Lots of luck to Fernando in New Haven. :hatoff: I have to admit I'm just a little worried about his foot though. Hope his desire to gain points doesn't end up costing him physically. Must trust him and Horacio to make the right decision though I guess! Hopefully its nothing and Fena will do well there.

I think the same Sparko !! Anyway, good luck Fernando. I hope we'll have the draw soon and a good draw !!

I leave on sunday to Northern Norway until next friday for my job, and I won't be able to surf on the net during that period (it'll be difficult for me). So, I hope that everything will be fine for him in New Haven !!! But, I'm sure that with your support, he'll go far !!!!

The draw is bad again. :help: Just see the 1/4 and make me "sick".Gimelstob,Verdasco,Soderling,Tursunov all are big servers,I wish he and Tommy have changed their position with each other. That guy doesn't have an injury now but he ruins chances with an easier draw always. But on the bright side, this draw can let Fena prepare US Open sooner. :o Anyway I don't want Feña to take too many risks this week.Just really hope he can gain many points in US Open. :rocker2:
Come on listen to me and take care your body.

Lost in 3 tight sets 7-6(3) 5-7 6-7(3).He did fight but I think Verdasco is in form today. In fact I don't prefer him to play this tournament, when he only won against Justin in 3 tight sets,I doubt his injury has totally recovered,it's ironic when I care the player that much, most of time he loses. :tears: Watching that SB and knowing this result are very frustrated, :armed: but now prepare the major one, good luck boy. :)

I am so sad because Gonzo lost  but at least he didn't lose because he was playing bad I mean he just lost in the third set tiebreak and it wasn't a bad score as it was with Davydenko last week ...

now he must focus in the USO and make it at least to the quaters (Federer :ras: :fiery: ) we now that Gonzo has been playing good tennis this year but he has been so unlucky with his draws :sobbing:
and we have to support him and see what happens next week ;)

oh, and also now that he lost he will be able to go to a ceremony or something like that in New York where he is the guest of honor with Nico Massu ...
(I'll try to find some more information about that ... )

Yep,he was broke at 0-2 in the 3rd set,he could have lost 4-6,when he broke back at 3-4* I feel he has come back, :) but maybe he lacked some luck in TB.Anyway he has an ability to beat Verdasco next time. :boxing:

I saw part of the match up through the 2nd set, but then had to go over to Nico's match which was about to start.

Fena played very well. It was a close match, but I have to say that Verdasco is a very good player - most people that watch tennis think that with his talent that he should be in the top 20 if not higher. He has an excellent technical game - most of his problems are more his mental game (but isn't that the case with most players except Rafa and Roger??? ;) )

It was a great match with two guys with equal talent battling it out.

Was sad Fena lost, but as far as I'm concerned, it was no shame for him to lose to someone of Verdasco's caliber. I thought Fena played a great game.

Also got some very good pictures of both his matches and in practice - I was too tired last night to put them up but will do that tonight.

I quite agree w you! I just hope that Fena didn't lose because he's hurting -- it's important that he rest a little before the USO!! He [and Juanqui] must be getting tired of meeting Rogi in slams... silly draw.

Fena didn't seem hurt at all - I saw him in Cincy, and you could tell his leg was bothering him, and he looked fierce during matches.

But in New Haven, he was very happy, joking around, smiling all over the place. And he was moving very well, working hard in practice.

Though I wanted to yell at him at one point - Gimelstob, who I can't stand at all - was diving all over the place and really trying to play the crowd, waving his arms to get them to cheer. So after awhile, Fena must have gotten sick of it so he pretends to fall going for the ball and everyone in the crowd started laughing. But all I could think of was geez what if he hurt himself doing that? I was so upset but he's so cute, got over it quickly....lol! ;)
