The entire draw sucks... Gaudio vs Robredo in round one? Thanks guys. That's the Rafa vs Carlos of Cincy  The only person who's draw I like is Rafa's, but his draw doesnt really matter cuz he'll beat anyone anyways

Hopefully Kiwi will have some fire that he had in Wimbledon and pull this one out :yeah: He showed us what he can do... Now he needs to just do it.

( And I believe Los will win too :yeah: )

Maybe there is some better chance this time to beat Federer because Federer doesn't have a real tournament rhythm yet should he play against Kiwi in the 2nd round because he's coming off this long break... we can only guess and dream ;)

Robredo better not blows this time in Cincy. He may never lose a tiebreak at love and giving the match away how he did this week.
True about Rafa :rolls:

I think you're right. Roger hasn't played since Wimbledon so he won't be quite as fresh.... Even if it is a dream, let us dream it ;)

I'm so torn. Luckily the Robredo/Gaudio match won't be on TV so I won't really have to choose  He did good the match I saw him :p  I have to tell you a story about Rafa from Montreal the next time I see you on MSN... That boy is too much.

I'm here in Cinci and have my laptop to post any news. It's not the best draw for Nicolas. But Roger hasn't played much so there could be that chance of an upset. Also, Nicolas was right there at Wimbledon with him. I'll be cheering for him will help :)

Karine, not sure if you are online this week, but thanks for the offer to pick me up at the airport. I rented a car this week. It's weird driving it since I'm used to driving my big SUV and I have a little itty bitty car. I'm sure I'll see you this week.

Hi there,I,m with Karen at the tennis tournament.we just saw Nicolas practiced for more than an hour.Yes the girl was there..a new girlfriend or not,we aare not sure cause she is not acting like one! I talked to him in french,he was making fun of me acuse I almost died in a plane yesterday! lol.He said that he will never be in a flight with me..I<m bad luck! lol.Anyway it was a good practice.he said that there is nothjing to do here and what I did yesterday and will do today,I told him that I didn t know.he was happy, laughing and smiling.Look i don't about the girl if she is the new giorlfriend or not but you know,he didn't look at her and he was flirting with me...ask Karen. We are hopeful to see him tonight.it is like all the crap and mental case that her was in montreal never happenned.I have no shame just ask Karen she will tell you.talk to you soon..here is Karen

Yes, Karine is correct. She has no shame. Nicolas is quite friendly with her. I was basically doing my own thing. I was watching the practice and he was playing a practice set with Beck. I think he won the set. Not sure. He was serving and volleying on most points. I don't know if he was trying to improve his performance over Agassi last thursday when his 1st serve percentage was poor and the drop shot volley last only half a set. Sorry for the techno talk, Karine is the gossip reporter :D He did smile at us and I said good practice. Afterwards he was checking the status of the qualifying to see who he might play next. Other than that, nothing much else to report. He still is doing the John Travolta Saturday Night Fever look with 5 chains around his neck. Obviously, the new "friend" isn't steering him in the right fashion sense. Also, she was watching Moya practice more than Nicolas. So Karine is confused, I'm not sure what the deal is. Maybe she is a paid companion? Just kidding, Nicolas if you are reading this.

Nothing much happened the rest of the day. We saw Safin practicing today. He looked like he just came from Jamica. His hair was long and nasty with this junk facial hair growing on his face.

Were watching the Montreal Final and plan on going out to eat soon-probably the closest resturant Applebee's since we are tired and have a long day tomorrow since he is playing last tomorrow.

Becca, this is French Karen and Texan Karen. We are at tennis. They have internet at the tournament. We will be here onTuesday. We just saw the mental headcase practice this morning. He was actually smiling and signing autographs. He said Bonjour. Strange enough the sun the sun came out. The world has stop turning. He was talking to someone in French and Karine was giving me the correct french prounciation. Horrible on my part because I bring my southern drawl into the mix.

Nicolas's "friend" was absent from practice and Karine saw him last night at the hotel-can't say what happened. But it's not what you think though.

We've seen almost everyone and will be at the match tonight. It's going to be a long day at tennis. Karine is suffering in the humidity. I'm used to it though. The temps are cool.

