The U.S. Open menís champion will navigate the New York City traffic in a Lexus this year. Lexus has signed on as the presenting sponsor of the U.S. Open Menís singles championship and as the official vehicle of the U.S. Open.

The USTA will formally announced the new partnership on Monday.

Lexus, the USTAís sixth Corporate Champion, will award an all-new 2006 Lexus GS 430 luxury performance sedan to the menís singles winner at the U.S. Open ó the first time such a prize will be awarded to a menís winner. The new championship vehicle will be on display with other Lexus vehicles during the tournament on the grounds of the USTA National Tennis Center.

"We're excited to partner with of one of the nationís premiere sporting events," said Keith Dahl, Lexus national event marketing manager. "We share a commitment to excellence and an audience that is passionate, confident and sophisticated. Weíre looking forward to bringing Lexus' signature touch to this great event."

Other on-site Lexus visibility will include net post signage for all menís single matches in Arthur Ashe Stadium, Louis Armstrong Stadium and the Grandstand. Lexus also will provide a fleet of more than 100 luxury vehicles that will serve as the official transportation for players during the U.S. Open.

"The Lexus brand is all about style, quality and performance ó all of which are synonymous with the U.S. Open," said Pierce O'Neil, chief business officer, USTA. "The U.S. Open provides Lexus with the opportunity to connect with over 630,000 fans who attend the Open each year, as well as a global television audience."

Lexus succeeds Lincoln as the official vehicle of the U.S. Open. The 2005 US Open will be held Monday, August 29th through Sunday, September 11th. Arthur Ashe Kidsí Day presented by Hess, a full-day tennis and music festival for children and families, will take place Saturday, August 27th.
