Hrbaty says: "This is my best match of the year so far. He was the only one to take a set off Agassi in Australia and I knew it was going to be a tough match. I had to play my best tennis to win. I'm glad I was able to do that."

Good stuff Domino

Jiri Novak & Sjeng Schalken both top 2 seeds fell in 1st round, what a big suprise. Both of them are good in carpet surface, what happened???:( :( :(   :fiery:

Anyway, better luck next time :wavey: ;)

Tell me about it... I guess they still haven't recovered from their adventures in Australia, even though neither of them stuck around in the draw for very long.

Still, I now transfer my support to Richard - and now that's he playing The Big-Lipped One in the second round instead of Novak, I give him a fighting chance. Go Richard!

Verkerk won 6-4 in 3rd

I'm sure the organisers are more happy to see Enqvist in rd 2 than Schalken

Thomas is a 100 times better and bigger name than Sjeng ever will be.

Plus they still got Krajicek, Kafelnikov in field still

so losing Novak and Schalken  is no big deal

Pah! Pig-faced Thomas? - I doubt it.

Enqvist is a complete has-been, he doesn't even have the winning record over Agassi that he used to. Schalken may not achieve much but he is a far more likeable player, and he doesn't have that stupid bandanna that Enqvist seems to favour these days.

Long live the Sjengster!
