hey,
i decided to open this new thread to get to know something more about nicos fans.
id like to start with the question about your age...i know girls dont like to be asked this question but i hope you can forgive me :)
i think its not that difficult to get my age...im 23 but turning 24 this year! i hope im not the oldest one here?!

I don't mind at all that you're asking for my age :) . I always hope more people do, everyone always thinks I'm very young, because I'm not that tall (1.58m :p I have a twin sis, that's the reason ;) ) .
I'm 18 years old and I'm turning 19 on 5 december. It's a national holiday in Holland, in the evening the kids get gifts from Sint Nicolas, now that's a nice coincidence :p . It's like Santa claus, but without the tree :p .

And there are the big chocolate letters, that are given that eve too, aren't they? :p :p I loved it when my mum was in Holland some years ago in the end of November and bought me one! :rocker2:

hey its a great reason you have for your height :D , im actually only 1,61m but i dont have a twin sister to "excuse" that, what a shame, hee! but even though im so small, people mostly think im older than i am...back when i was 15-17, it was nice but its getting worse with every year, i dont wanna look like i was 30 already if im not :help:
anyway...you get presents for sint nicolas (nice name by the way :) ) on dec. 5th? over here its on the 6th, interesting how different the habits are!

I like being small, I can wear all the shoes I want without worrying if I'm too tall :p . And everyone thinks I'm cute and people want to lift me up at concerts and stuff :D . Sometimes I even get the reduction for kids, because they think I'm younger than I am :p . Ofcourse I don't go against it then :p .

Yeah, in every country it's different. It's called present's eve here, I gave a rough translation for the Dutch word 'pakjes avond' where 'pakjes' means presents and 'avond' means eve :p .

I have the same problem, but I always think that if people still think I'm younger when I am really like 30 or something it's only positive :p .

i think ts funny we are all so small but love tall men, hee*! theres a german saying, translated like "small but oho" (i hope you know that oho is supposed to mean, i just dont know wn english word) :D

Kezzi

Yeah, it is funny we all love tall men, especially Nico ;) .

In Holland there's also some sayings with nice things about small people, I just don't know how to translate. I'll look it up someday :) .

Hmmm, some years ago I thought, I'd love to have a husband, who is something in the 1m 80s. And many of the players, who are someway attractive to me are in that span....

So, to help this thread get back to life again. What kind of work/school do you guys go to? Don't know if that's a correct English sentence, but I think you all know what I mean;)

In about three weeks I'm gonna start my translator-study. First I wanted to do it with English as first and French as second language, but then I found out that the Numerus Clausus (the average of your examination marks, which is taken to have a restriction) is very high and I don't have that. So I had to take two languages, which don't have that restriction...and I decided to take Portuguese as first and Italian as second language. Unfortunately Spanish has this high restriction too, otherwise it would have been my first choice ;). Ok, so soon I'm gonna learn one language completely new (Portuguese) and the other one is lifted from the passive state (I can read and understand it when it's spoken) to the active state (Italian). Hopefully I don't get too confused with all my languages   (thinking of the moment when I started to talk Serbian to Mariano Zabaleta) :o :o :o

welcome mrs. nadal...it seems we have quite the same taste in men :D !

to answer your question kezzi...im studying law for 5 years now (yes m not the fastest student at all). now im preparing for my final exams that will be written in february. im actually very nervous about it already and im slightly getting sick of learning  !

what about you kezzi? what are you doing?

Kezzi
10-08-2005, 11:01 PM
I'm studying management, economics and law. I want to become a lawyer, but my highschool level was too low, so I couldn't go straight to university to study law. So now I'm studying this and am in my second year. This takes 4 years and after this I can do university in 2 years instead of 4. And the advantage is that I have a great diploma after this so I don't have to go to college if i decide to be something else :) .
It's nice that I can go in a lot of different directions with this education, I like to keep my options open :p .

hey kezzi, its cool we are both studying law! it seems we have much more in common than being small :) and having the same taste in men :D ! by the way...i just recognized tommy robredo in your signature, did you have it in there all the time? if so, i was really blind  !

Hi everyone,
I think it's time to introduce myself.
I am 25, 1,70 m tall (it seems to me it is a very important info in this board ;) ), and I am working as junior media planner. I know how it feels to study for long-long years, I did it for 6 and a half years to get my diploma.

Hi Verus58! :wavey: Welcome here! I have to study a pretty long time before I am a lawyer, it's like 4 years on this school + 2 years university + 3 years of lawyer education (don't know the name :p ) . And then I finally am what I want to be and I'll be like 27 or something ;) .

oh my god, im really blind sometimes it seems, i should open my eyes  , hee! anyway...i saw tommy 2003 and 2005 in stuttgart. honestly in 2003 i had no idea who he was but i liked this cute guy who was walking around there all the time :D ! this year i totally enjoyed seeing him knowing who he is :p !

