about Seb...

yesterday during Seb's match, italian commentator said 2 weird things about Seb:
- he's allergic to lots of foods, specially vegetables and pulses and when he goes out for dinner he asks to waiters of restaurants to know all ingredients of all foods he chooses...they said it's annoying for ppl who go out with him,cos he cant eat normally and he doesnt enjoy the good food etc.
- he's such a victim of his wife! they said that seb's wife is kinda a boss who decides everything about seb's life and he isnt free to take his decisions by himself cos she is a dictator!

just gossips or there is something true?

I've never heard of that... They often publish diaries written by someone of the team in Tennis Magazine and they never mentioned that anyone was allergic to something (well if they did I can't remember).
As for his wife being bossy, that's news to me too ;). She appears quite reserved. The only thing is know is that she likes psychology and litterature at the moment but well...

aww thats actually quite sad if he's allergic to all that stuf! I dunno if its true--this was in an interview thing once:

~~Do you have a special diet?
I don't like eggs, peanuts or vegetables ~~

So yeah...i dunno if he's actually allergic to vegetables or he just doesn't like them and pretends to be allergic to them?! lol i dunno but how can you be allergic to ALL VEGETABLES?!!! Everyone needs to eat vegetables...especially athletes who need to have a really good diet and all that. i reckon thats actually quite funny...

I really hope that that thing about his wife isn't true...I'd be really sad for him because that means that she'd probably bully him a lot and if so how could he be happy especially when he retires and has to live with her!! ...lol but i dunno i think its weird. She's 8 years older than him and isn't gorgeous or nething and if she's so mean why if he still with her? Thing is, he always seems so happy when he talks about his family and always says how supportive his wife has been throughout his career and seems like he really respects her and everything. i dont know nethign about her...does she work?

julien- thats so cool about the diaries thing!! i wish i could read it!!!

I had heard Seb is difficult to "feed" and doesn't eat much vegetables but didn't know it had anything to do with allergies.

As for his wife I doubt she bullies him or she would not let him travel on his own so often, she would be behind him all the time like an abusive tennis parent. :D

It's a bit unusual for a guy to get married so young nowadays so in that respect, I would suspect she is somewhat influential on him. It reminds me a little bit of Sampras lovestory with Delaina, who was also older than him and also still studying.

But heck, so many guys marry younger girls, there's nothing wrong with the contrary. ;)

I can only be respectful of the fact that she doesn't like being in the limelight but chooses to live her quiet life with her kids and studies.

I'm sure she's very supportive for Seb though, especially as she knows a little bit about tennis herself. :)

What the article says:

Tulasne arrived in Florida with his family on Dec.14 and Seb started working physically harder than he had done in years, in the hope his 2003 start of year would be better than 2002 (when he was still tired from playing the Masters Cup and DC final, and when his break-up with former coach/friend Pier Gauthier had been bitter)
Paul Quetin (the DC trainer) wants Seb to be stronger physically - hopefully avoiding last year's injuries - especially working on his upper body as his legs are quite muscular already. ;) More stamina should also help for the long clay court matches.

The goal for 2003 is to do well in the big tournaments (slams and masters-series - especially the French Open...) and technically, to come to the net more, to be more aggressive with the backhand, to hit the second serve harder...

The article also mentions his bad record against French players :D
He says he is not a leader considering how close the Musqueteers are in terms of ranking and friendship.

He explains he fell in love with Florida when he first came for the orange bowl as a 15 years old and also admits living there is maybe protecting him from too much media attention.

He says it's important to play well in France: "when I feel that the crowd enjoys my style of play, it makes me happy."

His models are Hewitt and Safin: Lleyton for his seriousness and strength and Marat for his talent.