We saw Rafa today. He arrived this morning at the hotel from Montreal. My friend runs his unofficial soon tro be official website and he was nice to do some PR stuff for her and I took pictures of him signing autographs for the fans on the website.

Karine and I have a great marketing idea. Lots of players have the plastic Lance Armstrong like bands for x,y,z charity. So for Nicolas and all the other headcase players that we like to follow( mainly Nicolas) instead of the plastic wristband, we are going to market a real hospital bracelet that says mental headcase.

We will be at the match tonight. We will report later.

Becca, I'm pretty sure that there are not any hotels available. The city is extremely small and I already someone who is staying with me. My suggestion is to look on the internet and find the closest hotel for Mason, Ohio that might be available. There are some small towns nearby like Westchester.

Hey guys... Hopefully something will come up so that i can stay a couple days. I'm hoping this kid's girlfriend will chill out so i dont have to fork over major cash for a crummy hotel. I should be around early on Tuesday... hopefully we can somehow meet up or something, at least just to chit chat and see the "faces behind the names" :) ha.

Karen, i speak french ... but dont feel bad about the pronounciation... i'm positive that half the time im speaking, im pronouncing wrong... its the effort that counts, right??:)

Well hopefully we can all get in touch ... enjoy your day ahead and YELL LOUD for Kiwi tonight!!

Hola, Karine and I are back from tennis. I'm in the hotel on the laptop. Nicolas played well tonight. He was cool as a cucumber or Kiwi in his case. His serve was better and Nicolas was far better player on the court.

Very cute thing that happened today. His practiced a couple hours before the match and there was this little cute boy that we were talking to. He was about 5 and had a tennis ball for autographs. He said he wanted Nicolas's autograph. We said good luck since he is a grouch especially before a match. But he must have woken up on the right side of the bed. After practice he signed the boy's ball and stood behind him while the kid's parent's was filming it and they were waving to the camera. It looked like they were heading to Disney World. Very cute. Everyone started clapping and cheering.

I'm tired so we'll report more later. Becca, i'm not worried about my lack of French. Trust me, there isn't a large French population in Texas, but I'm having fun learning. I better stick to Spanish as my 2nd language.

Nice, it was hopefully a dominant victory as indicated by the scoreline and good to see that Kiwi didn't lose serve.

Karen, Karine: I will be staying in Columbus tonite, but Mason tomorrow... It was the easiest (and cheapest) way to watch for two days. I was just wondering what time the matches start. It said that the gates open 2 hrs before, but it never said what time the matches start! Columbus is about an hour away from Cinci, so I will probably be there early (as my friend will be at work at 6 am and i am leaving when he leaves for work) Just wondering if you could fill me in on expected time of matches beginning. Thanks!! Hope you're not too wet out there. See you soon.

Ok,Nicolas has a plan and WE already don't like it.he did't practice today.sure it was raining at 10am but he was in the gym.not practicing vs Federer tomorrow is not good.We saw him tonight, very happy, zooming off the parking lot.

Fee,there is lots of stuff going on here..there are players everywhere,we are tired and sure lots of stuff that we are not writing here cause we have no time, plus we need at some point to keep private lives ...private!

We will be at the tournament early tomorrow cause he will be there..lets al pray together!

This is Karen here. One funny thing about yesterday during the match, he almost tripped over his name plate that sits in front of his chair. It would be alwful to read retirement from match due to player tripping!

Becca, we will be there early since he didn't make practice today. He is going to practice very early. I'm sure we will run into you sometime tomorrow on the grounds. It's funny that way that you see people on the grounds when you are looking for them, except for Nicolas today.

Fee
08-17-2005, 09:08 PM
What I saw on TV, Kiefer started out well and Roger looked rusty and agitated. In the second set Roger started to play better, got the break, and Nic started to get bothered by the linespeople, and whatever else. He showed some fire again in the third set and tried to take advantage of Roger's mistakes, but once again, Roger was able to squeeze out a win even when he wasn't playing his best tennis. I was happy to see Nic fight in the third set, but somehow I just knew that he wasn't going to catch Roger.

