Each Grand Slam tournament has its stories and charm. Which one was your favorite in 2005? Not just the final, or one particular match, but the whole 2-week extravaganza!
I am torn because, my man Marat triumphed in Australia - beating Federer on the way. But, for its wealth of comeback stories and all around good feelings (and weather), I have to vote for the 2005 U.S. Open.

ALWAYS the Australian Open because I'm there for the whole first week ever year, the atmosphere is just amazing and buzzing, and it's the only tournament I can get to every year.

the australian open was the best, thoose epic 5 setters battles between fed-safin, nalbandian-hewitt and hewitt-nadal were great:yeah:

I don't count Aus Open, since I'm there... but I really appreciate TV coverage, and being able to see my 'grass court specialists' actually play (and win) a match.

From a sheer tennis point of view I would say the Australian Open, but from a personal viewpoint I voted for Roland Garros because I was there for 10 days and it's great to see my favourite "third world dirtballers" doing so well ;)

The French Open is far and away my favorite slam.

The Aus Open is turning into my favourite slam. All my favourite players (Ferrero, Roddick, Safin, Nalbandian) seem to have done well there over the last 3 years.
It's the one slam where both, clay court and grass court, players are happy. So we get to see ALL the best players do well there.

I'm also going to have to say Aus open, although Wimbledon is second on the list - as BBC actually show most of it, which is more than can be said for the other slams :fiery:

AO provided the best match of the year (Safin def. Federer), but the USO was the best slam of the year.
Thank god the women laid a colossal egg this year for it thrust the men into the spotlight for a change, and did they ever deliver. #4 and #2 got knocked out in 1R and 3R, respectively. Guys ranked around or outside the Top 100 (Blake-QF and Ginepri-SF) only several weeks prior, battle through one 5 setter after another. In fact, the two weeks were filled with 5 set matches.
Djorkovic and Gasquet impressed. And the old man made it through to the final to meet Federer. Agassi-Federer in the USO final...when viewed from it's entirety, as opposed to one match, the USO was hard to top.