I really began to like him when we were watching his training on Tuesday in Rosmalen. My sister and I were there the whole week, sort of a present from my family for graduating highschool :D . On Tuesday two friends were also there and it was really warm that day for Dutch standards, so my sister and I decided to wear a skirt.
While we were sitting on the grass, watching Tommy, he came to the fence to collect the balls. And he picked the ball up and threw it against the fence to pick it up one more time. He looked at us with a big smile and he got a look on his face like this smiley :aplot: .
It was really funny :rolls:

Jule81

aw hes so cute when hes smiling! one day in stuttgart this year, he was really pissed as the practice wasnt the way he wanted, he made a lot mistakes so he wasnt smiling at all, but it was even cute when he was angry at hisself shouting some spanish words that surely didnt mean anything good :D !

Kezzi
10-15-2005, 03:18 PM
Yeah, I think Benneteau is also cute when he's angry :p . And Nico is really cute when he's smiling when his opponents are angry ;) . That was the case in Amersfoort against the two Belgian guys, Nico and Alex were sitting in front of me and obviously had trouble trying not to laugh :p .

I've been learning a lot also these past weeks. I had exams and I'm glad I passes them :) . It's been a bit more quiet at school, because we just started a new period and then there's always two weeks that no one knows what to do :p .

And it's my birthday today :D I'm 19 now and I got 2 chocolate letters, some other presents and money. No one knew what they could buy me, I didn't even know it myself :p . I tried asking for Nico with giftwrapping around him, but that didn't work out

happy birthday, kezzi :D ! i wish you all the best, esp. that next year your wish about nico comes true, hee*! but you have to take some pictures of him wrapped then, hee! okay, enough about this silly stuff :D !
congratulations to your passed exams. how does your study work, i mean how many tests, exams and essays do you have to write in a period? please tell me, id love to hear what its like in other countries!

Kezzi
12-06-2005, 01:50 PM
If I get Nico in giftwrapping I'll sure take a lot of pics for you :p

I have 4 periods in a year and in every period there's another theme with different subjects. The subjects in a period are very different from the other period, in the first period I had three tests, because I had three subjects. In this period I have about 5 subjects, so I have 5 tests. With languages we also have presentations and 'mondeling' tests, I don't know the English word for 'mondeling' :) .
My education at this school will take 4 years (if I don't fail a year) and in the third and fourth year we have to go work with a company for 6 months to get experience. I don't know how to explain it, so I hope you'll understand.
I'm in my second year now and it's a lot easier than the first, because I had two educations at once in the first year. That's because if you want to switch educations, you don't lose a year by starting over, but I don't know if other schools have that, as far as I know it's only on my school.

wow, that sounds difficult and much different from here. i do have lessons in about 4-5 subjects every semester (half a year) and have to write exams in only 1-2 subjects aswell as an essay in those subjects i write exams in. im glad there are not many exams but actully id have prefered writing more exams than an essay everytime as it takes so much time and is not really my thing. but anyway, ive written and passed all neccessary exams and essays so now "only" the final exams are waiting for me.
how much time is left for you?

Hi there..

I was once lucky enough to see Nico on my Birthday (actually it was only just past midnight - but it was still very special). It came when Nico qualified and played in the Hanover World Championships (what is now the Tennis Masters Cup). I had made a very quick trip to Germany and had been lucky enough to see Nico play all 3 of his round robin matches and after the third we swapped caps in front of loads of people and the TV cameras (long story for another time) and later that night a friend and I ended up at the players hotel and had fun watching the players wondering about and just after midnight my friend (who was incredibly shy said "Im going to ask for you to have a pic with the next player who comes along as its your Birthday" and although Thomas Enqvist and Nicolas Kiefer were about, who should be the next player to drive up but Nico - still wearing the Ecuador cap I had given him.... so I had a pic and cuddle with Nico on my birthday.... Not quite been able to achieve it again (cuddle on my birthday) but I have managed to see him on his special day.... (another long story for another time...)...

Let me know if you want to hear either of the "long stories" above...

Belated happy birthday Kezzi.

Oh yes - and Christmas Greetings to anyone here.

Sometimes we also have to do an assignment or a report in the 8 weeks before an exam. Luckily we always work on them with a group of 4-5 people. I can't imagine how hard it would be to do them on my own

After this schoolyear (it finishes somewhere around june-july, don't know exactly) I have to do 2 more years on the same school. But if I want to become a lawyer I have to go to university for 2 more years to study law and after that I have to do 3 years of 'lawyer school'. Again, I don't know the right word for it, but it's more like a 3 year internship. Just working with a lawyer that is kind of a mentor to you.

Hi Baz

I didnt know you frequent these shores....

Thanks for clearing up the Enqvisit thing... That whole 24 hours was a bit special (in fact it was more than a bit special)... Almost like having Nico on command (just not being wrapped up!) - eh Baz! Have you still got your Hanover diary on your website??? [Even if this lot dont want to read it, it would bring back memories for me!]

