The good news for me is that I can't bet agains Andreev today! And I've promised myself to not be tempted by big dogs the rest of the tourney, sooooooo....

I'll be rebounding by going back to the well and laying the premium on Ancic to win a single by beating Monfils. GL all!

Have to say that this is the first time this tournament when I can't see a clear good pick. None of the games give me a good feeling - Lopez has a good record vs Safin on hard courts (plus he knows what makes Marat tick), Bjorkman semed quite solid up to now (I think he had a good chance even if Davydenko didn't retire), Monfils has given me loads of grief and even Kiwi can cause lots of trouble to Fedex. My only safe bet is the Potato, but odds are not worth it.

I have no choice but to glance at WTA...and there I think I will go with Vaidisova and Jankovic, as Myskina and Kuznetsova are long due out.

I'll sleep on the rest tonight and see how I feel tomorrow morning :D

I would not bet on Ancic today. I would be delighted if he wins, but after Udomchoke match he admitted it was poor performance. He thinks reason is playing 5 matches in 7 days at Rosmalen last week and then 2 in 3 days here. If this one outcomes to be 5-setter Monfils will be favourite IMO.

On the other hand, I think "heavy thundery showers" is weathercast, so it may be 1 or 2 short play suspends which will obviously help more experienced Mario.

Exact my thoughts. No value on Fedex, Potato or Roddick. Pass.
Safin "suddenly I love grass" vs dangereous lefty Feliciano. Pass.
Choker PimPim vs Gonzo "the forehand". Pass.
Unpredictable Youzhny vs old man Bjorkman -> pass, although I'll cheer for Bjorki.
Taylor "I don't know how many injuries I had" vs Berdych "on many people's betting black list". Pass.
JCF "the fighter" vs Mayer "its.like.that thinks he's grasscourt player". Pass.

And if Mario survives today match he will be good pick next week vs Safin, Hewitt, Federer(necesseraly in that order).

I had to turn my eye to WTA too.

Kuznetsova to beat Vajdisova
against Sania, Svetlana produced her worst match of a season, don't think she can repeat it

Jankovic to beat Myskina

Mashona to cover -4,5 vs Dementieva
Washington will have many breaks against pathetic Dementieva's serve

Safina to cover -5,5 vs Davenport
Lindsay to win, but Safina is no push over

I admire your dedication to objectivity ... Sadly there will be no fairytale for the Superset kid this year.

However, regarding our 6'5" german friend, who from 4 grasscourt tournaments, has a 7-3 record, with his only losses coming to Federer, Grosjean and Youzhny in a 3rd set tiebreak... I have to say he is more suited to this surface than any other.

On clay this year, Mayer is 3-9, with his only wins coming against Tenconi, Benneteau and Ulihrach. He won a mere 7 games when losing in straight sets to Tommy Haas at Roland Garros, he also lost 1 & 2 to Ancic in Hamburg, and he also lost to Peter Luczak - a guy who can't even make the main draw of slams without a wildcard.

Or perhaps Mayer is a hardcourter? Mayer is 5-7 on hardcourts this year, mainly thanks to a solid outing in Miami. However, at the Aussie Open, Mayer only managed 3 games when being humiliated by the mediocre James Blake.

Miscellaneous:

1. At the French, US and Australian Opens combined, Mayer has a 3-5 record.

2. At Wimbledon, Mayer has a 6-1 record.

I rest my case... :p

deivid was completely right in Your little discussion.

Mayer is claycourt player and he's poor 2005 saison claycourt DOES NOT have relation with his lucky wins in Wimbledon this and last year. Nando is not claycourter and he tries to be equally succesfsull on all surfaces.

Answerig to one of Your offending posts during first set action deivid told You he thinks Mayer will win this match. Later You wrote "where is that Spaniard talking to me Verdasco will win". How pathetic from You.
He merely said Verdasco is guy more practicing for grasscourts.

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. how is making QF at Wimbledon lucky? he has enjoyed 2 straight sets wins here so far, and last year he didn't exactly roll over for Grosjean in the QF either...

2. CAN YOU NOT READ BETWEEN THE LINES? DEIVID was insinuating that Verdasco will win, he laughed at me when I suggested Verdasco will lose.

3. Mayer may well play a lot of claycourt tennis, but nothing takes away from the FACT that his best results have come on GRASS.

4. Show me Verdasco's excellent grasscourt record.

5. If Verdasco v Mayer was played on clay, Verdasco would have creamed him.

you really think ancic is worth it at 1.20??

Just checked back in, answer's pretty easy now
Ancic's come through for me 4 in a row now, can't worry about the premium when he's delivering like this. That said, 1.20 is about my limit, unless Donald "2-6,2-6" Young is involved!
Hope you had a good day of picks, cheers...

LOL MAN I HOPE THIS ONE PULLS OFF FOR YOU!!

:secret: I didn't really bet that parlay  Just bet them as 3 singles, so it was a very profitable 2-0 day. If Kiwi pulls off the improbable, it'll be a bonus as I had stopped betting for awhile, because of 8-5 job and no time to do proper capping. :wavey:
