Seb's got a lot of points to defend for the grasscourt season so i hope it will motivate him and not put pressure on him...
He's got quite a hard draw: being seeded as number 7 he will be exempt from the 1rst round and then face fellow Frenchman Jean-René Lisnard or Guillermo Garcia Lopez and he may face Roddick in the 1/4 so it'll be hard for him. But he loves grass and he can pull this off!
ALLEZ SEB! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :rocker2:

And he'll play the double with his best friend Arnaud Clément! :)

Easy draw until 1/4...ohhh and he'll play Losnard, who beat him in Melbourne and who had said nasty things about him
Charming duo with Arnaud, ahhh I'd love to see them in double one day ! :hearts:

Well, I dislike grass tournaments, boring surface, but it's important for Seb, allez !!!

There's no such thing as an "easy" draw. I hope that you didn't just curse Seb  .

I only know about the BYE and won't look beyond the 2nd round

I'm glad that he and NoNo are playing Doubles together. It's been too long since they teamed up :bounce: :bounce:

I'm also not crazy about Grass for the next 5 weeks but pros that I like play on it and I love the game too much to avoid it for that long :p

We can only dream, Marine! :)

It's been a while since they have being in a tournament together for a long long long time (either arnaud's ranking has been too shameful to enter successfully or seb being injured etc etc) so i hope they do well!!!!!!!

I cant believe its grass season ALREADY!!!

Hi, I'm a big Seb fan.. although I haven't posted here until now.. Anyway, I was at the doubles match yesterday and there was an incident when Arnaud smashed from the baseline and hit the ball into the back of Seb's neck- it must have hurt so bad.. he had to have ice on it during the next few breaks..

delsa
06-09-2005, 03:04 PM
That's why he had those red marks on his neck during his match against Garcia-Lopez?!

He must do paintball or something or play golf in Hotel's corridor with Arnaud like during the Davis Cup...(remember that Arnaud got hit by his own shot playing golf and got wounded!... ). Now it's official: Arnaud (despite being his best friend...) is a threat to Seb's life because of his clumsiness! :rolls: :haha: So much blunders from Arnaud! It must be fun to be around him!

Hello everyone :) :wavey:

I'm a Roddick fan and wanted to get your thoughts on tomorrow. I was very impressed with Sebastien at the FO, particularly the Nadal match. The way he was hitting the ball off both flanks (but escpecially the forehand) was scary!

What do you think Seb has to do to beat Andy? Both players weren't at their best today but got the wins that count. Andy is a different animal to the forlorn figure we saw on clay a few weeks ago and he seems to have found the rhythm of his serve again. If he can maintain that, I think Seb will struggle to break. At the same time, Roddick is very susceptible to any short ball, particularly dropshots and Karol Beck got a lot of cheap points that way today.

Was wondering what you thought? I'm looking forward to some excellent tennis between these two tomorrow. May the best man win! (although of course I hope the best man's initials will be A.R. :p ;) )

I will be getting coverage of this match tomorrow so I'm definitely looking forward to it. I hope that Seb can beat Roddick this time. 3rd straight year that they have played in this tourney...only the other two were Finals, I believe. I know that 2004 was but can't remember for sure about '03.

:D Allanah, such a difficult question! Well Roddie may be the one to win but as a Seb fan I will give all my support to Seb and wait for the miracle to come! Just like how he defeated Agassi before! Well Let's see what gonna happen!!!

Oh no... can't find any pics of Sebbie  ... and really happy to see Seb going well in the Stella Artois... he is blessed

Hey Allanah !
As Kelly I think A rod is more likely to win but I hope seb will be able to play his better tennis and maybe with a bit of luck, beat Roddick !
He lost the final in 2003 6/1 6/2 and in 2004 6/3 6/4 so there's some progress !!!
I think that to win seb should do particularly well in return in order to break roddick at least once, and then be extremely solid on his service, but on grass he's good at it !!! Well, that's no use saying it, now seb has to do it concretely !!! And that's another story !!!!
Well, we're waiting for some miracle !! But seb can do it ;-)
waiting forward to the match, too ! it's beginning at 1:00 pm i think

Hello again! :wavey: :) I don't know about you, but I felt that both players were pretty inconsistent today. Stunning passing shots followed by inexplicable unforced errors. Grosjean certainly worried Andy (and me!) and who knows what would've happened if he'd managed to take the first set to a TB...

good luck to Seb at Wimbledon :) :yeah:

I haven't seen the match yet but I hope that it will be shown on repeat later. Knowing that Roddick won doesn't exactly make me want to watch it but I might watch some.

In short...he's very upset cos he thinks he had more occasions than his adversaryand finally it's him who lost.
This year he rent an house for one month, his wife and kids arrive tomorrow he's happy to stay with them, the other years he used to play another tournament, thos year he stays in London and can practice on court in Wimby.

So that means he's not coming to the Ordina open here in the Netherlandsnext week .. :crying2:.

But grass is not boring Marine  :)!! Grass is so special.. A lot of players you dont hear from all year, but are great players, u see back on grass.. Like Ancic!! And Seb plays great on grass.. When Seb plays on all the other kind of courts, it looks so much different, then from how he plays on grass. When I saw that match against Roddick friday I was so impressed.. it was a year since I've seen him play like that, that good!!
Anyway I understand though why you like clay more then grass (porbably most of you who prefer clay over grass), but for me its the other way around, I dont really like clay, because its with long rallies.. And on grass its sebs strong point when he can get a ball when you never expect it (when other players would never get the ball, he would get it)..

And on grass its sebs strong point when he can get a ball when you never expect it (when other players would never get the ball, he would get it)..

:D and yah, partically for his stunning forehand, right? so that's the reason I always keep high spirits all through the grass season even though I don't really like grass very much.

well I can't find the video link of the atp play of the week, which has impressed me so deeply, when he was playing the 2003 stella artois...but that's gorgeous! I don't know if u still remember that... he was in red shirt, I think... Anyway, I have nice memories of seb's grass seasons. this year's stella artois is another new, great start!
