It is a bad sign when you say something is very expensive because I have to practically double any amount into dollars because of the weakness of our currency.

So perhaps boat party is out :p

Hahaahaha yes, i see the problem. Okay, we'll keep it relatively low budget. It'll have to be since we are both not rich (darn!)

If there isn't a double bagel, there needs to be rain. Ideally rain once Novak has started, even though I know that is awful... but if it rains before he starts, they might move him off the stadium court, if it rains once he's started they'll let him continue there. I want my boy to be able to challenge calls! lol We get coverage from 3-5 and then again 7-11 I think. For Roger and Sharapova. If it rains, Novak could take over Sharapova's spot :p

If it doesn't rain, then Roger needs to win super fast so I can even catch a glimpse of Novak.

But I have hope!

I think personally that Djoko (or mostly anyone even) should take that second spot lol. Maria will breeze through early rounds, won't she, anyway?

Oooo i hope Novak gets to contest a call. How exciting! They can not, and will not move him.

He better use up his challenges because you know Coria will :p

ESPN needs to think about who it wants to appeal to. I need to write to them and tell them that for every male who watches tennis to see Sharapova, there are as many females that would watch it for Novak Djokovic ;)

Some day Novak will be in the top 10. Once he realizes that he CAN beat the REALLY top players.. he'll be there. He doesn't think he can yet. I mean, he beat his good buddy Mario at the USO.. but Marios only like top 20... he beat Stepanek and Henman this year... but same. He needs one good win over a top 10 guy like Coria or Roddick before he'll really believe it. I mean he took a set off Ljubicic but they train together and have the same coach so I feel there were advantages there that make it so that one doesn't really count. :p

I should also say that until this picture, I was starting to seriously doubt if Novak was the best looking boy in Serbia :p Certain pictures of Janko and Ilija have been making me wonder.

YAY! Best method of coping with favorite players losing is.... objectify them! Novak loses, he becomes eye candy... when he starts winning is when he earns his tennis player credentials. :p

I can't wait till Djoko gets his first major win. Anyone near the top will do. I'd prefer if it wasn't Andy since he has become the new whipping boy for enough players, he doesn't need his ass handed to him again.

Tipsarevic. Yum. Despite having to type his name out 1597497309 times before i get it even remotely right, he certainly is hot. Novak and Janko are welcome to be joint hottest in my eyes.

As much as i love the eye candy, i would glady give up some drooling time in exachange for some 'cheering him on whilst he kicks some serious butt' time.

I have 300/1500-2000 words done of my paper already and it's going well so I figured I deserved a break. It has to be written journalistically so all I have done so far is my opening and nut graph blah blah blah. I'm just starting to get to the point. But I have all that nonsense done!

I decided to do the topic that talks about violence in video games and the legislation Hilary introduced to make it a crime to sell "mature" rated games to kids under 17... and what sort of protection the game makers have under the first amendment, yada yada :p

All I have to do is look in my notes where we talked about this, find the legislation and the next 1200 words will be a piece of cake :p

So anyway.... hi :wavey:

My roommate and I are definitely nuts.

We just spent the last 30 minutes calculating and recalculating our potential grades if we only get 60% on this paper. We're satisfied that we could still reasonably get Cs if we do. We just want out of here.

But we're not going to get 60s.

We're just a little paranoid because he had wanted us to interview people, but we didn't... and we can't possibly be the only ones... but I am doing a whole lot of other research.... and my paper is going to be VERY good. I can tell already, it just lacks interviews.

My class is restricted to second semester seniors, in a class needed for graduation.... I honestly just don't think he's that evil to flunk someone and make them come back a fifth year just because of this interview issue... I mean... I don't even want to be a journalist. In order to actually FAIL this class, I would have to get a 40% on this paper... and the interview part is just 1/8 of what he is looking for.... so that's not going to happen.

But yeah... I'll pass. That's all that matters. I don't even care anymore.

YES. Okay. I have reasoned enough to myself now... back to work.

:secret: Please don't let your children grow up into slackers like me. :o I used to be such a good student. UGH.

