Fave, marat shot??

I'm going for the 2 handed down the line back hand

I love when he does that jumping movement to catapult his shot on the backhand (Rios does that a lot too): BANG!

I like it when Marat jumps up to hit a backhand from behind the baseline and kicks his right leg out. That's so unique! And I've seen Anna Kournikova do the same thing! I think it's a Moscow thing! ;)

I also like hearing Cliff Drysdale question why Marat does that! :D Insinuating he doesn't need to do that.

This is a tough one. I love all of Marat's shots- serve, forehand, and backhand. His backhand down the line is a thing of beauty! I really think its his signature shot. I also love the jumping backhand, i think it looks cool and i love it when Marat does it!:D

I guess that jumping stuff helps on the body weight transfer. It should add juice to the shot.

Apparently John MacEnroe doesn't think its very cool. He thinks its a dumb shot. Every time Marat does it, he always says, 'look at this, he's kicking his leg up like a horse..' hehehe:D :D

C'mon, guys, John McEnroe once said that Marat "is the real deal".

And my favorite shot is, of course, that fabulous crosscourt backhand.

His two-handed forehands that usually are passing shots and lobs. And his drop shots when they work.

Plus his football shots...does that count:()?

Well i love all his shots, but especially his backhand down the line, the beautyqueen of beautyness.

I think he has a great backhand (2 handed) and his forehand aswell. I really love to see him play, and not only for is looks!!! He gives emotions, I like that.

Ich gucke auch jetzt ungefähr seit 3 Jahren Tennis, seit ich Marat das erste Mal hab spielen sehen. Ich spiele selber auch Tennis, aber nicht so oft. Ich spiele aber total oft Badminton und Volleyball :D

My thoughts exactly, Kiara, now I've just finished wading through the RodDICK-crap and "marat's with me!-no with me!" stuff... but you're all forgiven cause there were some very very very nice pics in there too.
I guess my favourite shots are the ones that are fantastic but in the same time make me yell "no don't do that!!" diving, jumping, drop shots at certain times...
But that backhand is gorgeous!
And those forehands, especially when he accelerates...
Off course can't forget the accuracy, power and variety of his serve wow!

back to the topic. Well Marat can play every shot... its hard to choose. For me backhand down the line because it looks beautiful, smooth and effortless and you cant see when he hits it. surprise moment.

I loved that outragous diving, backhand lob volley, that he used against Blake at the Australian Open. I believe his raquet left his hand as well!! :eek: Amazing shot! Also his serve has beautiful motion, so effortless.

Well, there are more things than the serve he can make look effortless! (but maybe not as much as your man, god that man makes me think I can play tennis)

Yea, any time i see those 2 (Fed and Safin) play, it makes me want to go and play like they do. I actually do play a simialar style of tennis (all court, single-handed BH), but i must also realize that these 2 possess amazing talents, that are only ocassionaly witnessed in sports. Every one of Safin's strokes have some sort of elegance to them, not just the serve. I really like Safin's volleys, i think there a bit underrated. He definatly has the game, to go far and even win Wimbledon. Remember the fed lost in the 1st rd. 3 times before he finally won it!! :eek:

yeah and Marat's been working on his S/V game, he's coming in behind the serve a whole lot more than he ever used to.... and his volleys have improved remarkably especially the forhand volley.

yeah its good to see him improving. with S/V he has more easy points.

I have to say his volley... that is wat i like that kind of shot out of all....... Maybe his serve too.

To choose one I would agree with Andrea and say BH down the line but sure all his motions are beautiful, I LOVE his service motion, too. God that looks so effortless!

I think Marat has a very nice textbook form as well on the BH. I prefer single handed backhands, but his is the most effortless double-hander out there. Pfft, every one of Roddicks strokes are horrible to watch ;)
