I'm fine, I gotta go to school in like 30 minutes but other than that I'm okay. Although right now I'm missing singing properly so very bad. I want my voice 100% back. I've been better but I am overcompensating for it and attempting to be SUPER cheerful.

I will be excellent if the correct person goes home on American Idol tonight. Three awful performances cannot be excused because people like to laugh at her darn it! :fiery:

Ummm I have class in 2 hours. Boo. My day got an awful start when I went to get my coffee and they said they were out of French Vanilla..... WHAT?! NOT ALLOWED. So I had to get hazelnut... but that's not the same. :( So I will get another coffee before my class. :)

Aw, I have been better too. The only thing that keeps me from crawling into my bed and never coming out except to get more ice cream is the fact that I'm going away in... 47 days now. only 47... 47... 47... That's pretty much the only good thing I have right now because school? It's the most annoying thing ever, I hate it and most of the people there. :o And it takes up most of my time so it's not like I have something else to distract myself with.

We get AI episodes late... but I always watch E! news so I know who's voted off or not. I hate that Ace is out. But I adore Katherine and Paris. They sing SO well.

KELLIE. KELLIE NEEDS TO GO. She is awful. Awful and annoying as hell. They keep saying that America likes her personality but I do not know anyone who likes her. She has now ruined 3 amazing songs in a row. I thought her Bohemian Rhapsody was crap... her Bewitched Bothered and Bewildered... noooo comment can express the crapness of it, and then this week her Unchained Melody reminded me of a school dance that everyone has deserted because it was boring and there is just the chaperones left dancing with eachother and one nerdy couple and she is the one singing.

I looooove Katharine but she's in danger tonight I think :( I also love Elliot. Paris I am kind of meh about. Taylor is in danger tonight too :(

Chris at least knows what kind of singer he is... I mean there's no reason someone should have to be able to sing country and big band and songs from the 50s and whatever else they throw at them. He knows he's a rock singer and to be successful that's all he really needs to be able to sing well. I used to loooove Chris but he's fading for me.. I'm not as gung ho as I used to be.

Exactly. People don't sell millions of albums by doing lots of different kinds of songs. They do what they're good at.

I mean versatility is nice and it does show who are just people with really good voices... but I mean when you put out an album it's rock or its pop or its country or its R&B... not like... everything all at once. That's sort of the annoying thing about American Idol... is that an R&B singer can get kicked out on country week or vice versa. They would never in a million years sing that style... and then get penalized for not being able to do so?

I think American Idol would be better honestly if they just had free range to do whatever they wanted each week. You'd really be able to see what style of CD each person would want to put out by seeing what songs they sang, and song choice and everything would still be important... they just wouldn't get to do their silly little themes each week.

Fantasia. I wondered for a while if I was just like.. not her target audience as a white girl who lives in the middle of suburbia, and like maybe that's why I didn't get that she was supposedly good. So I was talking to my coworkers who listen to more R&B and all that than I do and even THEY were like "Um she is awful... can you burn me the Kelly Clarkson CD?" So erm. Yay for hot prom dates!!

I never went to prom. I didn't go to junior prom because I thought it was stupid, and then I didn't go to senior prom for several reasons:

a) I was in a odd phase of life where I thought I was too cool for prom. I was like "Ew, everyone goes to prom. I don't want to go."
b) No one asked me. (Although I realize now that a few guys *might* have asked me if I wasn't very public about the fact that I wasn't going to prom. )
c) I didn't ask anyone. All my good guy friends were a year younger than me and they all went to their junior prom, plus they were all at a Model Congress convention that weekend (YES OKAY ALL MY GUY FRIENDS WERE NERDS. BUT HOT NERDS.)

Looking back I see clearly that these two guys in my calculus class both very clearly wanted to ask me. Steve and Frank. Frank less obviously ;) But Steve was a guy I'd been friends with since we were like 11, and he was like "Soooo are you going to prom?" Clearly if I had wanted to go with him (which I would have if he had asked...) I should have said, "Yes! But I don't have a date yet." Instead, stupid Jess is like, "No. I'm not going. I don't really want to." What guy would be silly enough to ask a girl to prom who doesn't want to go? *smacks self in head*

Steve's dad was our mayor at the time and he just dropped out of the race for Congress in our district. I would have voted for him. :( Someone needs to defeat our Congressman who received a lot of dirty DeLay money! *sigh*

I may do my rant here :p

Since 9/11, Canadian government only issue 5 years passport. And with most countries won't accept any passport which will expire in 6 months, basically, the passport will have a life of 4 1/2 years.

I have no experience in applying passport other than in Canada and Hong Kong, but it's a BIG hassle in obtaining one from Canada. You need to go to a commercial photographer to take a picture of you, stamped and signed for the date it's taken. Then, you need to find a guarantor who have known you for at least 2 years signed your application form and the picture. AND the guarantor must be a doctors, dentist, chiropractor, lawyer, notary public, etc, not an average Joe you hang out with. The guarantor also needs to sign all the copies of IDs which supports your identification.

