only the first set was a big problem for Haas because his backhand sucked and Novak played much better

after a while he broke and broke and broke in the 2nd part of the first set and during the second set.... the 2nd set was very easy and Novak looked like a grandpa in his movement compared to Tommy

overall considerably well done for a first match on grass and after Mayer revenged his loss to Youzhny from last year, this was now Tommy's revenge to Novak after losing to him in 2004 in Halle

German star Tommy Haas on late Wednesday evening pleased 9,000 fans by rallying past Austrian Juergen Melzer 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.
One break down (4-3) in the final set, the seventh seed regrouped to win the last three games in front of an euphoric crowd. "I was proud to get back into the match," Haas smiled. "My errors, especially my double-faults, helped him back into the match and turning this one around was very tough." Haas stormed to a 4-0 lead and took the first set, 6-2. Melzer then gained a break in the fourth game of the second set to level the scoreline. "I felt I was the better player throughout but he played good tennis, too," said Haas, who next clashes with either Juan Carlos Ferrero or Alexander Waske. "I would love to play Alex because he is a good friend of mine. I was very happy to see him beating Nadal and facing him would be great fun."

Well done Tommy! He's playing so well, I think he can beat Federer tomorrow.

PD: Vero, mañana a las 8:30 en TYC van a dar las dos semis de Halle (Haas-Federer, Cañas-Safin) No se cual dan primero, pero lo vamos a poder ver a Tommy! Ojala que gane. :)

He didn't sound too disappointed, of course he was a bit sad that he missed the chance to take the match into a third set, but from watching his interview right after the match I think he also is able to see the positive things of this week: that he played good tennis on grass and that he gave Federer a good match.

hey I'm proud of Tommy, playing the best grasscourter in the world and really coming up close to taking him to 3 sets. Just some luck was needed, but I guess he had his fair share.

I'm also happy he proved himself to be a good loser. He seems a nice guy, unlike Kiwi who justs storms off when he loses...

well, I'm getting optimistic about Hertogenbosch and Wimbledon!!

Tommy has pulled out of s'Hertogenbosch. Not sure why, but I would bet that he just decided to take a week off before Wimbledon and get a little bit of rest.
