Nice draw!!! :) I'd like to see him against Ferrero but I don't think the tournament will be broadcasted here
Anyway, I just read that David is going to play there for sure, and the will go to Bratislava to join the rest of the DC team.

The draw's not bad. Think he'll actually play Nadal (the first name is kinda funky, but hey...)?

novanora
09-10-2005, 12:21 PM
He can beat Ferrero, and I even don't think Ferrero can meet him, will lose to Lee or Tursunov

Moya and Nadal have already arrived, and I think David will arrive tomorrow. Hope I can watch his live match this time!! :bounce:

i dont think he will do a great tournament, he doesnt like small tournaments, and is two weeks before DC, and he knows that will need time to adapt to the bratislava court, so he wants to be there as soon as possible.

He arrived here, but looked a bit tired, and His luggage delayed. David trained with Moya today afternoon, both are joking with Nadal, laughing a lot.

And he said in his interview today he is very confident for the DC.

He played quite down today, a kinda of terrible, especially his 1st serve. Pless play much more aggressive tennis than him. David was a little bit stunned by him at the beginning of the match, and was broken early. Then he adapted Pless's style, and hit better. But his is still not fit for the match, mostly could because he arrived very late, and just started practise yesterday late afternoon. I hope he can adjust himself as soon as possible, otherwise he won't go much further here.

He seems in a good mood...
Do you know if he'll be playing tomorrow again or on thursday?
When the journalist asked him if he is a bad temper player or not, he laughed a lot and said perhaps he is for sometimes.

i just feel he is a bit tired, guess his 2nd round match will be on Thursday, coz Wednesday will arrange the rest of 1st round matches, and some players who finished their 1st round on Monday like Moya, Ferrero.

I just spare one hour to be on the internet when he hasn't any match today!

I couldn't be online yesterday night coz I was watching Tojo's match (love Tojo, he is too nice in this tourney, and play sooooo well ) against Jarkko Nieminen and it's really late when the match finished.

David played much better than 1st round!!!! especially his forehand! But play against JC Ferrero tomorrow, he MUST avoid his errors to the least!! I also watched JC's match against Tursonov, and JC played not bad. Any way, I will CHEER LOUDLY tomorrow night for David!!!!! :woohoo: My Coria fan friends will also cheer for him with me, and there will be two big Argentina flags during the match (actually one is for Coria originallly but whatever, while 5 Spanish flags there, it should have more Argentina cheering flags. )

David looks much happier yesterday!! And he hit 6 winning balls with his autography after winning! I am lucky enough to get one of them!!! :bounce:

VAMOS, DAVEEEED!!!!!!!!!

Interview:

- Please say sth about your forthcoming match against JC Ferrero in next round?
- Ferrero? I watched his match today, and he played very well. But I think I have 50% chance to beat him.

- Please comment on your performance today?
- I feel better and better day by day. I haven't get the breaking chance in 1st set, but everything goes really well after 5-4.

- Does your confidence improve after beating Hewitt on grass?
- That was the match before almost 3 months yet. It's not convenient to comment on it here, but it's always good to beat him.

- How can you adjust your status in a short period of time?
- Everyone has his own way. For me, I will play 100% of myself, and try to treat every shot at my best, that's just my way.

- Please say sth about the Davis Cup which you will play with Coria.
- We are hunting for the Davis Cup very mch. Guillermo and i has been prepared to play our best for it. We will give our best performance there.

Here's a quote I found in a newspaper:

"Cada día me siento mejor. En este partido jugué mejor que en el primero y espero continuar así"
"Each day I feel better. In this match I played better than in the first one and I hope I can go on like this"

"Vi el partido. Ferrero jugó muy bien. Con él va a ser diferente, más parejo, y creo que los dos tenemos las mismas chances de ganar"
2I saw the match. Ferrero played very well. It's gonna be different with him, more even, and I think both of us have the same chances to win"

Making Shanghai is still a long shot in my opinion. He'll probably have to win 1/2 ISG tourneys or a TMS or just get really consistent results like lots of QF/SF.
I want him to get as many ranking points as possible to get a good seeding for the Aussie Open.