We're not allowed to do "man on the street" interviews (which for my topic I think is ridiculous since I think it would be helpful to talk to parents of children who play violent video games, or even teens who play these games themselves). They have to be like.. politicians or lawyers or something.... some sort of experts.

It's okay though :) I have stopped caring :p

Plus we have to give him a bibliography with contact info for the people we interviewed as well as all our other sources :p

savesthedizzle
03-27-2006, 04:44 AM
I think it's reasonable with the quality of my writing and my ability to construct arguments in writing that even without interviews that I can still get a 75 on the paper. I'm really not worried :p

My roommate is flipping out because her grades in general aren't as good as mine... lol.

I don't know if my comment can be considered an 'interview', but I'm at my parents for Spring Break and I find out that my 9-year old bro has been playing "Need for Speed" a lot recently. It's kind of like Grand Theft Auto where you drive a car and try to elude cops while you steal and stuff. I personally don't mind/care if kids play with 'violent' video games  I see a point to having all these ratings but they should be there just as guides and no one else but the parents themselves should be responsible as to what their children play. Children these days are exposed to much more violence on TV and in movies than in some rather harmless (imo) video game fantasyland. Maybe do something about the under-13 crowd? 13-17 year olds should be able to discern for themselves what is reality and what is fantasy. :)

Maybe this is coming from a biased person so I'll admit right here that I think the FCC, et al are making United Statesians (don't want to say Americans ;):p) prudes!

My key to getting through journalism even though I hated it was to do man on the street interviews ALL the time.

I think since this is more a law class than a journalism class he wants it to be more academic than "for the people" but I think that's ludicrous. He completely BANNED us from man on the street. :crying2:

That is seriously how I survived in a major I hated for 4 years, lol. I realized I hated journalism when I had to call politicians 3453232 times before getting an answer to a question.

Well I think there is a difference between watching TV where someone else is perpetrating the violence and holding a control in a role playing type of game and creating the violence yourself and getting rewarded for it. I mean, clearly most kids know that punching cops is bad... but there's a difference in TV where generally you know the good guy from the bad guys, and being a bad guy yourself. Apparently studies show that after playing these games in some children it does provoke an aggressive reaction.

Anyway, what the bills do, is that it's not illegal for kids to play them, it's just illegal for them to buy them... therefore only people over 17 can buy these games, but if a parent thinks their child is mature enough to handle it, the kid can still play.

I thought of it more as: "ok I'm going to turn this video game console on so I can play a game", with the kid knowing that it's all a game, rather than seeing real life violence on the news, etc...but I agree with your points too.

Ahhhh I see. I think I only like stubble on guys with like.. medium brown hair. I don't like blonde guys in general, so if I saw one I wouldn't be attracted to him anyway... and guys with black hair, I just don't like their stubble either. But a nice medium brown could be tolerable.

But a majority of the time I like them nice and clean shaven. :inlove:

It's probably because his phone is probably operating on another carrier's system and not his usual one. My cell phone doesn't call internationally so I couldn't call unless I did it from a landline which we don't have at school... so I attempted a text (which for some reason DOES work..) but I'm not sure if he got it. :(

Are you feeling better now, Jess?

No.

I won't feel better until after I spit on Roland Garros and their stupid draw. I hate that they extended the deadline, I hate that they have preference for French people, I hate that I put in for the most expensive tickets for every court so that they would have a lot of space to bump me around and give me SOMETHING (because you can request that if they don't have what you want to give you a lesser seat, so I figured if I started with the best, they could just give me worse and worse.. if I started cheap there'd be nowhere to go...)

And I still got nothing.

I hate France.

Hmmm I wonder if I can find my SAT scores easily at home.. I want to know what percentile I got. I know this is odd to wonder about as I am graduating from college, lol... but I want to apply with Kaplan to do one-on-one in home SAT prep tutoring and you need to be in top 95% to qualify for the one-on-one. I might apply to teach SAT prep classes anyway.. but I'm sure the private tutoring pays better :p

I wonder if I call my mom she'll think it's a bizarre question.

So in update to my life....

