Kallrose,

Guga is awesome. I have been so busy recently that I have not been posting much. I actually am taking a break from doing some research for one of my classes and I still have not found anything. I will not give up; besides, Guga did not.

I hardly know what is going on these days. I just want Guga to return to previous form.

I recently met someone from Mexico who once hung out with Guga when they were juniors years ago. He said they hit with each other, went to the movies, and hung out for a week. He said Guga in those days used to go dancing till 3 in the morning almost every night. He said Kuerten is awesome, and he likes him a lot. He has not seen him since; besides they only knew each other for a week. Guga may not even remember him. It is just great to know as a fan that Guga's down to earth qualities have not changed at all. Makes me like him more than ever, and I like him so much already.

tommyboy
02-26-2003, 02:00 AM
Of course it is apparent to me that this match is dramatic, and I have no idea where all of you are getting the play by play.

Jorge

anybody noticing the other match... Massu is leading Nalbandian 4-2 ... is this a day of upsets? Lapentti already out... not really an upset...Horna seems to have the woods on Lapentti.. he beat him in straight sets as well in Bs As

kallrose
02-26-2003, 02:02 AM
Tommyboy - go to the following website and click on the picture http://www.uol.com.br/tenisbrasil/

And you're dead on about Guga - that's part of why I like him - his down-to-earth qualities and the goodness that he emotes (that, and the way he plays).

I've been watching whatever tournament he plays in, but when he loses, the tournament loses some of its appeal for me.

Good to see you posting - now, where is Dissident? It's not the same without the two of you posting comments.

Jorge
02-26-2003, 02:10 AM
Guga is the beloved one of the mexican crowd (also Meligeni and Moyà but not as much as Guga)
he had a very beautiful detail when he won the tournament a couple of years ago.
The day before the men's final it was a huge concert on the Azteca Stadium for the peace and pro the indian countries.
The bands were Maná and Jaguares, two of the most famous bands in Latin America.
So Guga saw the concert because he likes specially Maná (actually "Fer" the vocalist of the band met Guga in Buenos Aires last week). But during his speech Guga mentioned the concert and he said that it was one of the most beautiful experiences that he ever saw.
And that he supports totally the goal of that mega-concert. he finished his speech wishing peace, and happines not only for the mexicans but for all the mankind.
Such a great dude, a very sensitive boy and humble. For that reason everybody loves Guga in México and not only in México. The applause to his speech is the longer that i remember and the choirs of GUGA GUGA , incredible.

uuufffff... I,m so relieved and happy! honestly, when it was match point in the second set, I thought everything was over... now I remember 4th round of Roland Garros!!!! this kind of match is really good for the confidence I think... in a few moment, we'll have the article, and will know if it was Guga who was playing bad at first, or Nicolas who was unbelievable!

tommyboy
02-26-2003, 02:19 AM
Kallrose,

The guy I met who hung out with Guga has one minor flaw. He is an Agassi fan. Well anyway, can't be perfect. Seriously, I big time envy him because he still met him. It is bearable! Guga is just an ordinary guy who plays extraordinary tennis, and is still close to the family and friends who contributed to making him the person he is. I can only be happy for those who know him regularly, and happy for him for being so simple.

Jorge
02-26-2003, 02:21 AM
yes it was kinda that match against Michael Russel. I wonder if he drew a heart on the clay this time.

Jorge

Lily
02-26-2003, 02:30 AM
"Guga is a champion with class"-Julien Boutter once said

Billabong, yes, you are right. That match with Michael Russell. Once he saved match point, you knew he was going to win the whole thing. And didnt he save match point vs. Coria at last years Brasil Open?

Congrats Guga! :)

Billabong
02-26-2003, 02:33 AM
yah he saved one match point against Coria.. today he saved 3 match points, and against Russell he saved 1 match point and won the tournament in both times.. maybe he can do it in this tournament too! Go Guga we're with you!

I think the first match is always tougher than the others, that's what Guga said.. hopefully tomorrow against David Ferrer he'll be more relaxed and I hope he can win more easily!

GO GUGAAAAA!!!!!

Jorge
02-26-2003, 02:35 AM

Guga player Coutelot

Yes, Franco is a big waste of talent.

I can't understand how he could lose that match ag. Rios.:fiery: He was like totally dominating him until the end of the 1st set, and I bet that if he(Franco) would have won the 1st game of the 2nd set, he wouldn't have lost the set, and later the match.:fiery:
