickey mouse and which ones are not. How can the China Open be mickey mouse if there were 2 top ten players there? revolution 09-18-2005, 04:39 PM Good to see a clay court event won by a lesser light. Of course the bigger names were in Beijing but still credit to him. Chloe le Bopper 09-18-2005, 04:40 PM It wasn't a joke. I'm still trying to figure out the rules for which tournaments are mickey mouse and which ones are not. How can the China Open be mickey mouse if there were 2 top ten players there? Well, here is rule number 1: If a player who has played primarily challengers all year wins a tournament, nobody cares if it's Mickey Mouse or not. Especially because they probably had to beat players ranked above them to win it. jole 09-18-2005, 04:47 PM Too bad Igor, but hats off Florent. jole 09-18-2005, 04:48 PM No tournament that Joan Balcells has won is a Mickey Mouse tournament. lol, do not diss Joan "Sideburns" Balcells sire! Raquel 09-18-2005, 04:50 PM It wasn't a joke. I'm still trying to figure out the rules for which tournaments are mickey mouse and which ones are not. How can the China Open be mickey mouse if there were 2 top ten players there? There was 3 top 10 players in China - Nadal, Coria and Nalbandian, so you're right Fee, definitely not a Mickey Mouse event. Well done Serra :) I wanted Pavel to win here though but I'm glad Serra who beat Pavel, won the tournament. They almost got an all Romanian final and I don't think that's happened in a lot of years. And as for the standard of this event, Puerta was the FO finalist and was here as was Verdasco, Volandri, Monfils, Pavel, Hanescu, Acasuso etc. so it was a good field in terms of clay pedigree. Another event Puerta has lost early in though. Since RG he's had a pretty bad record in the clay court events he's played which is a bit of a surprise given how good he played at RG and in the clay events before it. Action Jackson 09-18-2005, 04:50 PM lol, do not diss Joan "Sideburns" Balcells sire! Joan is great and also Acasuso won Bucharest this alone makes it a respectable tournament. Papakori 09-18-2005, 05:40 PM Thanks for the picture GeorgeWhitler! nermo 09-18-2005, 07:53 PM I love Serra! I must admit i'm surprised by the score. posted by Delsa well, Andreev has a real raw talent, i think at the moment, the guy still doesn't know how to distribute his abilities all over the matches, or i mean, when is the right time to choose a right shot. ..may be it'll change with time, willrock 09-18-2005, 08:08 PM Awesome Florent!!! :) What an unexpected win! This is great for French tennis! :bounce: New generation is here after Gasquet (19) and Monfils (18) won their first tounament this year, this is now Florent's turn (even if he's already 24...) vincayou 09-18-2005, 08:16 PM I have never see this Serra play, he's been climbing in the ranking very quietly!
