Well when I was young I always complained about them, I did prefer to go to school :p (ok this is quite long ago, I was still a lil Yvo by then) but still, I don't like holidays of 2 months, I get bored, I like a holiday of 2 weeks or something, but then I don't mind to go back.

I never mind to go back either - because we always had a great class wo we had much fun together - esp. in the last year now!! I already miss them all very much!! it was a wonderful year with so many great personalities!!:worship:

I kinda miss highschool, not really coz of my class, but more of the lil group of friends I had. We were always together with 8/9 girls and we had so much fun. But sadly I did kinda stop talking to almost all of them. Except for 2 who I still speak regularly.
I did just send an e-mail to one of my friends this afternoon mentioning the schoolcamp we had when we were 16. We had the most lovely time! But it will never be the same again, coz if I see most of that group again I ignore them and feel uncomfortable

just called my dad he won't come till 9.15 pm so it'll take a while before I really am home :p but well at least he comes here, coz I wouldn't be able to take everything home by bus :p

usually I don't mind if I speak English or Dutch, but I don't like it to start a phonecall in English. This time I called to a Dutch phonenumber but the man who did answer the phone asked me if I could speak English, so that was easy, just changing from language, I didn't have to start in English.

I try to give it as soon as possible :)

 I remember Linda (a friend of mine, she used to post on this board under the nick zamboni) did say to me "don't pay me yet I don't need the money now" when she bought me the ticket for EC speedskating last januari. But then a few months later I still didn't pay her (also coz I didn't have the number to put the money on) so her mum was mad at me that I didn't pay yet and my mum was mad at me that I didn't pay yet. But I was not allowed from Linda :p she didn't give me her number (ok after a few months I could finally send her the money!)

wasn't Armstrong the winner for several times now
yes that is true :) but still I would've said he deserved it last year as well, coz he did something nobody did before (winning the tour 6 times in a row) so he deserved it last year more than the other years I would say. But of course I wanted Roger to win and he deserved it a lot as well. But next year... Armstrong would really deserve it if he wins his 7th.

A few month...I don't think I could have stand it, cause I hate it if I have a dept or owe something! That's why I usually don't try to borrow money, or at least give it back as soon as possible. On the other hand, I'm the same as Linda, when I lend money, always saying "you don't have to hurry" or "I don't need it right now"...so I'm kind of a hypocrite ;)

I'm sure he'll win the award, if he wins for a 7th time in a row, wich I have no doubt he will. - Don't think this record will be broken, not in my lifetime I think. (but I still think Eddy Merckx was a way better cycler than Armstrong ;) )

with linda it was kinda funny, she said to one of us she had to give it at once, the other one had to give it in december and I had to wait :p (I think we did buy the tickets in oktober-november).
But then I wanted to give it to her, but she never gave me the number, so that was kinda annoying coz I really wanted to pay.

Well you never know when a record gets broken... but 7 really is a lot and it will take many years before someone will break it.

Same as with tennis, I don't think you can't compare the different sportmen during the years. You know, it was all a different time, different techniques, different teams, different opponents and of course different goals. They were both great cyclers, but I can't say who is the best

Well, it's true that times have changed - but it's kinda sad (at least for me) that you can't win more than 1 tour in a year nowadays. You either have to choose between "tour de france", "Giro d'italia", "Vuelta Espania" and WM or you will most likely fail to win anyone of them. I admire Merckx for been able to win all of them (sometimes 2 or 3 in one year), which will be hard if not impossible to achieve ever again.
I know Merckx would do the same now, focus on one tour - cause times have changed and the compition is more demanding.
For me Armstrong for Cycling is like Sampras was for Tennis, nearly impossible to beat on certain GMs (esp. "Wimbledon" - like "Tour de france"). While I would Merckx campare with Rod Laver, who IMHO was a more complete player than Sampras, as Merckx was a more complete cycler than Armstrong.
Don't get me wrong, I really think Armstrong is indisputable the best cycler of the modern era, but for me Merckx was just a bit better, on and off his bike.
But that's just my opinion, so no offense ;)

well I kinda understand what you mean and I think you are right. The way you compare them with tennis players is good. Have to say I don't know a lot about Merckx, of course I know he was very good cycler, but I dunno what kind of cycler he was.
I only follow cycling since... mmm good question since when do I follow it, already before armstrong, coz I remember Pantani's tour quite well. But of course since I don't follow it that long yet Armstrong is for me the best.

what I think is sad that we can't follow those other tours as well as the tour de france. it is on tv, but really less attention than with the tour de france. So I don't follow them as good, but they are as interesting as the tour de france

I understand you aswell, I followed cycling till Indurain I think, well it's the one I remember watching seriously for the first time. :)
Yeah you're right about the other tours, they all are kind of 2nd class for the media  - Wimbledon is like "tour de france" the oldest and most respected event, but not a quarter as hyped in tennis as the "Tour de France" is in cycling - but it was always this way and probably will so in the future, unfortunately you can't do much about it

Yep again well compared (see tennis and cycling is quite the same :p) wimbledon also gets more attention here, though the difference isn't that big luckily. (would hate it if I could follow less of the other GSs!)

I dunno, I remember I was cheering for Pantani already when he did win, so I must have been a fan before. But I can't say when exactly.

sounds logical no???

that sounds logical, but does it sound like me?

Well my biggest problems with people irl is that I got my bad moods regularly and a lot of people can't understand those. So my only friends left are those who accept that I am a bit moody once in a while but they know that I would do everything to stay friends with them and that I don't want to lose them.

But it is nice you think about me like that  though I am sure you forget some of my 'bad' sides in that description :p

why?

Guinness has a really strong taste and a strange taste, I know quite some people who like beer who dislike Guinness.

We were in Dublin with school last year and we did visit the Guinness-factory on the first morning. And we could get a free drink, but it was only like 10am. So lots of people didn't take a beer coz it was too early, but me and some other students couldn't leave it. So we did get a pint of Guinness and I enjoyed it so much :lick: (I remember quite some guys were surprised that the two girls were the fastest to finish the glass  )

Indeed!

Aww now I want this Stan Flag in my sig :p But won't use it or 2 reasons: yvo would be angry if I copy her and I don't wnat to have to delete some parts of my sig
You could do that when Yvo doesn't have hers anymore. She changes her sig quite often, I think...

Bonsoir, Nathy!! Ah, it is written as a single word!! Good to know.

Thanks to you, Nathy for Stan flag!! It looks good!! It could be better to write with big letters and for the 4th and 5th line from the top, STANISLAS WAWRINKA these bolded letters should be in white... (maybe...)

Yup in one word :)

But they are in white? You meant in red I suppose... Let's see how it looks in big letters and with the bolded letters in red and without space...

STANISLASWAWRINKA
STANISLASWAWRINKA
STANISLASWAWRINKA
STANISLASWAWRINKA
STANISLASWAWRINKA
STANISLASWAWRINKA
STANISLASWAWRINKA
