I'm learning alot still about betting on tennis. Just wondering if anyone can give me some advice on a few things bothering me at the moment.

Firstly tanking matches. Are there any rules you guys use to predict if a player is likely to tank?? This I believe is my biggest downfall. I'll watch a player play brilliant tennis in one match then next tournament absolutely shyt.

If they aren't tanking matches are there any other factors I may not have thought of?? and is there anyway to predict this??

Does anyone know where I could get a copy of all the old odds that were available on matches??

I have a copy of on court but is there any other software available that is good??

Any articles websites that give guidance on betting and match analysis??

I'm commited to learning as much as I can. Any advice would be much appreciated :)

Thanks in advance :)

Mate the best thing to do is just to follow tennis for a prolonged period of time. You can't predict when a player will tank a match, but you'll soon learn that you want to stay away from players like Safin, Gaudio, Moya, Calleri etc

Another little tip I'd give you. If you're going to bet by doing parlays (putting several players into a bet and needing them all to win) then try to keep the number down, don't do more than 4 or 5 as one of them is bound to lose.

Also, I generally don't go for players that have odds of less than 1.16. There's no value in them, they don't add much to your winning amount and you'll be incredibly frustrated if they lose, which isn't as rare as you might think.

cheers mate, I did pretty well up until the end of wimbledon. Had about a 35%roi over about 3 months of solid betting. But it all went down hill from there. I suppose I got disillusioned by players who showed all indications of winning an easy match loosing. From there I tried on courts match predictions. Found it not bad except it doesn't take into account rankings in the w-l record. So a player who has a w-l record higher but to less tanlented players would be given a high prob of winning against someone with a lower w-l record to more talented players.

Then (I know stupid mistake) I thought I'd see how the capping services are. Needless to say I found out pretty quickly they aren't too good.

In the last couple of weeks I've been looking at matches myself. I predicted blake to beat Lopez, and got 3 out of 4 right in the first round all above 1.40
should have listened to you about chela... :worship:

So now I'm going to use a few rules that have seemed to work in the past and see how they go.

One rule for me at the mo is no parlays. Might incorporate it later but will stick to singles for now.

Thanks for your help. Incidently what sort of roi should a good handicapper expect to have??
