Operation eliminate Bandy's haters is well underway. Vamosssssssssssssss!

My acceptance speech..........
I'd just like to thank our inspirational moderator jazz_girl who has taught me so much about handling responsibility and power. Sigmagirl whose 'take no shit' attitude will be called upon always in times of trouble. Choupi for reminding everyone these momentous occasions always require alcohol, and for still talking to me after all my offensive remarks about the French language. I can't forget Betty who is constantly helping me to improve my terrible English. And where's Connie? My party animal friend.... these celebrations suck without you! But most of all, I'd like to thank me. Me for being so completely brilliant, courageous, intelligent and handsome.... these qualities made Amanda appointing me an inevitable decision. Thanks me. I love you.

Goodnight and godbless you all.

I hope you are right about the temps. I'm kinda looking forward to escaping Argentina's winter and stepping right into the summer in England in a few weeks time.

Tonight I'm a little unhappy. It's been raining heavily in Buenos Aires, it's cold and I'm missing my two crazy dogs. Oh and everyone on my apartment floor thinks I'm crazy... I refuse to use the lifts (they're very old and the Mariano Puerta story is still fresh in my memory) and tonight I've been heard singing along to Robbie Williams on the radio. :o A few nights ago I was putting on a special Cranberries live performance too...... zombieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee zombieeeeeeeeeee zombieeeeeeeeee eeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeee arghhhhhhhhh! I sincerely hope we DO NOT get this 102 degrees F   After all, I am the woman who got ill with "sun stroke" in Rome the other week because the temperatures got to about 24 degrees F which is somewhere in the low 70's. They had to call the Doctor out to me because I fainted at breakfast in the Hotel, and he just said the sun was too much for me!!!! I know I moaned about the cold in Hamburg (mainly because of the damp as well which made it really miserable), but I don't "do" anything over 20 degrees C at all! I will hibernate if it gets that hot this Summer!!!!

Actually Rosie...thats not even funny....some people were not built to be sun worshippers and it will do you no harm at all...anyway...the pale interesting look is "in". I love hot weather..and I am lucky that I do go very dark and have no problems with the sun...but I can understand where you are coming from. However, it amazes me when I see people with extremely white skin sunbathing for hours on end  ....and only using a low factor sunscreen. I use factor 20-25 at least. Last year on holiday there were some girls actually putting baby oil on their already burnt skin  ...painful...and stupid....but I'm still thinking...I have 6 weeks off in the summer...so roll on the sunshine!!!!!

Everybody's different. What matters is that everyone knows how to act, given the type one has. I agree with Sophia about the very pale skins sunbathing for hours! At least Rosie, you're aware of your skin nature and of your limits. Another good point, you don't sacrifice to that trend of dark skin at all cost! I have the chance to have the skin that goes with my hair. I hardly know what sunburns mean. But I'm totally unable to remain inactive for hours, either along a pool or on a beach, just because it's in! I like the sun but to a certain extent. And at the end of the summer, I have the same nice dark colours than those who have spent such a time where I can't stay. Simply gardening! :D

Well I have to say yesterday was one of the most incredible days ever. First, we watched the match from a bar full of people cheering for AC Milan.... I got so caught up I even celebrated when Hernan Crespo scored to make it 3-0. (yes I'm insane) At the point, I was ready to leave the bar..... but luckily one of my friends convinced me to stay and watch the second half.

It was the greatest comeback in the history of the European Cup, possibly the greatest result in the history of Liverpool, coming from 0-3 to beat a great side like AC Milan.

I've been hating Dudek forever but after his Bruce Grobbelaar like-antics in the penalty shootout he's a football god for me now. Of course, I couldn't celebrate too much immediately after the win...... Argentina doesn't love too much about England.... so I had a few dignified drinks and tried to contain my smile. I'm a nice guy really. But when we got back to my apartment :haha: it's taken a few hours to restore the place to normality.