And I don't want to add the price for the passport

Oh Lee, I know what you must be going through. Last summer I had to get my passport if I wanted to cross the damn US border. Well I could have showed some ID but I figured I should get my passport while I'm at it. And finding a professional who has known you for 2 years is quite hard. I asked my cousin to do it for me because she is an engineer, but she was on maternity leave then, so I asked her hubbie who is also an engineer and got him to sign it. Then they ask for references, BUT THEY DON'T EVEN BOTHER TO CALL AND CHECK THEM!! I hate that in your pictures, they don't let you smile. So it's pretty much a mug shot. I also had to pay an arm and a leg for it because I needed it within a week.

Lee
04-27-2006, 10:45 PM
Let's say it's even more expensive for Canadians living in US and the professional groups for guarantor is a lot smaller  I have a close friend who's a CMA in Canada so it's no big deal when I was living in Canada. Here in US, I hardly see my doctor and don't have any friends who belong to 'the group'. And CMA is not recognised.

I just caught up with my friend I haven't talked to in a few months and found out her ex-bf is a huge loser :) And that they no longer even speak.

The funny thing is that at one point we had fought over him and today we were both like "OMG that was the stupidest thing we had ever done."

Apparently he was still acting like they were going out even though they weren't and yelling at her and stuff when she went out and stuff and she was like "WTF I've had enough." so then recently she finds out that he is still using her Blockbuster card because she got a phone message that a video was overdue and she was like "Erm I never took that out." So she called Blockbuster and had him removed. The next time he goes and tries to use the card he is going to be asked for ID, and the card will be confiscated.

There are all these bees swarming outside my window and it freaks me out. I hate bees. Bees and storms are my two biggest fears ever. The bee fear goes back to when I was 6 years old and we were just moving into the house we still live in now. We didn't have carpet or furniture or anything in yet. We had quite literally JUST moved in. My mom was painting in our dining room when her elbow knocked against the corner of the ceiling and it just cracked completely open. Apparently bees had been nesting in there. Anyway I had been sitting on a bean bag chair in the living room which is connected to the dining room.. no walls or anything and all these bees swarm into our house. An entire nest of bees swarming around. I bolted into my bedroom and closed the door and my mom called my grandpa to come pick me up. But EEK.

So now since I see them flying around the top of my window, I'm pretty much petrified that they are nesting inside the ceiling of my room and that any second now they are going to bust in here. :( :scared:

Question of the day:

Why do workers at Dunkin Donuts ALWAYS mess up my orders at the ones on campus, but REAL Dunkin Donuts employees have NEVER messed up my orders.

The main problem is that they give me iced coffee when I DO NOT ORDER ICED COFFEE. Today I go up there and am like, "Hi. Can I get a large French Vanilla with cream and sugar?" "Yes of course!" the employee reponds. So she makes my drink and then even ASKS the cashier agin, "French Vanilla..... with cream and sugar, yes?" And the cashier is like "Yes, cream and sugar."

WELL THEN THE GIRL GOES AND MAKES IT ICED! I DO NOT THINK I SAID ICED. They ALWAYS do this to me and give me iced coffee when I want hot but I don't want to waste the coffee and I'm not really the complaining type (in person... I complain about their service to anyone willing to listen AFTER I leave..) so I drink the iced coffee that I don't want.

I don't really LIKE Dunkin Donuts iced coffee. I like Starbucks iced coffee but not Dunkin Donuts. The Dunkin Donuts coffee isn't strong enough to be iced.. it gets mega watery. ANYWAY...

At the OTHER Dunkin Donuts on campus this employee (a specific one) has only made my coffee correctly ONCE ALL YEAR. I go enough so that I know the routine, lol. I say, "Can I have a large Caramel Swirl Latte please with whole milk and sugar." Now I know I have to specify that I want a HOT one... (Isn't it more customary to specify when you want something ICED... last I checked, hot coffee was still the norm.) because if I don't say Caramel Swirl Latte HOT, I get an iced one. Then this lady messes up because she is SUPPOSED to ask if I want whipped cream on top. When asked I say, "Why yes, thanks." THEN she is supposed to drizzle caramel syrup on top whether I say yes or no.. so there should be drizzle on top of either the foam or the whipped cream. Often this lady does neither. SHE MAKES IT INCORRECT. :fiery: Like... do not mess with me Dunkin Donuts employees... I AM ON TO YOU.

That said, I can only complain behind their backs because I am too sweet in person to say anything, plus I don't want them to spit in my drinks, since I DO go there every day

*edit* Wow that got longer than I realized... lol... well it feels good to have released that anger. Real Dunkin Donuts employees who do not work for Syracuse University are wonderful at these services and never mess up, I should say.

I'm good, Tottenham won today which means we're 1 match away from qualifying from the Champions League, which would be huge (we're also relying on Barcelona beating Arsenal, it's a bit confusing I don't expect you to understand :p )

Saw Hostel last night, it was absolutely mad. Absolutely sick in places, but enjoyable. The girls that saw it felt slightly sick afterwards though  it's definitely worth seeing!

Erm, other than that I dunno what else to report. I was sunbathing most of today on the beach and got a bit burnt
