I have all of the F3 races from this season taped, only one is missing because when the stupid TV station was airing it I was still on my way back home from the race. :banghead:

There are 2 or 3 F3 drivers I chat with regularly. They aren't famous or anything but it's just nice to know them. Who knows? Maybe one of them makes it big one day and I will be able to say that I'm friends with a F1 world champion. :p One of them, Franck Perera, is signed up at the Toyota F1 young drivers programme. I guess he is closest to making it into F1. The others I know are called Greg Franchi and Àtila Abreu.

I don't know any racing drivers personally :( I've known some people who've known people, like I knew a bloke who knew Mika Hakkinen and had dinner with him a few times, but never known people myself.

Having dinner with Mika sounds cool. Hehehehe. I saw him once at the races I go to but he was surrounded by so many people, I wasn't even able to take a picture of him. He is always there when I go to the races but it's simply impossible to see him up close, talk to him and all that. Not that I try hard to see him but whenever I pass by the Mercedes motorhome at the DTM races and see a bunch of people waiting outside with cameras in their hands and pics of him to get signed I don't even bother joining them because I know once he appears everyone will go crazy and he will leave as soon as he has arrived. :rolleyes:

With F3 it's a lot easier, you actually get the chance to speak to the drivers and not just the ones who aren't doing too well in the championship. The current championship leader Lewis Hamilton is such a cool guy, he looks like Tiger Woods and when you walk up to him to get a picture of him or an autograph he even says thank you and tells you that he appreciates your support a lot. It's never really crowded there in the paddock unless there are plenty of Dutchies lurking around to catch a glimpse of the Dutch drivers.

Talking of Dutchies, I've met Jan Lammers a few years ago at Silverstone for the FIA GT championship, when Bernd Schneider was at the top of that. I didn't have a pit pass but I just walked in and no one even noticed I didn't have one :lol:. I met Mike Hezemans there too, but don't really know much about him. And I've met British Superbikers from the Virgin Mobile team (through my uncle, who is high up at Virgin, hence Richard Branson being there on Sunday) I haven't met anyone else though, but it would be cool to know some racing drivers :cool:

In Germany it's the same with the DTM like in Britain with the BTCC. The not so popular drivers are easy to meet but if you wanna meet Hakkinen and all the other big names you hardly get a chance unless you go there early in the morning or stay until late in the evening. :lol: And even then it's very hard because you can be sure that you are not the only one having this idea. Hehehehe. Maybe next week at the race I have better luck with my "mission impossible" which is taking a picture of Mika. :lol:

I don't watch the Australian V8 supercars. Actually I also don't watch DTM, I just go there because of the F3 races and the free passes. :lol: And all the other free things too, like personal shuttle from the race track to the hotel and vice versa (my friend is my personal driver...hehehe) and free dinner (in case my friend invites me).

I have been with the DTM since 3 years but they are not at every DTM race. This year, for example, when the DTM was in Brno (Czech Rep.) they had their Masters in Zandvoort (NL) and when the DTM was on the Eurospeedway here in Germany they weren't there either therefore they were in Monaco along with the F1.

I know the groupies at the F1 races, we have plenty here but it's hard to get close to the F1 drivers anyway because of the strict security. If you know at which hotel they are staying it's easier but most of them are married anyway.

With F3 it's different...the guys are too young to be married. 2 of the guys I know a real players and the other one is gay. :lol:

Leave at about 8am, haven't got up that early since I had to get up early to put the tent away and come home from camping :lol: it's gonna be quite interesting being in a place where one of the failed bombs went off!