Anyway - are you looking forward to your first Xmas with Lucas? Do you have any "uninvited" guests?? What day do I have to have the Bday card with you?

s

Oh Kezzi - I doubt you will get your wish for Nico to come to Rotterdam since he will undoubtedly play the South American clay court leg (Vina, BA, Brazil, Acapulco)...

yeah its great when youre able to work with others...when we had to write essays, we all had the same case to solve, so we could work it out together and only had to write it on our own, that made it much easier.
isnt it a shame how long it takes to become a lawyer  ! overhere you have to study at university for about 5-6 years, maybe only 4 1/" if youre really fast, and after that you have to do a 2year-practical part, only after that you become a lawyer, if you manage to pass all the exams...i dont really wanna think about that, its horrible as i hate exams, im always so* nervous! anyway, its interesting to see that its not faster in other countries aswell. although i spoke with an irish girl once, and she told me she has to stay at university 3 years, after that she has a pracitcal period of 3 years, and then shes already finished, if i remember it correctly. but 6 years isnt that fast, too, right.

It takes me 9 years to become a lawyer, if I don't have to take a year again. And unfortunately I have to work really hard, because all the good companies look at your grades before hiring you, so they don't hire people who just got their diploma with grades that were just good enough

Actually I really doubt, that Nico will come to Europe in February, cause Nico is a "heat-kid." I saw him last year in Hamburg, which had 8C and rain. And he just arrived from Guayaquil with 30C and sun. You could literally read on his forehead the sentence: "What please am I doing here??? I think I'm in the wrong place." So he will enjoy the heat and sun there at home in South America.

im glad to hear that youve already seen nico playing! by the way, i know what it feels like being the only supporter for nico, i was in braunschweig this year. it felt kinda strange but in the end i didnt care :) !
how long are you a fan of him by the way? and which other players do you like?

Actually I really doubt, that Nico will come to Europe in February, cause Nico is a "heat-kid." I saw him last year in Hamburg, which had 8C and rain. And he just arrived from Guayaquil with 30C and sun. You could literally read on his forehead the sentence: "What please am I doing here??? I think I'm in the wrong place." So he will enjoy the heat and sun there at home in South America.
What are we Dutch girls going to do without some hot guys when it's really cold here? :p

Welcome here!

I know what you mean, in Amersfoort I was one out of 2 supporters. I believe Winterdream was there also :) . I didn't cheer, but Nico knew I was supporting him. I saw him earlier that day and he & Alex smiled a few times at me during the match :) .

I have a question for Jelena:
With 'Get well soon Bolo!' do you mean Boudewijn Zenden?

I'm new here and Nico is 1 of my favourite players. Do you know his schedule? is he still injured/ill? he is going to be ok, right? he hasnt seemed to play for ages.

I miss NICO :awww:

All I know is that he played Davis Cup at the beginning of April and Monte Carlo afterwards. I have no idea what he's up to now. Anyone does?

Yeah, I just looked him up, he lost in Barcelona to Wawrinka. It was 3 sets, so close. 6-2 6-7 6-3. It seemed that Nico was very unlucky and if he had taken his chances in the 3rd set, could have won.

But still, maybe he's getting back to his best, I hope so.

Who else?? I follow him since the Eurochamps in Holland and Belgium and he suffered a torn crucial ligament in last November...

Sorry I didn't realise you asked me that for sooooooooooo long now :o :o

I wasn't really sure if anyone else has that nickname :p .
I haven't followed soccer in a really long time, so I don't know what he's up to know. But he is one of my 3 fav players :) . I live like an half hour by train from Maastricht :) . And I have 2 authographed cards :D . He sent them to me from Barcelona when he played there, because I sent him a birthday card that year. I was wondering why I got mail from Spain, because it arrived a few months later  .

 That reminds me on 1997. When Princess Diana died, I was in Berlin and wrote a letter to her children, which I laid on the pavement in front of the British embassy. Some months later I got a letter from England....The Buckingham Palace answered me to that letter!

Hi to all the others too :wavey: I have SERIOUS problems with my web connection at home, so now I sit on a borrowed laptop to inform some people abt it. So I'm still alive, only out of connection. I'm gonna tell the story when I have the web connection at home again. (hopefully soon....)

Ok, if I made you curious here is the story:
In English: Experiences with a German internet provider (http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?p=3608388#post3608388)
In German: Die Arcor-Tragdie ----geht auf das Posting #5691 (http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=13224&page=380&pp=15)

The story is too unreal to be true.....

oh my gosh: that's just horrible. geez: I can't believe something like that could even happen. But glad to see you have your internet connection back and glad to hear you have your old phone number back!!

Jelena
06-09-2006, 10:07 PM
We still don't have the old phone number back. The former provider sent us a letter saying "as stipulated" they'd return us our number on April 11th 2008 . That's one reason why we gave that stuff to a lawyer.

Kezzi
06-09-2006, 10:21 PM
That's really crazy, why don't give it back immediately? What do they want to do with your number in those years? :cuckoo:
