Just to let you know, Verkerk won that final set tie-break 7-1, and it wasn't Ljubicic's injury that hindered him. At 4-1 down, with two points on his serve, he dumped one low forehand into the net and then sent a backhand into the tramlines, almost as if he was deliberately throwing away the match.

Still though, good for Martin - I now hope he can face the Niemster in the final! :D

I figured Zhenya wouldn't let the youngster get him twice in a row ;)

This spells good things for both players. Zhenya is practically the winner already (if he loses to Verkerk, like I said, I'll never forgive him) and hopefully working his way back to the upswing before he retires.

Jarkko has steadily improved from last year, and is brimming with confidence after his Aussie Open run :) To follow that up with a semifinal is wonderful :) Hopefully he will finally win a title this year -- the clay season is coming up!