My favorite moment. Diego Maradona was doing commentary on ESPN and said Liverpool had no chance of coming back........... well thanks el diego..... we have another miracle like the hand of god moment..... :yeah:

As for me, I leave Argentina a week Tuesday and hope to find some European summer waiting for me.

Hey..well I didn't watch the whole match but I did see the penalty shootout...it was tense and although I would not be a Liverpool fan...I was pleased and well the goalkeeper....he was so funny...
European summer?...I guess that depends on where you intend to come back to!! but the heatwave has arrived here....tomorrow will be about 80 degrees...just the right temperature for me :) ...can't say after that...but I did say..this will the hottest summer on record ;)

Regardless of your team, you've got to fly the English flag in Argentina and see how long you survive. :haha: I've been getting some weird looks here I was playing all the english footie anthems last night.... it's coming home, it's coming home, football's coming home....... I get braver the closer I come to leaving.

I soooooooo hope you're right and we get a great summer in England. For me, there's something very special about spending a summer in England...... maybe because the weather is so bad for the other nine months of the year you really appreciate the sunshine and bbq season. I'm also looking forward to seeing my dogs again. I spoke to my olds last night too, I heard barney the crazy sheepdog barking like mad in the background. :D

Hey gravity - I would never want to lose my British accent - I don't think it's horrible at all! Maybe I'm boring but I like to hear a nice, well-modulated English accent! Besides -most foreign men of my acquaintance seem to like my quintessentiallly Home Counties accent, so it's useful to keep it ;)

I must speak some alien british dialect because wherever I go in the world..... nobody can understand much of what I have to say. Well apart from the Aussies.... in Sydney and Melbourne I have no trouble at all being understood.

I guess it's more frustrating and noticable here. For example when I'm dancing at a club and actually meet a girl who can speak English after the music stops..... the next everest is always working around the accent.

Well...you know its a lottery to get the tickets for that concert...I would love to go...but I guess that like 18 million to 1.....its a long process...you have to text in with the answer to a multiple choice question and then wait and see...so get dialing when you get back here. You will see all the questions in the daily papers and on TV. The highlight would be The Cure...as I have become a huge fan recently...but I guess I will make do with going to see U2 at Twickenham on June 18th...a belated birthday present for me....but it will do ;)

No...I have none of their habits either  ...I'm just a normal girl...no specific look...just anything expensive...I have a serious shopping habit though :)

I haven't been shopping in forever. I need to go shopping.

I hit the stores today looking for new summer clothes. Didn't bring much back from Argentina since my suitcase was already bulging when I arrived there. :p

I made an exciting music discovery too this week. I would recommend everyone check out JAMES BLUNT and his excellent album BACK TO BEDLAM. It's a beautiful record with some amazingly deep songs on there. Good tracks for the downloaders to try:

High
You're Beautiful
Goodbye My Lover

Yeah I got hooked on The Cure years ago amazing band. I also love REM. U2, Paul McCartney, Annie Lennox (Eurythmics material I hope), Elton John, Velvet Revolver and Coldplay should all be fantastic to see live on the day.

Now every text message I get from tomorrow I'll be praying it's confirmation I succeeded in getting a ticket.

I love U2 too....forewer and at live   unforgettable experience

I like Rem too and Hot of chili..and Linking Park and..some Eminem songs :p

Good luck for your ticket and Soph remember a lot of pics..please :worship:

Oh I'm sorry to hear that. I know what you mean about the lyrics, not the stuff you need to be hearing when in certain places in life. There's a few bands who I always instantly remove from my record collection when things turn ugly in my life. There's one really dark song by Morrissey ugh......

On the flipside the weather is really beautiful and I'm able to work outside. I hope this holds now for a couple months and we all have a really memorable summer full of music festivals, bbqs and good times. I'm working outside atm on my laptop and mobile phone. I just took delivery of a new 19" TFT screen too that I've yet to use.... and I wont use until it starts pissing down with rain during Wimbledon