I freaked out over nothing... I apologize to France and cannot believe the crazy state I was in to say I was sympathetic to Bush for anything :p I LOVE FRANCE! I got tickets! My original order was for 3 tickets for 150 euros because I requested the best seats for each court and the order that was accepted was one for 120 euros... so it seems I got decent seats still.. and I still got all three ;)

AND I got back my Praxis scores yesterday. I don't know if anyone remembers but when I took them (the test in history I need to become a teacher) I thought I did awful because it was unfairly skewed away from my strength and focused oddly American history before the Civil War and not during my favorite period of the New Deal and beyond. Anyway... I PASSED! In each section I scored in the "average" range and usually on the high end of average... and out of all the sections, US History, World History, Geography, Political Science, Behavioral Science and Economics. I scored ABOVE AVERAGE on economics and I have never taken a single economics class in my entire life. :rolls:

I was following Novak's match online :)

Nice solid win over Parmar 6-2, 6-3, 7-5 :p

I was following it on the BBC website and they do the little game by game commentary and they could not possibly praise Novak anymore. I think they might want to adopt him.

I mean this is a perfect example:

Parmar 5-7 Djokovic
Djokovic quickly moves to 30-0 before a sublime forehand winner gives him three match points. The teenager then wraps up a comprehensive straight sets win in style with a rasping ace leaving Parmar well beaten.

That's a lot of praise in just two sentences! The entire commentary was along those lines. :p In the last set they praised him for just winning 4 games.

The interview at UC on Tuesday I felt went well. I seemed to hit it off with the interviewer and it sounds like a challenging and interesting department. They have a lot of good benefits. But I won't know for 2-3 weeks if I got the job.

Wednesday I started my training at Berlitz and it's interesting as I've never really taught before and there are some international people as well as a chick who's got a French boyfriend who lives in Paris.

Thursday I had a second interview at Cintas but with a different interviewer. I was kept waiting almost 15 minutes and I was getting a strange vibe off this woman, especially when she said she was travelling on business and wouldn't be interviewing other candiates for a week or two.

It could be Zimonjic. It looks the most like him out of anyone. Ilija was wearing shorts, not pants, and Janko is too short to pick Nole up like that :p It doesn't look like the short bald coach or Dejan Petrovic the hot coach, so that really only leaves him. Interesting. :p

Well so by process of elimination it must be him, then. Thanks for your expertise. I could onlny eliminate Novak (since he's the liftee) and Janko, so i am useless

Bunny ears? Playboy Novak? I like it. Hugh Hefner would have a coronary. But then we could steal his mansion and live with Serbian Playboy Bunnies.

Anytime. I like to think I am an expert on the differences between Serbian men. I would like to conduct a case study of sorts and go further in depth into their physical differences, but at the moment a lack of funds and participants in the study has it on hold.

This proposed study sounds less scientific and more about pleasure. If i am correct and come into some (well, lots) of money, i will fund said study.

Some would argue that there is a science to pleasure... that is precisely the kind of study I would conduct. Lots of men experiments would be needed. Thank you for your kind contribution to the Center for Objectifying Observing Serbian Men.

Hahahahahahaha

Jess, or should i say Dr.Jess, i can now fully appreciate your interest in the science behind these awfully hot men. May i partake in the experiments involving Janko, please?

You may.

Novak and Ilija, however, are my own special subjects :p

I was imagining that those two would make up your private solo endeavours. No worries. Janko will be enough to uh...experiment on. I think i'll get sufficient...feedback. Thanks. :p

Tee hee. The more I see/watch/follow Ilija, the more I love him dearly :) These experiments are sure to bring us closer in many many ways :p If you feel you are unsure of the results you are getting on Janko and need a second opinion, we can always switch and conduct the experiments again to make sure we get conclusive evidence!

Ah. Brilliant thinking my dear. The law of averages would suggest the more times we experiment, the better results we'll get. May i suggest that we compare the Serbian hotties experiments with ones of other nationalities. I was thinking Janko Vs Youzhny. Head to head, science style.

Interesting thought Dr. Sarah! You compare them to Russians in all the necessary areas and I will compare them to Spaniards!