Neely
08-18-2005, 12:50 AM
A good try, Kiwi! :yeah: But I think he needs to play even more perfectly, especially serving higher percentage and more consistent than today when he wants to beat Roger, even if Roger needed some time to get into the match. A low serve percentage of under 40% in a decisive third set can be just not enough, especially when Federer sees too many 2nd serves on break points when it matters.

I felt before that this might be the best chance of beating Federer since long time, the 2nd break in the third set was just too much and even though he could get one back when Federer was serving for the match a first time, the 2nd one was too much to overcome then and Federer hardly blows serving for the match twice anymore.

Winning again a set against Federer and breaking him as many times in one match as he probably gets broken by all other opponents facing the whole tournament isn't too shabby.

Overall, I rate this loss as "better" and as more "positive" than the one against Agassi (and of course the one against Rusedski, too) and I hope he can profit from this match somehow and that he enters the US Open in hot form, hopefully getting a good quarter and avoiding Federer, Agassi, Roddick et all at least until the QF.

Yes, I have had a great time at the tournament. It has been fun. Nicolas has been off and on around here. We were hoping to to say a personal goodbye and say to good luck for the remainder of the year. But if not, it has been a good week. I'm here emotionally for Karine since she has more of a relationship with Nicolas. I'm to him the crazy girl always next to Karine with the southern accent. Hey maybe hearing my southern accent made him eat Mexican food last night. He had a hankering for Mexican food.

The match was good yesterday. I'm proud of him and he should be pleased. After the match, we ate Italian. Sorry Mexican food in Ohio isn't a good thing. Afterwards, I drank at the bar and I met a nice guy but I just wasn't too interested. He was nice and wanted to see me today but who knows.

Better go, Ancic walked by and started to distract me. Plus Tommy Robredo's hot coach need the computer. Too bad he is too short.

Hi all. I just returned from Cinci. Thought about staying for today, but... i am FRIED and just drove back to Indy. Karine, Karen: I saw you guys... you were right behind his chair during his match with Federer, no? I was on the opposite side. I was there VERY early on Thursday though and was on Center Court before Safin started, thought i saw you guys walking around, but then... you disappeared!! I'm sorry to have missed you, but hey... maybe next year ??? :)

I had a GRRRREAT couple of days of tennis. Although, i did get a headache from squinting during Nicolas' match and had to leave right after to get some sleep, and some aspirin! Later that night i went out and ate at Olive Garden (yes...alone... but i dont really have a problem with that kind of stuff). My Hotel was right down the Street from the Marriot (just past the I-71 bridge).. I actually got a little turned around and ended up in the Marriot parking lot my first night there... thought about stopping, but... didnt know last names to ask for you all--plus didnt want to seem stalker'ish. haha. I'm glad you guys had such a nice week. And I'm sorry for Karine, i understand how hard it must be to say "goodbye" to a friend.

Funny thing happened during the rain delay yesterday. I was standing outside grandstand (Moya v. Ginepri) and these people came up and asked me for my autograph... i have NO IDEA who they thought i was, but i signed their stuff!! hahahahah. It was interesting. Also i went over and watched Feliciano Lopez's doubles match... but even better sat with Robredo's/Ferrer's coaches during their GREAT doubles match (they beat Hanley/Arthurs in 3!!!)... I also saw the two of them running outside the grounds after their match i was leaving and with traffic i was stopped rt by them and they stopped and talked!! (Robredo has a baaaad habit of talking to his coach during his matches and must've seen me chatting) Well all, sorry that this summer is "over" but i definitly have a very good feeling about Nic's chances at the Open. His draws just sucked in almost every tournament and he ALMOST beat Federer.... I think he's def. got a good vibe going into the Open.

Sorry i didnt see you guys (Karine and Karen), but hope you both made it safely home.

Karine- It was such a great time hanging out with you this past week. I'm glad that you saw Nicolas one last time. Maybe I was the bad luck charm? I'll write a proper email later today.

Attached is couple of the pictures. Give me a couple days to edit the pictures and I'll post them. I have over 120 pictures of several players, maybe less after I delete some of them.
