On the contrary, America produces some of the best beers in the world. You just have to find it. Small breweries usually don't have the marketing budget of big (and crappy) companies like Miller or Coors. Castafiore 08-26-2005, 09:31 AM Ha...beers...entering Belgian territory. De witte van Hoegaerden. The number one in my list! Kriek or Frambozen (Fruit Lambik): fantastic to drink when the sun sets after a warm hot summer's day. It's an acquired taste. Duvel (Devil). In Flanders, in the brewery where they make this beer, you can read a big slogan outside the walls (you can see it from the freeway): "Ssst - Hier rijpt den Duvel" (free translation: Hush, the Devil rests here - "rests" as in "matures"). Jokers often love to replace the "r" with a "p" making it "Hier pijpt den Duvel" (free translation: The Devil gives a blow job here) Douggie Style 08-26-2005, 09:58 AM Guinness!
