Thanks alot for that great info tangy! I looked on ebay a day ago, and its full of wimbledon tickets (it seems im the only person not to get my tickets :( and get the dreaded letter lol). If i had got my tickets, i was gonna sell them on ebay though.

But i dont know how queens will know if they are tickets that have been sold! Damn, grounds passes sold for 205£ i sold myn for 12£ :D because i ordered a ticket before i knew i had exams. Trouble is, i wasnt sure if it would have sold on ebay at the time, as they were still avaliable on the site.

That's great news, joeb. :D But here's a warning I found for those who think they can purchase their tickets through Ebay or anywhere else

Fans face Queen's ticket warning
By Chris Jones, Evening Standard
19 May 2005

Tennis fans buying Stella Artois championship centre court tickets on auction sites have been warned they will be barred from this year's tournament at Queen's Club.

The problem of black market tickets has escalated for this year's event following confirmation that John McEnroe and Boris Becker will meet for the first time on grass after the final on 12 June.

With three weeks to go before the tournament starts, a pair of centre court tickets for the final with a face value of £124 are on offer on a website for nearly £400. A pair of ground tickets, normal price £24, are available for £205 and a seat in the East Stand on the Wednesday of the championship, which start on 6 June, is going for £165.

A tournament spokesman said: "It is a condition of the tickets for the Stella Artois that a purchaser cannot re-sell them. If they do, then that ticket becomes void and anyone purchasing the ticket faces the prospect of being turned away."

The championship will feature 18-year-old French sensation Richard Gasquet, defending champion Andy Roddick, three-times winner Lleyton Hewitt and home favourites Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski.

ooh, I was actually planning to got the ebay route. I probably still will a) because I have no other option and b) because I don't get how they will know where I got the tickets from.

It is possible to queue apparently, although i doubt you would want to by the sounds of it (i wouldnt :devil). Yes i am also unsure on how they would know if the ticket has been sold on (i dont think they put names on the tickets do they?).

I don't think so either Joe - I've emailed the guy on ebay and he says no. Though I don't think I can take that as gospel. I am waiting for the draw and order of play to come out so I can decide which day I wanna go. It's cutting it very fine but I'd rather risk that than pay way over the odds and not even get to see my favourite players on the day in question.

You wont get them in time if you do that; one the auction wont probably end in time with that and then you have to pay and have the ticket sent out :D Unless there is some special way? ;)

I reckon the guy is also a londoner we could meet up. In fact, the tickets I'm eyeing are on the "buy now" option. I've told the guy i wanna see the draw 1st and he said if no-one else buys them he'll hold them for me. I'm not investing too much faith in his word but maybe a good way of going about it would be to find out if the defending champ plays on the 1st or the 2nd day. I really wanna see Andy play and if I go for the tickets without knowing what day he's on, there a 50-50 chance I'll pick the wrong day. And knowing my luck, those are scary odds.

Ahh nice idea! I just have 3 grounds passes and then of course will go to qualies :D

The centre court tickets are way too expensive for me

Three passes as in three days? Lucky bugger :( ;)
Ebay tickets are out of my price range too but my boss is buying these for me. He gave the entire office incentives - tickets for any concert or sports event any of us wanted to go see. I've chosen Queen's Club over the FA Cup final so Mr Roddick had better not let me down  :)

Good luck for your exam too. :)

If the tickets are still I available then yeah, I should be. I'm pretty excited but am trying to be low-key about till i have the actual tickets in hand - being the cynic that I am. Fingers crossed... :)

Eowyn, what do you mean? Will you be working at the tourney?

yeah :D i remember her posting that in a earlier thread.

My friend worked at eastbourne, he had to sell programs half of the time. But for about 4 days he got to watch the tennis. I wouldnt mind working at a tennis event, but for the money you get (i wouldnt want to miss the opportunity of watching all the tennis instead of having to work

oooh lucky her! *she said a little jealously*
I'm not sure I'd like to work there, tho. If I were lucky enough to manage to get into Queens/Wimbledon, I'd wanna take in as much tennis as possible and possibly meet some of the players - not work. Unless there is a job that would allow me to do that? I have a mate who does the PR for one of the Premiership clubs. And that's basically what her job is. Watch the matches and hold the players' hands when they have to face the big bad media for post-match interviews. She doesn't even support the team

hehe thats pretty much my day job i work in a music venue and also a cricket club so i spend most of my time with bands or cricketers :)

i would love to be able to afford to see all the tennis at wimbly but at the moment cash is a major issue so this way i get paid and get to watch some of tennis! i'll get to see alot more at wimbly than i will at queens, and i'll hunt down the players at some point