Absolutely! the reason why I value China Open a lot is that if he could win the final, then he could gain 35 points( ). He have to gain a lot of points to the Masters.

I am not happy at all!!! :fiery: :fiery: You can't blame coz how can I accept my fav player lost to the one who i dislike the most in front of my eyes in that way???????? :fiery: :fiery: :fiery:

He had really good chance to break JC Ferrero at the beginning of the final set!!! but totally blow away 3 BREAK POINTS!!! And his returning really disappointed me today, coz JC's serving isn't that strong, but David returning is not good as before, doesn't work well. His forehand made many errors. He really COULD win this match!!!! :fiery: :fiery:

Poor David... Perhaps The davis cup is the main point for him now... But if he goes on like this, he won't get to the master cup...

First thing, Crys, don't be so sad. May be he's really whole-heartedly preparedfor Davis cup ;) JUst let us think this way, that's it ....

Second, I have seen you on the TV waving the flag during the 2nd set :p :p :p

Third, I personally think that both the two players played a good level. I missed the 1st set, so I have no idea what happened during the 1st set. In the 2nd set, I think David played very well ,his tricky backhand is really something. 2aces were enough good, and at that time , I even thought he could win the match somehow ;) if he went on play like that. Then the 3rd set, I think David was not that exciting , at least not so much as JC, While JC played with power ,with determination  ---he really wanted to win this match , which I did not see from David somehow.David really felt pressure after he was broke during the crucial game( the fifth game? ), he's some kind of nervous. His DFand UE also helped JC with JC's win. Actually ,I think David really could win the match , but he finally lost the match . :wavey:

Wooo............the 1st time I write so much......... :clap2: :bolt: :woohoo:

Hate to bring it up, but on the ATP site it said that Nalbo only took 1 of 8 Break Point opportunities. He didin't take his chances and JCF did, hence the result.

Is he playing badly or is he injured or something?
No, Nadal isn't injured, played just so so. But Justin Gimelstob played very well. His serving & volley made a lot of trouble to Nadal. I just think if a player want to beat Nadal, he should play more aggresive and attacking, serving & volley is a good way, coz Nadal is too good and determinated at the base line. Justin really have good chance to beat Nadal if his foot is ok (his left ankle seems injured during the match).

I also watched Coria's match against Tojo today!!!! :bounce: that was a GREAT AND UNBELIEVABLE match!!!!! Guillermo saved 4 MPs totally, and won the whole match!! (really sorry for Tojo  ) Both of the two were playing so well. Either one of them was better than JC Ferrero or Nadal. So, the winner of this semi final is deserving the title of China Open!! That's Guillermo!!! :woohoo: I watched both his and Nadal's match, and I believe he can beat Nadal this time!!!! Unforenately, i can't watch the final coz i have to back Shanghai tomorrow night....hope my Coria fan friends can cheer loudly for him. He just left me really good impression this time :p

The interview after loss:

- You were not playing that aggressive as before, why? You have many chance of breaking at the final set, but missed all, is that causing your loss today?
- There are too many things happened in this year. Yes, i have many chances in this match, but unforenately i didn't catch them. And this is an exciting match, both of us were playing well.

- You have many fans here, what do you want to say to them? Will you also play this tourney next year?
- It's still too early to say playing next year, i am not sure yet, but i want to come here again. For my fans, i want to say thanks for your supporting, hope i can see you all here again next year.

- You have entered the final 8 of three Grand Slam this year. What's the goal and plan of next season?
- I still haven't any plan of next year. I always play well in Grand Slam, and now I hope i can also concentrate more on smaller tourneys.

-What will you do after loss?
- I will leave early next morning, so i can't do anything else.

- You played many good shots in this match. Do you think you lost to yourself or Ferrero?
- Ferrero played very well in this match, he broke me early. And I have many chances to break him first in the final set, but the luck wasn't good enough. I partly lost to myself, hope i can play better next time.

YES ,I agree with you ,Crys
Coria really played very well today ~ unbelievable !
I have to say I almost change my mind~
Somehow I still think his serve should stay at today's level ,or he would have a tough match against Nadal.
I suppose both of them have 60% chance to win the final.
