I'm back now :p

I just had to make some phonecalls to sort out my South Africa stuff...My flight is gonna be on Monday night, arriving at Cape Town at 9.55am on Tuesday. We're flying from London, so I'll probably head back to London on Friday and spend the weekend there.

Wow. Looks like you're all sorted. My manager is going to Pretoria/Jburg for like 9 or 10 days in the middle of April.

I need some advice here.

Hubby is thinking driving back to Canada this summer. It's a longgggggg drive (about 30 hours driving time at least) He wants to drive because he wants to take our dog with us. I think it will be very stressful for everybody and the dog but I also anticipate I have a BIG fight with this. Any suggestions?

I actually like long drives sometimes. My husband and I have had to drive from West Texas to Chicago (three day trip), San Diego to Chicago (three days if your lucky) as well as from Chicago to Austin (two day trip). We have done both with and without dog. On times when the dog needed to go with us to our destination (as opposed to boarding him), my husband refused to fly our dog because flying can be very, very tramatic for the pooches.

We had fun, stopped in some neat towns to spend the night, made sure that there were hotels that would accept dogs- and also found if there were any dog friendly restaurants to stay in the towns were were staying. Plus- we had doggy valium.

We also brought in plenty of books on CD. I know you have a kiddo- which we don't- but maybe you could purchase some Harry Potter audio books or someother books that could appear to both the kids and the 'rents? The voicework is awesome in the HP books, for example, and are good if both you have never read the books or are familiar with them.

And maybe along the way you can see if there are any goofy road side attractions, such as the world's largest ball of string.

If you do drive, good luck and hope that it doesn't end up like the Griswalds! :)

He's been going places with us but only day trip. We always put him in his crate when he travels. He's too big and will be dangerous if he interrupt the driver.

If I can pack all I need for a 3 weeks vacation for 3 people in one big and one small bags, and buy a ramp for him to walk up the back of the van and directly into his crate, then we may fit everything inside the van.

My dog is actually less a concern for me. My son is the one that can drive both of us crazy.

b) I'm really excited because at 9:45 est this online store opens which is only open for like 2 days a month and they sell a lot of stuff at 90% off and I'm hoping I can find a cute bathing suit and maybe some shirts or jeans :D :D

Aww. I am in the lucky position where I no longer have to cook for myself. I realized I have around $700 left on my student ID card to use at the foodcourts and there is practically no possible way for me to use it all up in the month and a half I have left here, but I'm trying to use as much as possible. Today I went and got a turkey sandwich, cookie, cheddar popcorn, bag of bite size tortilla chips, cashews, a smoothie, 3 iced teas, some nacho cheese dip... and I only used around $17 of it. :crying2: There's just so much! And you can't get back what you don't spend.

When I see people about to pay with cash, I've started paying for them. I hope I can get through all of it.

Well, I thought they were ok. The lead singer actually has a reasonably similar voice to the lead singer in the Arctic Monkeys. They're both quite odd. You need to get their album!!!

I have on mine Arctic Monkeys, The Kooks, Futureheads, Maximo Park, Franz Ferdinand, We Are Scientists, Magic Numbers.. I'm an alternative-rock dude.

Hmmm...you should come down to Austin for SXSW sometime because I think you could find a lot of bands you would like. I saw Arctic Monkeys and We Are Scientists this past extended weekend during the festival. Both put on a good show.

But I have to say, they were not my favorite- at this juncture I think it would have to be Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah. If you can ever catch them over the pond- I would highly recommend it. My butt could not keep still during their set.

The Subways were fun too. I don't like their music as much as Clap Your Hands- but they are a hoot during their stage show. So much energy! They seem like little babies (two of them are not yet of legal drinking age in the states) and are pretty funny. We saw the lead singer after their set and told him good show and the little cutie seemed apprecitate and shook our hands. Awww.

Tapes N' Tapes were great too.

No Expectation Technique and Low Expectation Technique :p

If I have low expectations, Nole will always make me happy and never disappoint :p

Perhaps doing it the Andy way is the best way.. the opponent is higher ranked, he should win. Therefore low expectations. But if playing Todd Reid, the expectation of winning would be high. There's the difference. :)

The techniques are very important. See, Rainer played a good match vs Hewitt in IW, so I adjust my expectation.

Okay I need to just say..

On Jeopardy tonight there was an entire category about Serbia and it made me so excited. I was going NUTS.

They were all easy questions too but the fools on Jeopardy didn't know the answers. I was screaming at them. I knew them all though :)

I guarantee you when I audition for Jeopardy this Tuesday there will be no questions about Serbia. I could never be that lucky.

I don't think they even got the one about the capital right. :o :o

Novak would be so proud of me :D

For some reason it will only let me attach one picture... I have to change the formats of the others.. I need opinions as to which 2/3 I should keep (if they fit)

The skirt was only $15, the 3/4 length dress/tunic was $10 and the other dress/tunic was $28.

I'm generally fairly lucky with skirts.

The lower half of my body cooperates with most clothes (except for length, but for skirts generally not a problem).

It's the upper half that makes me :fiery:

I ordered a bra online today too, but that's not really worthy of discussion :p
