I'm a bit confused....
On www.eurosport.fr it says that Igor will probably play singles with Davydenko this weekend but on the Davis Cup official site they say that it all depends on how Davydenko feels...
And about doubles it could be anybody...
Does anyone have any other info?

Well a little birdie told me that Davydenko will or is having a test on his wrist and he told like a press conference or something that the media got hold of that he was deffo be ready for friday! (personally if he has a wrist problem i dont think he shud play!)

These are the match-ups:
R1 - I.ANDREEV (RUS) vs R.GASQUET (FRA)
R2 - N.DAVYDENKO (RUS) vs P.MATHIEU (FRA)
R3 - I.ANDREEV / M.YOUZHNY (RUS) vs A.CLEMENT / M.LLODRA (FRA)
R4 - N.DAVYDENKO (RUS) vs R.GASQUET (FRA)
R5 - I.ANDREEV (RUS) vs P.MATHIEU (FRA)
Seems like Igor is leading the Russian team :worship: I'm kinda surprised though, I thought Misha would play more, seeing how Davydenko is a little injured...
Good luck Russia!!! Hope they will win it! :bounce:

Don't know what's happening right now, but either Mathieu is injured/choking from point one/playing the worst of his life or Igor is doing one hell of a job, leading 6-0 4-1  :worship: The stats on the DC site aren't that clear, Igor's stats seem average, still he's winning big time. I wish I had tv coverage of this match, damn it! Let's hope he can keep it up after the 2 disappointing matches earlier this weekend :bounce: Davai :D
07-17-2005, 02:32 PM
Igor is playing really well!
07-17-2005, 02:33 PM
From the comments on eurosport's website Igor is playing his great forehand and Mathieu commits a lot of mistakes specially on his backhand... They say it seems that Mathieu always loses to the same kind of balls from the begginning, it's like seeing the same thing from the begginning of the game....
Igor has a faster serve than Mathieu
Well lets hope he keeps up like this in the 3rd set because he's at 6-0 6-2 right now and if he continues like this he'll be russia's hero of the day...I don't think anyone expected this,....
07-17-2005, 02:50 PM
I'm watching it and he's on fire! His forehand rules!! :yeah: :woohoo:
07-17-2005, 02:50 PM
As long as he just keeps it up, it's all fine with me! ;)
He was a break up, but Mathieu is serving to level now (but again bp's for Igor  )... Please Igor, as long you (dare I say it :scared: ) don't choke! Whatever you do... DO NOT stop hitting the ball like you were doing the previous set...
Win this one, C'mon! :worship:
07-17-2005, 03:18 PM

Hey guys! (never posted here before ^^)
I watched the match and damn, the dude's impressive. Even though he lost, Mathieu doesn't have to be ashamed 'cause Andreev seems to have a great potential. I've never seen him played before and I was quite surprized by his forehand. He dominated the whole game.
07-17-2005, 05:43 PM
Igor!! you're a hero of this DC tie!!!! congrats, you were on top of your game today, and crushed Paulo! :yeah: I'm glad you fulfilled Tarpishev's hopes and beliefs in you.
GREAt VICTORY! :bigclap:
07-17-2005, 05:46 PM
Igor was awesome today!!!! :yeah: Kafel said he had talked to him in the morning and asked about if he'll be playing and Igor had said he'll be playing for sure as he wanted to redeem himself in front of his home crowd for the 2 losses on the previous days.
And after the match Igor said he managed to handle his nerves better than on the 1st day so he wasn't too nervous today and everything worked just fine. :D
Congrats to all Igor fans here. It must be a major confidence boost for him.
07-17-2005, 09:51 PM
Well done, he's today's hero, even if Davydenko allowed Russia to go on earlier he had to finish the job and he sure did it with determination and style!
I never doubted he could win even though lately he hasn't got good results, he was a better option than Misha on clay...(in my opinion) and he proved he was worth being picked.
Wow he played so well, hopefully he gain loadsa confidence from this excellent win :yeah:
