Cincinnati 1998 final - Patrick Rafter served an ace and won the final match 1:6,7:6 (7-2),6:4. Sampras didn`t agree with chair umpire. He thought that it was "out" ;)

When ?? Was it during Davis cup?

This match against Rafter took place in Cincinnati 1998 (final), against Krajicek in Wimbledon 1996 (quarterfinal).

Ohh yeh yeh I knew about those Matches. I really hate the Wimbledon Match more than anything who really cares about a masters title compared to Wimbledon u know? While he was still king there and he would have had 8 consecutive :( I do wonder sometimes, would he have still tried as hard at the USOPEN when he defeated Corretja?? Because I thought that he pushed through to win the Title only because he didnt have a major All year.

I still hate the loss though because people use that against Pete saying that it shows he wasnt the greatest Grass court player, and other garbage like that.

He is the GREATEST GRASS court player, do you know how difficult it is to win even one grand slam, at any slam, much less 7 at one slam. :worship: :worship:

Of Course but he also had to verse people who could play on grass, not just clay courting baseliners. He versed every type of opponent on grass, the best of baseliners, the all courters and of course the very powerful and deadly Serve volleyers such as Krajiceck Stich and of course Goran Ivanesevic, and also Rafter who had great volleying skills.
